Dead Horse Ranch State Park, Cottonwood, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Nice state park. Electric and water at sites w/ dump station at exit/entry. Some sites have beautiful views of Cottonwood below or Jerome on mountain. Nice level sites with plenty of room between. Fishing in ponds and horseback riding is available by concessionaire in park. A nice place to spend a couple of days. Very convenient base to visit both Sedona and Jerome. We camped at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in a Motorhome.

Dolores River Campground, Dolores, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

A beautiful park located on the Dolores River. As previous reviewers noted the owners are excellent- Friendly, accommodating and do a great job of running an excellent park. There are around 90 RV sites along with cabins and some really nice tent sites. The park is a perfect compromise between RV "resorts" and "camping" . Sites are shaded, very level with decent space between them. Very nice cement patio and picnic table with each site. Nicely landscaped with grass between sites and wide gravel roads around the park. Very easy to get in and out. Dog friendly . Many people seem to come here every season and the atmosphere is exceptionally friendly without seeming "cliqueish". No fire pits but fires are allowed in your own off the ground fire ring. Ice cream socials once a week and they bring in a local wood fired pizza provider on Wednesdays. Also have a vintage Airstream trailer serving coffee and breakfast burritos in mornings. We were impressed, highly recommend the place and will definitely return. We camped at Dolores River Campground in a Motorhome.

Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park & Cabins, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

Probably the best RV park in the area. Very well run and maintained. Immaculate rest rooms and showers. Nicely landscaped, good spacing of sites. Very clean patio with nice picnic table. Staff seems attentive to guests needs. Pricey but it is in a premier location. For this money you would think there would be a swimming pool :) Abuts NFS land with great trails for dog walking. No fires per town ordinance. Wife saw wolf behind the park within minutes of landing so be aware of surroundings. We camped at Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Aspen Grove RV Park, Alpine, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Small park being converted from mobile home to RV. Site had plenty of room from next and was fairly level. Good power water pressure high and sewer. In a pretty area convenient to Jackson without the exorbitant prices. Great as a base to explore the area. Road noise during day but we were gone. Quiet at night. Some full time residents in the remaining trailers but everyone was nice. Beautiful trails right across the road for walking and dogs. Would stay here again. We camped at Aspen Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mountain Valley RV Resort, Heber City, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is a newer "RV resort". Very clean and seems to be well maintained. Landscaping is perfect. It's kind of sterile and I really had a hard time feeling comfortable here. Sites are cement with nice grass, close together and uniform. Water pressure is very high but they will sell you a regulator upon check-in if you don't have one. In my mind it's the "Stepford" of RV parks. If you like a "resort" atmosphere you'll probably like it. They have a nice, grassy dog run area but our dogs like to walk on a leash and there really isn't anywhere other than on the roads around the park to do that. It was a good place to spend the night being the state campgrounds in the area are fully booked long ahead. They state they have a 15 year rule for RVs and ask for pictures for approval if your unit is older. Not my cup of tea but I appreciate what they're trying to do. We camped at Mountain Valley RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated), Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Park is operated by a concessionaire to the NPS. They do a good job of keeping it clean and well maintained. Stayed in a pull thru with 50amp service, water & sewer. Sites are reasonably spaced considering you are in the Grand Canyon park. Shuttle buses arrive at park every 30 minutes and take you anywhere you wish. Market, post office and bank is within walking distance. Our only issue is with parents who allow their little ones to ride bicycles back and forth in front of others site. There are bike paths- Let them go ride somewhere. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Catalina State Park, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2014
Overall Rating:

Although the park is only 3 miles from our home we stay here frequently. In a beautiful desert setting at the foot of the Santa Catalina mountains it's a great place to enjoy the outdoors while being within 10 minutes of every convenience (good restaurants, shopping, movie theater, etc) you may want or need. Great hiking, mountain biking. There is a stable on the premises if you care to ride horses. Facilities are exceptionally well maintained. Grounds are kept nicely and bathhouses are clean. Sites are paved, level and nicely spaced. 50 amp service and water at RV sites with a dump station at exit. Reservations can be made online and are probably necessary in peak season. There is an overflow lot where you can dry camp and wait for a vacancy to occur. We recommend the park to any of our friends who are travelling through or visiting and all of then love the place. We camped at Catalina State Park in a Motorhome.
