Haggard's RV Campground, Pueblo West, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground with very reasonable rates. It is about 10 miles from Pueblo West that has most anything you might want. The owners are super friendly and helpful. There are walking paths around the perimeter of the campground. This is a very dry area, but there are artificial flowers, sculpture items, and benches along the path. There is a small playground, a very large dog run, (actually a corral), and a swimming pool. The pool is a little cool, but the owner said they were investigating ways they could heat the pool to make it more enjoyable. The spaces are large and have good hook-ups. The water has a lot of minerals in it, but with filters there is no problem with it. We were here for a week, and really enjoyed our stay. We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Fas Gas RV Park, Haines Junction, Yukon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Park is basically a parking lot next to a gas station and small grocery store. They have full hookups, but only 30 amp electric. For an overnight stay, it was very nice. Utilities are centered on the sites and worked well. Check-in was easy, and the location of the park is near the main roads. We would definitely make this an overnight spot again. We camped at Fas Gas RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stoney Creek RV Park, Seward, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Nice clean campground with full hook-ups and pull-thrus available. Sites are large, especially by Alaskan standards, and have some grass and a picnic table, as well as a gravel pad. Most also have fire rings. The campground is a couple of miles outside Seward, so it is very quiet. You can see mountains around the campground and there is a creek that flows alongside the campground, with a gravel and a grassy area that is nice for walking or exercising your dog. There are a couple of shuttles for tours that come to the campground every day. There is a laundry with reasonable prices ($2.50), restrooms, and free showers. We camped at Stoney Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Be sure to go to Exit Glacier. You can walk to overlook the glacier, and it's FREE! The short road getting to the campground is full of potholes, but that isn't the campground's fault. Just go slow and it will be fine.

Klondike RV Park & Cabins, Soldotna, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

This is a wonderful RV park. Other nearby parks are crowded and close together. This park has spacious spots and very friendly, helpful owner and staff. Although we don't use the bathrooms, I overheard a lady saying that these were the cleanest restrooms that she has ever seen. The whole place is kept very clean. They even have an herb garden by the office where you can pick some fresh herbs. Rates in July are higher than in other months because of demand. I would highly recommend reservations as this park was full while we were there. We camped at Klondike RV Park & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Chicken Gold Camp and Outpost, Chicken, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is not a resort! You are off the grid. You come here to experience what life is like in so many remote places in Alaska. I loved this campground. As in all of Chicken, the campground is serviced by a generator. I did not find it that noisy and it worked well, providing the campground with 20 and 30 amp electricity. They did have water to fill your tank, but they asked you to bring your water with you from Dawson City or Tok. They also request that you take your garbage with you when you leave. There are no groceries to be had in Chicken, but there are places to eat at the campground and at the Cafe. All sewage needs to be transported to Tok, so they charge for black water disposal and they have outhouses instead of flush toilets. Most Alaskans are very familiar with outhouses. Seeing that the nearest groceries are 115 miles one way in Tok, I think Chicken does a fantastic job of accommodating tourists. Their WiFi worked very well for us, and the gift shop had a lot of nice souvenirs. There was also a nice eating area with a nice selection of sandwiches, etc. Outside, along the wall was posted a lot of historical information about Chicken, including a detailed article about the Pedro Dredge. We camped at Chicken Gold Camp and Outpost in a Fifth Wheel.

