Crooked Creek Campground (Private), Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

What a joy it's been spending a week here. The owner, is a wonderful person. The park is clean, a bit on the rustic side and thoroughly enjoyable. Our site had a big raised wooden patio covered with an outdoor carpet. Never have seen this before and really loved it. WIFI was the best I've ever had in an rv park. Everything worked well, and it is true that the 30 amp electric was not fully trustworthy. We had one hot day and were glad that we could run one AC unit. The small store had the basics, we drove 32 mi back to Pincher Creek to do grocery shopping. Would definitely come back again. Be sure to take the short hike in the rv park, Crooked Creek....see several beaver dams. We camped at Crooked Creek Campground (Private) in a Fifth Wheel.

Beaver Dam Golf and RV Resort, Madden, Alberta

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

What a beautiful RV park in the middle of gorgeous golf course. Very well maintained, good power. No shade at the RV sites, but 50 amp power so could run the a/c if needed. Very friendly camp hosts. Huge sites with huge grassy area behind the sites. It feels like you are camping in a park. We are not golfers, but speaking to others who were, they rated this a top 10 course. We had no WIFI, but could use the fast wifi in the clubhouse where there is also a cafe with very good food and good prices. Everyone in the park, employees and guests were so friendly. We were only there 4 nights and lots of folks were sad to see us go!!! They have a bring your own happy hour at 4 every afternoon and lots of folks bring really good snacks that they share. What a delightful place. We camped at Beaver Dam Golf and RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Lions Campground, Red Deer, Alberta

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful! Loved being here and wish our stay had been longer. When you enter the park, you'll stop at the desk to sign in. The drive to end of small road, turning right - the sites are long but very close together. The grass between sites is only 3-5' wide. But if you turn left, the sites are amazing. Long and very very wide giving one a feeling of privacy. Each site had a picnic table and a fire ring at the far back of the site. Many sites are seasonal folks who may or not be at the RV. On both ends of camp are the most wonderful old fashioned tent sites each one enclosed with trees and bushes. All sites, RV or otherwise were very level and hook-ups were easy. The park backs to the river and there is a wonderful walking path all along the river. We camped at Lions Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Downtown is very close by, not walking distance. And there is everything you could want. Big beautiful Safeway store. Go to Phil's behind Safeway for breakfast, lunch or a good ol' fashioned home cooked dinner.

Bow RiversEdge Campground, Cochrane, Alberta

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

What a wonderful RV park. Many other reviews tell the story so I'll just say, what a wonderful rv park. Our rate reflects that we were there during the Calgary Stampede and the park was full. The only surprising thing considering how spacious everything is, is that the laundry room is tiny for the number of washers and dryers they have which all worked well. $3 Loonies per load for wash and 3 for dry. The small town of Cochran is a funny place. Main street has an old hotel and lots of shops/restaurant and they are known for fabulous ice creme at McKay's. But the rest of town looks like it was just put up a year or so ago. Very clean, modern and lots of good services. The Safeway has a wonderful selection; and a great bakery (very hard to find nowadays) is Cob Bakery. Along with a lovely Starbucks and a smallish Wal-Mart. The off leash dog, walking, running path behind the park is amazing. Such well behaved dogs and a wonderful place for our fur babies. We were still able to pick up Dish Satellite from Montana. We camped at Bow RiversEdge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

McKay's in town for homemade icecream. Cob Bakery - wonderful Starbucks offers Clover. If you've never had a clover coffee (not made from clover, it's a reverse press process that gives the cleanest, freshest flavor), get one. You'll get hooked.

