America's Best Campground, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

First the bad news. Not a good stay for us. Generally, the park is in need of repair, restoration, and modernization. The roads are in bad repair. The parking pads are not level, the gravel is thin, the electrical boxes are falling apart. WIFI is "free" but not worth the cost. The restrooms and showers were open but entry codes failed. Good news; great location. 4 TV stations with just antenna. Great Verizon service. Bottom line... do not make this place your first choice. We shall not return. We camped at America's Best Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Bull Shoals - White River State Park, Bull Shoals, Arkansas

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park. Most campsites are within a few feet of the White River and are level. Everything is first class. Plenty of space to maneuver. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Hookups are excellent. Verizon service works great. Lot's of wild life; eagles, deer, turkey, water foul. Good restaurants and shopping in Mountain Home. Perfect place for quiet and rest. Highly recommend. We camped at Bull Shoals - White River State Park in a Travel Trailer.

F. D. Roosevelt State Park, Pine Mountain, Georgia

Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

If there were full hookups, this park would be a ten. No sewer or television hookups. We arrived at dusk and did not know some campsites have gray water pits. Reservations get you a campsite but it's first come to get the best locations. Checking in is very easy. Staff very friendly. Hookups are old and need updating but worked well. Nice convenience store located in the park. Dump station accommodates three RVs at a time. We will return. We camped at F. D. Roosevelt State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Maxwell-Gunter AFB FamCamp (Military FamCamp), Maxwell Gunter AFB, Alabama

Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We camped three days and enjoyed every minute. This is a clean and well-maintained camp. Twenty local television stations. Very strong WiFi. Super nice laundry. Friendly staff. Campsites are level and full hookups are convenient. Beautiful lake and trails. Verizon service was excellent. Only negative is there is a paper mill several miles away and if the winds are strong there is a slight unpleasant odor at times. Also, there may be military aircraft in the area. But, for military folks this is the sound of freedom. We camped at Maxwell-Gunter AFB FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Travel Trailer.

Benchmark RV Park, Meridian, Mississippi

Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Benchmark is a nice place for an overnight stay. We had to change our arrival date and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. Verizon reception was excellent. Full hookups and level pads. There were 8 local TV stations available so we did not use the TV hook up. Wifi is available but is weak. If you need Wifi be certain to get a campsite close to the office. The park was about 90% full and felt crowded. The water hook up leaked slightly and the area around the water was muddy. Traffic can be heavy as you enter and exit the park. We would use again for a one day stay. We camped at Benchmark RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Edgar Evins State Park, Silver Point, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park. Wonderful two day stay. Unusual wooden ramps make very nice camping pads. Hookups were very well done. Only down point is no sewer hookup. Park is somewhat isolated. We were only a few feet from the river. Very clean. Narrow, looping, and somewhat steep road may mean difficult maneuvering for large rigs. No problem for our 21' camper. We will return. We camped at Edgar Evins State Park in a Travel Trailer.
