Tri City RV Park, Myrtle Creek, Oregon

Date of Stay: November, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is Passport America. A very well maintained, quiet park with easy access to I-5. Paved interior roads and level pull-thru sites with concrete pads and patio and table. Grass site with small trees and conveniently located hookups. Good Verizon cell/data, adequate WiFi, and free cable TV. Not many obstacles to satellite TV. A little crowded, with many long term campers, but nicely maintained with a friendly staff. A great overnight in a quiet area off I-5. We camped at Tri City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park), Central Point, Oregon

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

One of the best laid out, well maintained parks we've been to. Paved interior roads and sites with a concrete patio and integral fire pit. Beautiful grass, young trees, and attractive landscaping throughout. Our site was level and had a large area of grass and plants. The park is far enough off the interstate to be reasonably quiet but easily accessable to the I-5 and shopping. Good WiFi, excellent Verizon cell/data, lots of OTA TV, and easy access to TV satellites. Nice office with comfortable area if your RV is being worked on, friendly staff, and coffee. Well worth the stay and we'll make this our base anytime we're in the area. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are two family-owned RV repair facilities in the area, and we found both to be fair, honest, and professional. Jackson RV and Southern Oregon Light Truck and RV have technicians that are knowledgeable and honest.

Burns RV Park, Burns, Oregon

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This park probably doesn't have to be as nice as it is, since it's the only full hookup, easy access park in the area. But it's very nice - well maintained, with long, level gravel pull thru sites, shade, and grass. The staff is friendly, the hookups are convenient, the cable is adequate, and even the WiFi works. Good Verizon coverage and clear view of TV satellites. A bit pricey for an overnight, but worth the stay. We camped at Burns RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wildhorse Resort and Casino RV Park, Pendleton, Oregon

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Located behind the casino with paved interior roads and gravel sites. Our pull thru site was just long enough for the motor home and tow and parking had to be made at an angle. The site, like most, slopes downward and ours required additional blocks to level the rig. Hookups were convenient and each site has an average-sized strip of grass with small tree. WiFi worked depending on the number of people in the park, and Verizon cell/data were strong. TV by satellite only, with no obstructions. Friendly staff and responsive shuttle to the casino. Large travel center with good prices nearby. We camped at Wildhorse Resort and Casino RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The casino is large, busy, and very smokey. The food at the Sports Bar and the buffet was very good, especially the Sunday brunch which featured oysters on the half shell. Anything else requires a drive into Pendleton.

Horn Rapids RV Resort, Richland, Washington

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This is another park where site location is key to the quality of your stay. There are many long-term residents in the perimeter sites, and being close to them means significant noise each morning as then leave for work. The interior sites, both pull thru and back in, are fairly level gravel and very narrow, with a grass strip, table, and small tree. The park is located about four miles from the interstate and there isn't much in the area; a large shopping center is about 10 miles away. The WiFi was slow and generally unusable; however Verizon cell/data was strong. A few OTA stations and little obstruction to TV satellites. The office staff was particularly noteworthy, both helpful and friendly. We camped at Horn Rapids RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Coyote Run RV Park, Connell, Washington

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Overpriced for a one-night stay, but it's location makes it a convenient stop for us and the access to US 95 is excellent. Friendly, helpful host. Interior roads and sites are easy to maneuver for big rigs and the pull-through sites are long and level. Good cable, usable WiFi, no OTA channels but clear views to the TV satellites. Although close to the highway, noise at night was minimal. We camped at Coyote Run RV Park in a Motorhome.

LePage Park COE, Rufus, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

A great park along I-84 with easy access. The climb above the campground is a bit unnerving in a big rig, but it's totally doable. The pull through sites are loops off the the interior road and are long enough to pull in without unhooking your tow vehicle. You can step out your door and sit on the bank of the John Day river. Solid 50A power, good Verizon cell/data, and no obstructions to TV satellites. Road noise from the interstate bridge and trains can be annoying but not enough to be bothersome. Friendly hosts and rangers, great price - a great place to overnight. We camped at LePage Park COE in a Motorhome.

Deschutes County Fair & Expo RV Park, Redmond, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Obviously a park built with large RVs in mind; interior roads are wide and easy to navigate and sites are extra long, level concrete, and have a patio and separate parking space. Check in was quick with a professional and friendly host, and finding our spot was easy. Conveniently located hookups, although the sewer fitting is at least 6" above ground. No trees for shade, so no obstructions to TV satellites. Great OTA TV with many channels. No cable or WiFi but Verizon cell/data worked well. Noise from aircraft was minimal but train noise during the night was sometimes loud enough to wake us up. The entry road to the park can be confusing; the sign is between two right turns - take the first one if exiting from US 97. Great park staff - I had left a small piece of equipment on my picnic table to dry after a rain. The park host saw it while we were gone, took it to the office, and called me to let me know. When I picked it up she had placed a fan next to it to help it dry. That kind of service will guarantee our return. We camped at Deschutes County Fair & Expo RV Park in a Motorhome.

