My wife and I started RVing in 2006 in a rented Class C. Bought a travel trailer in 2007 and traded it on a Class C in 2008. To date we have visited 48 states and 5 Canadian Provence. We are both in our 80's and still going strong. I'm a retired electrical engineer and the boss is a retired stay at home mom. We have 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grands

Marion Campground & RV Park, Marion, Illinois
Date of Stay:
May, 2017 -
$32.00
Overall Rating:
This is a small park with good shade, full service, level sites and friendly staff. Close proximity to the Interstate but noise is not a problem. Our original plan was to stay 4 nights and tour southern IL. When removing the cover from the windshield I fell and broke my left heel. We stayed an additional 9 nights until our son could fly us and drive us home. Park only charged us $100 for extra nights. They had a handicap shower which came in handy We camped at Marion Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bristol / Kingsport KOA, Blountville, Tennessee
Date of Stay:

Overall Rating:
This is not your typical KOA. Sites are not level and are packed together. Interior roads are steep and you can drag your RV back end. Rate was after I used Reward Points. This was an overnight stop. Will not stay here again. We camped at Bristol / Kingsport KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this park in 2008 before sewer was available. The sites are now full hookup and this is one of the nicest state parks we have stayed in on our travels. Beautiful lake with boat ramp. Very quiet at night. No road noise. Stayed only 2 nights. Next time I'll take my boat and stay 2 weeks. We camped at Paintsville Lake Campgrounds in a Motorhome.
Country Music Highway Museum is located in Paintsville and Loretta Lynn's Butcher Holler home is near by.

Cardinal Center Campground, Marengo, Ohio
Date of Stay:
June, 2016 -
$33.00
Overall Rating:
Large campground, nicely maintained, lots of activities, basic to deluxe sites. The campground is next to and part of a large trap shooting range. A meet was scheduled the week following our visit. Don't know if the noise would be a problem during the day. Shooting is aimed away from the campground. Would stay again. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Motorhome.
Location is convenient to Mansfield and Columbus.

Indian Creek RV & Camping Resort, Geneva, Ohio

Overall Rating:
Mostly seasonal sites. Short term sites are way over priced. Long slow drive from public road to our camping site. The camp sites were not jammed together and were level. We stayed 3 nights. Due to price, we would not stay again. We camped at Indian Creek RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.
Geneva-on-the-Lake is a resort town on Lake Erie. This is Ohio wine country with plenty of wineries. Many covered bridges. Many interesting lake side communities to visit.

Logan / Hocking Hills KOA , Logan, Ohio
Date of Stay:
June, 2016 -
$45.00
Overall Rating:
We were in the area to visit the Hocking Hills State Park and this KOA is very convenient to the state park. Our site was a deluxe site and had a paved patio, gas grill and bench swing. The site was level, but the park is quite hilly, but you are is a hilly terrain section of Ohio. There is a K9 park, which our mutt enjoyed. We enjoyed our 4 night stay and would stay again. The access road is rough, but is not owned by the KOA park. Staff was friendly and escorted us to our site. We camped at Logan / Hocking Hills KOA in a Motorhome.
The purpose of our stay was to visit the Hocking Hills State Park. Excellent walking trails with rock formations, streams, water falls and plants. The town of Logan, Ohio is nearby. Be sure to visit the washboard factory.