Riverview Campground, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

What a lovely park. You may be in an RV but you feel like you are "camping" in the great outdoors. The younger couple [mid-40s :)] who own this park bought it 17 years ago as a wonderful place to raise children and be a family. As many Canadians love camping, the park has many seasonal rigs and the people couldn't be friendlier. The sites are extremely long and wide with beautiful grass which you park on! Each site has a nice well maintained wood picnic table and a fire pit. The park is set up in 3 sections. Upper section with the office and store is 30 amp with water and sewer, the middle section is 50 amp with water but no sewer. There is a dump station and the park will pump out tanks any time you wish, cost is $20 Canadian. The lower section is 30 amp and laid out in a big loop. There is an outhouse and a very nice shower house and any number of kid play areas. All in all a truly lovely park. No wonder it was hard getting a reservation here last Feb.!! Now about wifi. Very slow. They offer premium fast wifi; $7.00 for 1 gig and $26 for 4 gig. I just love that they offer a choice. I paid the $7 Canadian and was booked for 3 days. When first accessing the "fast wifi", it worked well for about 2 hr. after that I had to re-log-in as often as every 15 minutes. Owner was very kind and re-booted the router whenever I called. I only called twice and just settled down to constantly re-log-in. Frustrating but at least I got my graduate degree class work accomplished. We truly appreciate the beauty of this park, the kindness of the owners and staff, and hope to be back again soon. We camped at Riverview Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Shelby RV Park & Resort, Shelby, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Resort? No way. But it is a nice place to spend a night as it is clean and has good views. Shelby is a small town that is struggling to remain alive and the folks are friendly and welcoming. The RV parking lot is on a hillside behind a Comfort Inn. Sites are gravel pull thrus with full hook up that worked well and a wooden picnic table. At night the entire area is lite up like a stadium. Had to put towels over windows to block out the light. Minor inconvenience. Access to the hotels amenities are available, but we didn't use. We'd definitely stay here again. Nice Albertson's Grocery in town. Beautiful veterans memorial built up walking path from our site. Very lovely. We camped at Shelby RV Park & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Siding 36 Motel and RV Park, White Lake, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Yes this is a basic Campground along side of RT90 - but made for a perfect stop for us during a long road trip. Flat long sites with easy access even for big rigs (44' 5ver). A few sites have trees/shade but most are wide open with full hook up. Highway noise was not an issue for the nights we stayed and I don't think it would be overall as there is some space between the highway and the camp area. We camped at Siding 36 Motel and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Badlands Interior Motel & Campground, Interior, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

RV park is just outside the south entrance to Badlands National Park. It has the look of a rustic old west town with lots of grass and few trees. We pull a 43 ft 5th wheel with a large F350 dually extended cab & extended bed. Electric Pedestal is shared by two sites so you may need extra long electric cables. First site they put us in barely long enough for our RV with no place to put our truck. The middle row in this park has sites easily 70 feet long so so we asked to be moved just one row behind. Took a little bit of negotiations but we ended up in site 23 which was really long. Lanes and sites have a deep cover of large gravel with grass on both sides and a nice plastic picnic table and fire pit, some shade trees, as well as motel rooms, two small cabins and 1 bare tee pee. The location is lovely, the wonderful views all around. Utilities worked well however if you wanted a sewer hook-up, you can only get 30 amp. The 50 amp sites are electric and water only. Interior is not a town. Be sure to stock up before you get here as the tiny grocery store is minimal at best, there is one or two bar grill restaurants with typical bar menus. Close by is the Visitors Center which does have a nice restaurant. The closest grocery store is in Wall. The Wall Drugstore cafe is very well managed and food is good. Coffee just 5 cents! We camped at Badlands Interior Motel & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Creekside RV Park and Campground, Chappell, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

What a darling rv park/campground. This feels like a real small community campground. Open and full of green grass beside a beautiful creek. The funny part is that there is a huge grain mill beside the park and yes, it does emit of soft humming sound (not disturbing) and the train is literally right beside the park as well. It travels though quite frequently sounding it's horn once. I thought it would be horribly disturbing, but it wasn't. We camped at Creekside RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Grand Island KOA, Doniphan, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Grand Island KOA, Grand Island, NE June 2019 Easy off the highway and in the middle of corn fields. Park is very clean and well kept up. Our campsite was grassy and graveled with a shade tree, as were quite a few of the sites. Our campsite was fairly spacious but our neighbor's sewer was only about 9' from our steps and it was 9 or 10' out from the side of his rig...weird set up having the utility hook up in the center of the space. No idea why any park would be designed like this....but other than that one minor issue, we totally enjoyed this park. Pool looks lovely though we didn't use it. Laundry room very clean, big machines, washing is $2.00 per load and dryers are $1.00 for 20 min. Although the camp store is small they make wings and pizzas on site and deliver them to your camper and they host a park dinner on Thursdays. There was also a nice playground and a grassy off leash dog park. Rate: 50 amp FHU $46.00/nite We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Holiday RV Park, North Platte, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Loved this park...so green with big trees and well maintained sites. Close to highway, but noise was a distant hum...no problem. Rate was $40/night for long gravel pull-through (level) and we received a 5% discount for paying by check!. We really enjoyed everything about this park, about North Platt and wished we'd reserved for more than just 2 nights. Cable was amazing - 60 channels! Seasonal rigs are parked around the perimeter and some of these folks go all out making their sites beautiful. Lots of place to walk dogs, but no fenced in dog run. They've got plenty of room, but maybe don't realize how important it is to use who have happy exuberant fur babies. Pool looked inviting and kids playground was right out of the 50s...nostalgic memories of summer fun as a kid. We camped at Holiday RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA , Fort Collins, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

