Newport Dunes Waterfront RV Resort, Newport Beach, California

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

First of all, this review is from the perspective of a full time class A motorhomer. As to this park, you could certainly find much better but you probably can't pay more. It might be close to the beach but getting there is not at all easy. This place is a traffic nightmare. The beach at the resort is actually on a back bay and is probably manufactured. If you can see this so-called beach from your site, you are paying big time. Sites are very small. Parking is a big problem. The hookups are ancient and quite inconvenient. The reservation system employed by the front office defies logic. Staff attitude, at best, is quite indifferent. We have been here 30 days. My advice: unless you have a really compelling reason to stay here, keep going. We camped at Newport Dunes Waterfront RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Old American Kampground, Newport, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is another K/M park. Maintenance is just as bad as the others. Zero amenities here. Office staff tries hard but don't expect much. Lots of nice dirt and dust. More evidence that I wasted my money on a K/M membership. We camped at Old American Kampground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Newport is fairly short on just about everything. Even fishing was bad when we were here. My advice: keep going down the highway.

Indian Waters RV Resort & Cottages, Indio, California

Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Without a doubt, one of our favorite parks if not the most favorite. We are retired and are full-timers. Not for kids or campers. Lots of senior activities including water aerobics and pickleball (4 courts). We camped at Indian Waters RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Sits at the lower end of the Coachella Valley. Close to Palm Springs and the rest of the desert cities.

Mission Bay RV Resort, San Diego, California

Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Hard to describe. The park is quiet, clean, well patrolled, and well located. It is also dull and devoid of amenities. The beach access is limited. Lots of unused potential. Probably limited by San Diego zoning regulations. The park rules are rigidly observed even though the 5th wheel next to me was obviously storing tools and materials and actively running a business. Too many good parks out there at the same price, probably won't return. We camped at Mission Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.
