Virginia Beach KOA, Virginia Beach, Virginia

Date of Stay: November, 2014 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

This was a decent stay. We camped here for the weekend while visiting friends. The campground was very clean, but I felt that it was overpriced. They also charged per person which I also didn't like. The attendant behind the counter was a little slow and charged me for an extra person but I didn't feel like arguing over it for the $6. The jumper pads were a lot of fun and the camp ground was very pretty. We had a firepit in our spot which was really awesome. The store sold firewood but we were able to scavenge enough from the woods and around the campground without paying for it. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. Our site was nicely shaded by trees, as were most of the sites. Overall, this was a decent place to stay, but a little overpriced. Admin note: confirm collecting of firewood in campground and surrounding area is allowed. We camped at Virginia Beach KOA in a Motorhome.

Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground), Summerton, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This was the second park we ever stayed at. We were driving from Tampa, FL back to Washington, DC, and decided to stay here for the night. The service was impeccable. They didn't have a military discount but gave us a Good Sam discount instead. We got there late, and an employee stayed late to let us in and guide us to our campground. The place was extremely clean and well kept. We only stayed one night but we will definitely return and stay longer. It was absolutely beautiful. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We ate at Cracker Barrel right across the river because we got there a little too late and the local places were closed or closing. The food and service was outstanding.

Winter Quarters Pasco RV Resort, Lutz, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This was actually the first RV park we ever stayed in. We stayed here while visiting a friend who was getting married. The campground was very nice. There were a lot of permanent campers here. The grounds were clean and quiet, and the people were nice. We didn't use any of the amenities like the pool or shuffleboard but everything looked nice. This place isn't a vacation resort, but if you need a place to stay while passing through or visiting family/friends, this place is great! My only complaint was that the grass hadn't been mowed in awhile but they were mowing it as we were leaving. It appeared to have been at least a month of growth. There was a small concrete pad with a picnic table, and that was nice. We camped at Winter Quarters Pasco RV Resort in a Motorhome.
