Windmill RV Park, Merkel, Texas
Date of Stay:
November, 2015 -
$30.00
Overall Rating:
This park is really a home to men and families working on the oil line with one space for people traveling through. The owner is very kind the space is very large, hook ups easy but not sure I would come back. Train is nearby and the place is really quiet by 9:00 but by 5:30 there is a lot of noise as the men leave for the day. We camped at Windmill RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Not much here not even a place to eat except Sonic and Subway

North Crest RV Park, Waco, Texas
Date of Stay:
November, 2015 -
$38.00
Overall Rating:
What an interesting place, if you want straight rows, open spaces this place is not for you. If you want a unique place try it out. Older park (21 years old) that has been updated. The owner is a hoot and really helpful. Close to I-35 so some road noise. Hook up easy, cable box gives perfect TV. Not the best for really large rigs but has a few appropriate spots. We would stay here again. We camped at North Crest RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Be sure to go to Homestead Heritage Farms what a unique and wonderful place for home grown food and beautiful hand crafts.

Easy to find and easy to get into, great TV, easy hook ups and all spaces are pull through. Asphalt pads, fairly level. Great central spot to go to the historic Vicksburg and the National Military Park. Few full timers but mostly people stopping for a single night. Gas close by and easy in and out. Would stay again. Get a private park guide for the military park tour, a great experience and not expensive.

Five Flags RV Park, Pensacola, Florida

$35.00
Overall Rating:
Great new park and it will only get better. Easy to find, close to everything, water available to wash your RV, washer/dryer on the honor system. Large flats cement pads with great cable and wifi. Young family owns park and could not have been more friendly or helpful. It will be fun to come back and see how they continue to improve the park. We stopped for one night but wish we had stayed longer, we will be back if ever in the area. We camped at Five Flags RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
There is a gate in the tense that opens right into Sunnys BBQ so you can walk to dinner after a long day of travel.

Grassy Key RV Park & Resort, Marathon, Florida
Date of Stay:
October, 2015 -
$65.00
Overall Rating:
This is a small RV park (which I like) very clean. Sites are gravel, choice of back in at the water or only slightly further away nice pull throughs. Level new gravel throughout the park, no sand that will get into your rig. Great cable TV and good wifi. In the middle of the Keys so good location for sight seeing. Close to highway but not much noise. Office staff was helpful, I would stay here again. We camped at Grassy Key RV Park & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Imagination Mountain Camp-Resort (formerly Great Smoky Jellystone Camp, Cosby, Tennessee
Date of Stay:
October, 2015 -
$58.00
Overall Rating:
What a delightful place but not for the faint of heart if you have a really big rig. Be sure to follow the driving directions from the website so you will miss all the congestion in Gatlinburg. There are several places for big rigs and the owner is an expert in getting you maneuvered into your spot. Once you are in you can hear the water from two creeks and the wind through the many trees on the property. Great cable TV and Internet. We will come again. We camped at Imagination Mountain Camp-Resort (formerly Great Smoky Jellystone Camp in a Fifth Wheel.
Be sure to go to apple house restaurant in the Carver Orchard, wonderful home cooking and loads of Apple related food in the barn.

Hartwick Highlands Campground, Cooperstown, New York
Date of Stay:
October, 2015 -
$45.00
Overall Rating:
Great clean and pretty campground. Note don't use your GPS for the final few miles, instead pass Hwy 11 and come in on Seminary rd and right onto Burke Hill Rd. small sign on left, it is an easier way in, you will miss the winding hilly road that way. Delightful host, easy drive into the Hall of Fame. Easy back ins and pull through sites. Here in October so almost had the place to ourselves. We camped at Hartwick Highlands Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
I had no idea how delightful Cooperstown would be great diners and pretty streets, be sure to explore more than the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Branches of Niagara Campground and Resort, Grand Island, New York
Date of Stay:
September, 2015 -
$77.00
Overall Rating:
This is a great campground although a little pricey. The sites are clean, very roomy, and level gravel pads. The general store is well stocked and it is in a perfect location to enjoy Niagara Falls. This is an especially great place for families with children and the log cabins make it easy to have family join you if they don't camp. There are boats to use and lots of activities around the park, bathrooms are spotless. We really enjoyed this resort and would come back again. We camped at Branches of Niagara Campground and Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Really kind and informative owner, clean park, small but sites are well spaced and easy to get into. Pull through and back in. Careful getting into the drive and don't use GPS as it will take you past the park. We camped at Cross City R.V. Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Lots of great civil war attractions close by.
