Houghton Lake Travel Park, Houghton Lake, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Great campground! Many seasonals, but spaces were large, long enough for big rigs and lots of grass. Very quiet setting, across from residential area and easy to get to from the highway. All very level sites, hosts were super friendly as were the other "regulars" and seasonals. Close to town for shopping as well as Higgins Lake State Park with lakeshore access for dogs and walking trails, picnic areas and a boat launch. We camped at Houghton Lake Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Soaring Eagle Hideaway RV Park, Mt Pleasant, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed two nights on way through the area. Very nice campground, all concrete pads, many long pull throughs. It was off season so it was mainly seasonal and passing through occupants. Reasonable rate on off season, but very pricey during summer! Nice little lake with canoes to rent. Easy access from highway. Close to shopping and Mt Pleasant has an awesome greenway trail that goes through town. We camped at Soaring Eagle Hideaway RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stagecoach Station Campground, Benton, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This park is easy to get to off I-69. There is a sign for the campground, but the street is a bit hidden behind a car repair business. You have to pay attention so you don't miss it. Looks to be a very new campground. All sites are big and can accommodate big rigs. Some sites are on an incline and you do have to level out on those, but it wasn't bad. Sites are gravel with grass on both sides. Not a lot of shade in the middle, but back in sites had shade. Bathrooms and showers are unbelievable! Auto water button ran for a long time with immediate hot water in spacious shower stalls. Handicap stall had grab rails all around. Rec room with TV and pool table and tables for gatherings. Good place to stop if you are heading north/south in Kentucky or are planning on going to Kentucky Lake for a few days. Only draw back is none of the sites have sewer, but they do offer honey wagon service on Saturday and a dump station. Close to shopping and services. We camped at Stagecoach Station Campground in a Motorhome.

Ozarks Mountain Springs RV Park, Mountain View, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Very easy to access off US60, long big rig friendly sites. We were only staying overnight and I asked for a site long enough that we didn't have to unhook our toad and got just what we wanted, plenty of room. The sites are all gravel and some are close to each other, but it was not crowded on a weekday, so that was not an issue for us. Interior roads are paved and gravel, easy to maneuver in and out. Bathrooms and showers are immaculate! Showers are as big as our home shower and look pretty new. Laundry room is nice and clean as well. Free WiFi, but it only worked at the office, but that was not that far from our site. They have a Pickin' Patio where they have music on Sat nights and a huge open field behind it for kids to play on and dogs to romp (un-fenced though). Nice walking trail back there too. Some seasonal occupants, but all where clean and tidy, no junkers. The guys that run the place are super friendly and helpful. You make a reservation on their website and they will call you back to confirm. They are not often right there to answer the phone, but when you show up to camp, they are there to check you in immediately. Even though we were close the the highway, it was still quiet. Great place to stop overnight or to stay for a while and experience the Ozark area. We camped at Ozarks Mountain Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

Beagle Bay RV Haven and Campground, Sarcoxie, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older park that could use some updating, but the spaces are wide and long for big rigs. They have cleared out a lot of brush and taken down some trees to make the sites easy to get in and out. Many of the sites also have an additional parking space next to your RV site for your toad or extra cars. I believe all are full hookup (for that price is fantastic), everything worked great during our stay. TV is limited to local unless you have satellite, no cable, but they do give you Wi-Fi with your fee, free for each day of your stay. Not the speediest, but it worked fine for our needs. We stayed twice for two days each time on a visit to family in the area. It is great for overnight stays as it is right off I-44, close to a gas station that can handle big rigs towing (Kum&Go). We had no trouble with highway noise during our stays and we were in the second space from the office. Dog friendly and everyone there was pleasant, especially the owner, and kept their long term sites clean. We camped at Beagle Bay RV Haven and Campground in a Motorhome.

Fort Chiswell RV Park, Max Meadows, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access from I-81, only about 4/10 mile off exit. Long level pull thru sites with lots of shade. Very well kept grounds, walking trail for dogs and people, very pet friendly. Secluded setting surrounded by farmland, quiet atmosphere. Full cable TV, WiFi at site and cell service all worked great. Pool looked very inviting but we did not use. Close to New River State Park (about 10 miles away) for hiking/biking trail and only about 40 miles form Blue Ridge Pkwy. Close to shopping in Wytheville(8 miles). We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Soaring Eagle Campground & RV Park, Lenoir City, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient to I-40, right off the exit, nice long level pull thru sites, although a bit close to each other. Limited TV, but digital had more channels, WiFi at site and worked great as did cell service. Mostly seasonal sites, but this is a good campground for a short stay or overnight stop. Grocery, gas, shopping about 10 miles away. We camped at Soaring Eagle Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Woodland Campground, Woodland, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to get to off I-80, a left and a right only about a mile from the off ramp. Very quiet setting, yet only 3 miles from shopping(Walmart), gas, restaurants. Owners are super friendly, helpful, their dog Buddy is a great ambassador too! Lovely pond with walking trail around it into woods. Small game room for kids, laundry room, small store for emergencies. Long, wide pull thru with large grassy area (enough so some full timers had room for fencing for their dogs!) Campground is on a little hill so sites are more open than most campgrounds. Seasonals are on the perimeter and all are very well kept. The only negative if you must have your television is the cable only gets about 4 channels. Great place to stop for a night or stay for a week/month or more. We camped at Woodland Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Clearfield PA is the closest town with Walmart, JC Penney, Big Lots, drug stores and a hospital. Only 3 miles down the road. Lots of small towns with neat restaurants, things to do around the area.

If you are an outdoors person this is a great campground to stay, close to lots of state parks, PA wilds, Elk Center, bike trails, ATV trails.

Big Red Barn RV Park, Carthage, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here while visiting grandkids and have stayed here before. All sites are nice and long, can accommodate the biggest motorhome and tow. Nice, gravel sites with picnic table and concrete patio on many. Large open field where you can walk or exercise your dog. They do say breed restrictions on dogs. Quiet campground with some seasonal, but mostly overnight traffic. Close to shopping in Carthage, about a mile to Walmart/Walgreen's. Good Sam discount was 20%, quite a nice surprise! Will definitely stay here again. We camped at Big Red Barn RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground, Yuma, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 5 nights while sightseeing in the area. Very nicely laid out park, easy access from I-40, several new concrete sites, some with decks. Well lit at night, quiet even though near 4 lane highway, even seasonal sites are well kept. Good Sam discount and I think military also. Did not use restrooms, but they admit they are older, but should be clean. Super helpful, friendly staff. They give you a lot of info on registration about where to shop, tourist info, etc. Close to Shiloh battlefield, Parker's Cross Roads battlefield is just up the road for Civil War buffs. Definitely will stay here again, lots to do in the area! We camped at Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