Meadowlark RV Park, Creswell, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This park's selling point is the easy access from I-5 yet being relatively quiet. Like many along I-5, it's really a trailer park of RVs, with the majority of sites being taken by long term tenants. Manageable interior roads, fairly level gravel sites, and grass separate sites. Lots of household possessions stacked up along RVs but it looks like they try and keep it manageable. Hookups on our site were widely spaced, with sewer being over 20' from the center of the site. The 50A circuit was bad with only 8 volts on one leg. Reported to the office but no action was taken during our overnight stay; fortunately temperatures were low enough that 30A was sufficient. No obstructions to satellites, a dozen or so OTA channels, and extensive cable. Good WiFi and Verizon cell/data. Good for an overnight stay, but not a destination park. We camped at Meadowlark RV Park in a Motorhome.

Waiiaka RV Park (formerly Waiiaka Trailer Haven), Yreka, California

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access to I-5, gravel entry roads and level gravel sites. Check in was quick and professional by a friendly lady who then walked us to our site. No grass and fairly close, but with picnic table and shade. Excellent cable, the best we've seen. WiFi was average and Verizon cell/data was strong. 50A pull through sites are under trees so could be a problem for TV satellites could be blocked. The section of long term residents is located in an area separate from the camping section and was fairly well maintained. A nice touch was the delivery of fresh popcorn by the office lady - very thoughtful. We camped at Waiiaka RV Park (formerly Waiiaka Trailer Haven) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The park web sites states that the Rain Rock Casino is "conveniently located within walking distance". I'm not sure how convenient - it's about half a mile, uphill, and with no sidewalks. Do yourself a favor and call the shuttle but beware that it has limited hours.

A Country RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access to CA58 with well marked entry. Office staff was friendly and helpful. Paved interior roads and double-wide concrete pads made parking easy, and pads were long enough to leave tow attached. Hookups are central in rear and an extension may be necessary for sewer/water. No obstructions to TV satellites, average cable, and numerous OTA channels. WiFi worked well, and Verizon cell/data were strong. Check construction info; during our visit the exit for the park westbound was open, eastbound was closed and required you to take an earlier exit. Quiet at night - an excellent place to spend the night. We camped at A Country RV Park in a Motorhome.

Desert Eagle RV Park (Military FamCamp), Nellis AFB, Nevada

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We've stayed here many times over the years, and the service and facilities have been consistently outstanding. Professional, friendly check in with welcome package and escort to site, which this time was the "legacy" or older section which we prefer. Sites here are in a circle and provide great separation between the level, concrete sites. Nice landscaping with trees and shrubs, but no real obstructions to the TV satellites. No cable but plenty of OTA channels. We couldn't get the park WiFi to connect during our week long stay, but Verizon cell/data were good. Plenty of the "sound of freedom" during the week beginning early in the morning, but quiet at night and on the weekends. One of the best Famcamps in the system. We'll stay here again. We camped at Desert Eagle RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Shady Lane RV Camp, Barstow, California

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Entry to the park is narrow and there's not much room to pull up and clear the road if someone is ahead of you. Be prepared to pull off the road to the right prior to the entrance if you see another rig in line. Tight but doable for big rigs; some of the long-term workers park their pickup trucks near the access roads. Gravel, level sites long enough to leave the tow attached to the motorhome. WiFi worked well until the residents returned in the evening, but Verizon cell/data was strong. Cable TV, a few OTA channels in English, and not much to block TV satellites. Fairly easy access off I-5 in a less than picturesque area. An acceptable overnight in a pinch. We camped at Shady Lane RV Camp in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Friendly owners at check in and escort to site. Paved interior roads and level concrete pad with patio and table. Good Verizon cell/data and park WiFi. No obstructions to TV satellites and plenty of OTA channels. Very secure with key-card gate and tall walls with razor wire. We really liked this park and it's owners, but the constant rumble of nearby trains is a deterrent to a return. We camped at Shady Haven RV Park& Mini Storage in a Motorhome.

Kit Fox RV Park, Patterson, California

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access from the interstate and professional check in. Paved interior roads, level and long pull-thrus with convenient hookups. Cable TV was limited, adequate OTA channels, and no obstructions to satellites. Sites are close together, no table or grass. Verizon cell and Wi-Fi was strong, park Wi-Fi spotty. Significant noise from trucks due to the huge terminal in back of the park. OK for an overnight at the PA rate; wouldn't stay here at the full rate. We camped at Kit Fox RV Park in a Motorhome.
