Winnemucca RV Park, Winnemucca, Nevada

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are mostly, if not all, pull-thru. Ground cover throughout is coarse gravel. Some trees. Quiet. Did not use the pool. A few cafe's nearby. Easy maneuvering in and out (we have a 38'). A good place to overnight. Close to I-80 but no highway noise. Good place to spend the night. Clean and quiet. We camped at Winnemucca RV Park in a Motorhome.

Village of Trees RV Resort, Declo, Idaho

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is clean and well organized. Sites are easy to pull into and out of. A host guides you directly to your site. Campground store has a cafe and also a large fuel stop (did not use). It is a very good overnight stop at a convenient spot near an Interstate Junction (I-86 & I-84) and nearby I-15. Sites are a bit close together but not objectionably so. Full time residents are numerous. A good overnight stop. I have stayed here twice. We camped at Village of Trees RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Whitestar Campground, Leadville, Colorado

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

The Sage loop has very few trees so very sunny and warm. While the campsites are very spacious & widely spaced, most of the other camp sites are within view. Reservations well (months) in advance are a must. The camp host does a great job of keeping track of those reservations and posting on each site signs indicating the current/next party, their duration of stay and the next party & their duration. No Hookups. Water is available from nearby spigots (must use a "water thief device" to Fill jerry cans and fresh water holding tanks). Sufficient number of restrooms-pit toilets. Campground is in a great location for any number of outdoor activities. Boat launch ramps were closed during our stay due to the fear of waterborne pests. Canoes and kayaks can be launched, however. I would gladly stay here again. We camped at Whitestar Campground in a Motorhome.

Canoe/kayak upper Twin Lake. Fishing in the Twin Lakes or nearby Arkansas River. River rafting. Hiking - Mount Elbert (14,439) is immediately to the north. Camp positioned equidistant between Buena Vista and Leadville.

Pioneer Trails RV Park, Anacortes, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Overall, Pioneer Trails is a very nice park and we look forward to staying again. It's location is perfect, on Fidalgo Island, very close to Anacortes. It is also close to the north end of Whidbey Island ( 20-30 min. via bridge). The surroundings are beautiful, carved out of the forest and kept quiet and clean by the courteous staff. We camped our 38' in the "B" section. Our ONLY issue was what I call "dirty" power in our site. It drove our surge protector nuts. I put a digital test meter on the power pedestal and tested voltage lower than 110. The amps (50) were there but not quite the voltage. I explained this to the staff and they immediately directed me to the newer "A" section of the park just a few steps away from our original site and the problem was solved. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't miss Washington Park or a day trip by ferry, either on foot or with your car, to the San Juan islands. Restaurants, groceries, shops and a ferry terminal to the San Juan Is. and Canada just a short distance away.
