Paul B. Johnson State Park, Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed in Cabin #1 for 4 days, and walked through the campground area next to the area. The park is clean, & quiet, but the campsites just seemed a little too close to one another. There are a few with shade, but not many. Did not use the comfort station. The cabin was clean but was very abused. It needs to be updated badly. The staff was wonderful. We couldn't get used to the unsupervised use of prisoners to collect garbage, though we had no problems. We camped at Paul B. Johnson State Park in a Cabin.

Acadiana Park Campground, Lafayette, Louisiana

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We made a reservation for one of the pull thru sites available. We stayed during the Acadian et Creole Festival. The drive in made us nervous because we are 13'6" high & the only way to the park is through a neighborhood. We had no problems with getting through! The park is very shaded and the park was clean. No wifi, but you are close enough to Lafayette to get all the main air/free channels. There was no sewage hook up at the site, but there was a dump station. The Park attendant was nice and the price was right. The roads are very tight and larger RV's will have a difficult time navigating them. It was nice, we will be back!!! We camped at Acadiana Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Grand Isle State Park, Grand Isle, Louisiana

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This was a very clean park. We had nice neighbors, a gulf breeze, and clean bathrooms. It is hard to find public restrooms kept as clean as these, I am impressed. The beach had a little bit of litter, other than that the park was spotless.

It was quiet at night. The staff was very sweet and accommodating, (except for one grumpy host, but I figure he was just having a bad day).

The fishing pier was awesome, I spent most of one whole day there crabbing & fishing. We will be back!! We camped at Grand Isle State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
