Los Prietos Campground, Santa Barbara, California

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Los Prietos is a beautiful National Forest Campground. Tucked in the hillside and under wonderful oak trees. The campground itself is decently maintained and the camp hosts are always going around checking the bathrooms etc. the roadway asphalt is a bit worn but still useable. Our hosts warned us about the site size vs my 34 foot rv but I got in with minimal effort. The spots are large enough to feel apart from the other campers but still close enough to know you are in a campground. The turkeys are a nice extra.

We stayed in camp all weekend playing and adventuring the grounds themselves and never got bored. We camped at Los Prietos Campground in a Motorhome.

Camp James Campground, Kernville, California

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for the first time on this trip. Found the grounds to be well kept, east to maneuver my rig around. The site was flat, spacious, and well maintained. Loved the small stream in the camp and the Kern River is on the edge of the campground. We read all the comments about crazy rule adherence but did not experience any so called harassment by the staff. They have a beautiful park and want it to remain with a very natural feel and sound. Maybe if you want loud music at your site, the desert is more your style? Anyway we love this place and will be returning this month. We camped at Camp James Campground in a Motorhome.

Laughlin / Avi Casino KOA, Laughlin, Nevada

Date of Stay: November, 2014 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here as just a rest stop on a longer road trip. The check in staff was very nice, especially the trainee that was assisting us. She allowed us to change up our site choice due to a change in our equipment. We found the site to be very long, enough for a 34 ft rig towing a Ford Explorer. It was level and clean dirt/gravel. Hook ups were clean and in good working order, great water pressure. Kids used the small playground for a bit and said it was fun ( they are 2&3). Definately a park geared for the casino crowd and not a "resort" style KOA. I recommend. Just be aware, no campfires allowed. We camped at Laughlin / Avi Casino KOA in a Motorhome.