Downtown RV Park, Watson Lake, Yukon

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

In American money our site would be $42. Downtown RV Park is basically two gravel parking lots with narrow, but long sites (16 x 75). It has pull thru sites down the middle and back-in sites around 2 sides. The sites are level, and even though it rained, it is not muddy! There are five 50 amp sites with full hook-up, and the rest are 30 amp full hook-up sites. The utilities are on a post between the sites, and they worked well. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Between 4-8 pm, the park has a tent where they sell fish and chips, hamburgers, French fries, and onion rings, etc. The park is very close to a supermarket and within easy walking distance to the Sign Post Forest and the Northern Lights Centre. We camped at Downtown RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Toad River Lodge & RV Park, Toad River, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is Toad River-a lodge, rv park, restaurant, and gas pumps (gas and diesel-$1.62/liter) all in one location. It is a nice park with gravel sites and grass strips between the sites. There is only 30 amp electric, but the full hook-up pull throughs were level and long and wide enough to accommodate big rigs. Each site has a charcoal grill and picnic table. It is a small park with cabins and rv sites. There are a few pull-thru sites and many of the back-in sites are on a small lake. There is a beaver lodge at one end of the lake and we saw beaver, ducks, geese, swans, and 2 moose across the lake. We camped at Toad River Lodge & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Whitecourt Lions Campground, Whitecourt, Alberta

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice man at check-in moved us to a spot that would be easier for our big rig to get into. The pull-thru sites are pretty close together, but the Park was not crowded, so there were no units on either side of us. It appeared that back-ins had more space and some had shade, but many had a slant to them from front to back. There was a small playground in the middle of one area. The full service utilities were convenient and worked well. It is just a basic campground and was great for an overnight stop. There was a lot of traffic noise, but it did not interfere with our sleep. We camped at Whitecourt Lions Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Whistlers Campground (Parks Canada), Jasper National Park, Alberta

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Very large spacious sites with numerous pine trees. Unfortunately, a lot of them are dead, and some sites make it tight for big rigs pulling into the sites. Although the campground is large, it is quiet. Utilities were handy and worked well. Only 30 amp is available and there is no cable for TV, but then people come here for the nature, and it is beautiful. The nice little town of Jasper and the Icefields Parkway are nearby. We camped at Whistlers Campground (Parks Canada) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground - Full Hookups (Parks Canada), Banff National Park, Alberta

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

RV's are parked on both sides of the campground roads in loops that you just pull into and out of. Our spot was not as level side to side as we would have liked. Utilities are good, but there are only 30 amp full hook ups. There are a lot of trees between the roads, so you feel like it is a little more private. Mountains surround the campground, and wildlife come in to the campground. (I saw elk.) We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground - Full Hookups (Parks Canada) in a Fifth Wheel.

Granview Recreation Park, Granum, Alberta

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is nothing special with gravel roads and wide, level gravel sites with weeds/ grass taking over most of the sites. Utilities are good and easily reached. A small lake is in the center of the campground with a small, sandy beach, an area for fishing, and a recycled rubber path walkway around it. Watch your step though at your campsite, because there are a lot of gopher holes! We camped at Granview Recreation Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Moose River Campground, Jackman, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This wooded campground has only 20/30 amp service - no 50. There are only 7 sites with sewers, and they are all back-in sites. The pull-thru sites do not have sewers. There are a lot of people here with ATV's, as there are a lot of trails nearby. The campground is adjacent to a stream, and has a pond, playground, restrooms, and dump station. Seasonal people are friendly, and there is good Wi-Fi and cable TV. Campground owner did not honor Good Sam discount, but reluctantly gave $10 off a 4 night stay. Also, she charged $5 a day more than posted on their website, and claimed that she had nothing to do with the website, and could not change it. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Ray Behrens COE, Monroe City, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park with concrete pads, picnic tables, lantern posts, and many spacious sites. Having full hook up sites for $24 is a great value. With an America the Beautiful senior pass, it is only $12. My only complaint is that some of the sites are quite slanted, and some are surrounded by trees that could interfere with slide-outs, satellite reception, or hit the tops of higher units. You need to pick your site with care, if you have a large unit. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and there are trails, some going down to the lake. There is also a marina. It is a great campground. We camped at Ray Behrens COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This is the best COE campground with full hook-ups. The sites are mostly shady and are spacious. The campground is very quiet and offers a river beach area, fishing along the river, a couple of hiking trails, and biking on the campground roads. A man comes by selling firewood on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Bathroom shower floors were redone while we were here. This is a very nice campground!
