Wellington KOA, Wellington, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Love this KOA. The only bad thing I can say is that the wi-fi is a little slow. Service and friendliness go way beyond excellent. Absolutely recommend. We were ready to pull out in the morning and noticed a flat tire on an inside dual on the motorhome. Owners were so very kind and considerate, especially knowing we would be staying past checkout and creating noise and some inconvenience in getting repair service out to us. I rate this park the highest of any one I have ever stayed at. We camped at Wellington KOA in a Motorhome.

Hoot Owl Hollow Campground, Dubuque, Iowa

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

No wi-fi, no satellite reception, no laundry room, no store; nothing but parking spaces at this campground (although there is a pool). It's clean and quiet but all it affords is a place to park your rig and have hookups. We camped at Hoot Owl Hollow Campground in a Motorhome.

Close to Dubuque shopping and fast food restaurants; there is a small mall in Dubuque. We actually only go there because of visiting family.

Holtwood Campground, Oconto, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are very small; pull-throughs do not have full hookups so had to get a back-in site which meant unhooking our towed first and parking it in an unused spot. It was quiet for the 7 nights we stayed there (visiting nearby relatives and side trip to Door County). Worst part was sites not level and could not use levelers because ground too soft. There are goose droppings everywhere; had to borrow a rake from groundskeeper to police our site before we unhooked. Actually a nice play to stay, very clean (except for the geese) but not big-rig friendly at all. We camped at Holtwood Campground in a Motorhome.

Dell Boo Family Campground, Baraboo, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

Campground was quiet during our 5 night stay (we were there visiting relatives in the Dells, Maxomanie and Madison areas). Laundry only has 2 washers (in good condition). Three working dryers but 1 was a clunker. Water seemed to be seeping up from the tile floor so beware if your clean laundry falls out of the dryers. Wi-Fi only works at the pavilion area. Satellite service was good. Would have rated them much higher but they need to do some serious tree trimming. My heretofore unscratched motorhome now has very long scratches along both sides and the top because of tree limbs. No way to avoid them when leaving the park. Would not stay there again specifically for this reason. Hard to patch up full body paint and scratched decals. We camped at Dell Boo Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Railside RV Ranch, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We ended up at this RV park because our reserved spot at another park was given to someone else. That park called Railside (which they highly recommended) to see if we could be accommodated. Note that Railside is right next to train tracks so if you want nice and quiet it will not happen there. We paid for a week because we were afraid that we would not be able to find another place as this is a busy time in Williams, being just before the July 4th weekend. The pull-through site was just barely long enough. There are no picnic tables. One of their rules is to please not use carpets on the ground by your RV so that the grass is not disturbed. Um, what grass? The camp itself could use a lot of landscaping improvements; it just looks scraggly, rundown and not conducive to taking a stroll around the campground at all. They do offer free coffee and Belgian waffles in the morning. I did try the waffles one morning and have to say they are really good. Overall however, I would not choose to stay here again, unless it was just for one night. As for a rating of our site, it was not bad but I would also say it was not satisfactory (if that makes sense to you), so I did not rate it. We camped at Railside RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

Deer Creek Valley RV Park, Topeka, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Super nice park, really clean and very quiet. Would have rated it a 10 except that WiFi kept dropping out to the point I was so aggravated and shut my lap top down. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Niagara Falls Campground & Lodging, Niagara Falls, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Skimpy on their pull thru widths (good thing we only have slide outs on one side) and barely long enough for our rig (which is only 55 feet total). No cable TV and the WiFi is just okay. Would not stay here again. We camped at Niagara Falls Campground & Lodging in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Monticello (formerly Walnut Acres), Monticello, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park and the owners are super people. The only reason I did not give a 10 rating is because they do not have cable and they allow campfires (because of my asthma this keeps me inside the camper when I would much rather be out and about walking around and meeting people). We have stayed here many times over the past 10 years and have always had a good time. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Monticello (formerly Walnut Acres) in a Motorhome.

Mountain Road RV Park, Tucumcari, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very "plain-Jane" park meant for those travelers who just want a nice place to sleep. Cable is okay but the WiFi did not work (and this is the most important thing when I'm camping). The office person really tried to get me on the internet but no success. She was extremely pleasant and helpful. I would stay again but only if WiFi was up and running. We camped at Mountain Road RV Park in a Motorhome.

Elk Creek RV Park, Elk City, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Extremely rugged park; no picnic tables by the sites; very skinny pull thrus - if we had slides on both sides I doubt the site would fit; could not access the wi-fi (which was the main reason I picked the park to begin with); very limited cable channels; real close to I-10 We camped at Elk Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Shore Hills Campground and RV Park, Boothbay, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean campground but very dusty and unfortunately our site was right next to a dirt road. No shade in most of the pull through sites. It's very quiet, though. Not very outgoing personalities in the office but maybe that just a Maine trait? Great WiFi reception and performance. We camped at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Williamsport South / Nittany Mtn. KOA, New Columbia, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

Paid for a "deluxe pull through site" - what a laugh and a rip off. We could not get our rig leveled from front to back because of the extreme slope of the site. There was no wi-fi up and running. Will not stay here again. We camped at Williamsport South / Nittany Mtn. KOA in a Motorhome.