It's been two years since we were last here and this park, as well as the town of Fort Collins, is still as lovely as it was then. I've nothing but good to say about this park. Pulling in Friday evening was such a joy as we could hear children's laughter and see lots of kiddos ridding around the beautiful property on bikes. The afternoon and evening under the stars felt like a real "kids summer vacation" with lots of parents laughing right along. Sure wish I'd had this experience as a kid and am full of gratitude to be getting it now. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Dakota Ridge RV Park, Golden, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Alert: There are very few full hookup RV parks in the Denver area and we are thankful to have found this one. Upon making our May reservation back in February, the front desk person was very upfront with this parks policies - 50% deposit upfront and non-refundable if canceling for any reason. Every business has a right to set their policies. And we made the reservation knowing full well that we would lose the deposit should we need to cancel. We do not understand other RVer's complaining about this. Due to a major snow storm traveling east into Denver area requiring chains, we had to push our visit out two days thereby shortening our stay to only three nights. The park folks were very understanding and helpful. We pull a 43 ft fifth wheel with an F350 Dually Truck and had back-in site #M6. The concrete pad was perfectly level with easy to access the utilities. Check in was easy and fast. Staff was very helpful and friendly. There are busy streets on each side of the park but with a small fan running, we had no trouble sleeping. Sitting outside, the noise is much more noticeable but one tunes it out quickly and one can relax and enjoy the beautiful view of green hills all around. The laundry room is large, airy and clean. A load of washing and drying runs $4.50. Fairly good WIFi. Good coverage with our AT&T cell and data; as well as Verizon broadband WIFI. And, our satellite worked well. Park has a nice kids' playground, plus plenty of grass areas for running around as well as pool and hot tub, small store and gym. One rule that I've never seen in any other rv park is that a $15 permit is required if you want to wash your rig! I'm assuming this is due to the drought that Colorado has been experiencing. Dog Park - no fenced in off-leash dog area in this park. There is a dog walk up the small hill behind the park. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA, Silt, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

We pull a 43 ft fifthwheel with an F350 Dually Truck and sites are wide enough to park next to your RV and still have your awnings and slides out. Most other parks would have double the number of sites but this one provides huge grass areas between each site!! Checkin was easy and fast. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Other RVers were really friendly. The site (#31) was PERFECTLY level!! Our site backs up to the river so very little road noise (there is road noise at the front of the park but not bad) There is more road noise on the West side because the park curves a bit so those sites are closer to the highway. This park offers absolutely lovely cabins of various sizes plus big teepees!!. The park is on a sandy surface with a light dusting of gravel on the laneways. We are here in May - last snow was about 10 days ago so no dust at this time of year. The site is gravel with a picnic table. The depth of the gravel pad differs per site. Nice trees but still small. The sites are very wide which is really nice. Utilities worked well. Pretty good WIFi and nice Cable TV. Good coverage with AT&T cell and data; as well as Verizon broadband wifi. And, our satellite worked well. No begs. Park has a nice kids' playground, plus plenty of grass areas for running around. Pool and Spa just built and not open yet. Really nice splash park for the kids is being built now. They have the best K9 Kamp I've seen. Huge, fenced in with thick soft grass for running and playing off leash. I'd recommend this to anyone who needs to stay a day or two in the area or for a family vacation. We camped at Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
