Wood Lake RV Park and Marina, Lake Country, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We called ahead to confirm that we didn't need a reservation and that there were sites large enough for a 35' motorhome with 3 slides and a towcar. When we arrived we were given 3 sites to go and look at and were told to park in the one we wanted. There was a line of traffic and we weren't able to move our rig, so we walked to preview the sites. Only 1 site could accommodate the rig so I returned to the office and paid for that particular site. We were then able to move our rig out of the line and headed to the site only to find that someone else had occupied it. On returning to the office we were told it is given to whoever parks in it first! It didn't matter that I had already paid for it!! We were given more sites to look at only to find them either too small or not level. We tried one site and the gravel was so deep and loose that we couldn't level the motorhome. Out of desperation and exhaustion we settled on a dirt site that was too short for the motorhome but since no one else was parked nearby we could maneuver in and out. The young girls at the reception obviously are not familiar with the particular needs of different types and sizes of RVs. The park is rustic with a lot of small sites that were packed tight especially near the water. There are tree branches that make it difficult for big rigs to drive through the park. If you do decide to stay here, the sites are larger near the entrance gate (which we only found out the next day when we walked the whole park). Reserve your site if you are sure it is appropriate for your needs. We camped at Wood Lake RV Park and Marina in a Motorhome.

Golden Golf Club RV Park, Golden, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

A previous review indicated pull thru sites. We called to check but there was no answer and no reply to our message. After a long travel day we decided to drive directly to the park only to find they don't have pull thru sites. We were too tired to go elsewhere so reluctantly disconnected for a short overnight stay. The Rv park has expanded and there are lots of new sites in varying sizes. They are all power only sites and for some reason the power pedestal is at the front of the sites not at the back (so be sure you have a long extension). The park was quiet and staff were friendly. The golf course looked to be in very good condition although we didn't golf. The location is about 6 km from downtown. We camped at Golden Golf Club RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

6 km to town. The golf club has a small restaurant although we didn't try it. The drive in on the very narrow bridge is tight so be sure you know your landmarks on a big rig. Paved road to the golf course and Gravel road in and around the Rv sites.

Malheur County Fairgrounds, Ontario, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Passport America rate is now $15/night. Still a bargain for 30 or 50 amp and water. There is a sanidump right outside the fairground front gate with easy access. The rv sites are all grassed, level, no pavement, no tables. No pull thru sites but since there weren't any other RV there we took up 2 spots so we didn't have to disconnect. Quiet location. A bonus is we got to watch young people practice riding and roping on the fairgrounds. We camped at Malheur County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Happy Time RV Park, Dunnigan, California

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very old park on gravel dusty sites in need of major upgrading. No picnic table or fire rings. Quite a few old full time rigs. The amenity buildings for laundry and showers were so scarey looking that we didn't go in. The buildings were falling apart and hadn't been painted in many years.

The park is between I-5 and railway tracks, therefore noisy. The new manager was very nice and helpful. There is a swimming pool on site but it was closed for the season. Power was good and cable tv was also good. We camped at Happy Time RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

No place to walk and there is no actual town here. Just a spot to sleepover with a Pilot gas station and a Wendy's.

Jim & Mary's RV Park, Missoula, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We made a reservation the same day as our arrival. I asked if it was necessary as we would be there in a few hours and was told it was very busy so best to reserve. I was not told that we would have to pay the full price if we cancelled and only found out when they sent confirmation of our reservation by email. We arrived to find many empty rv sites.

The park environment is tidy and the sites are spacious.

The park is a 15 minute drive on the interstate from downtown Missoula so don't expect to walk there.

Our biggest issue is the noise. Trains seem to run all night and so sleep is disrupted. Plus the barking dogs....the neighbor Rv had 2 small dogs that barked frequently and a neighbor across the road had dogs that barked. Needless to say we didn't sleep much and were very disappointed in our stay. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Acadiana Park Campground, Lafayette, Louisiana

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We researched the RV campgrounds in the area and this was the best value at $20./nite. It is a county park and very quiet at this time of year (Feb). Only 3 of us in the campground so we had our pick of sites. Our campsite was a large pull through site and large paved area so easily accommodated our 35' foot RV and tow car. The other sites are various sizes. Park has some beautiful big oak trees. The campground manager was helpful and informative. There is an educational nature walk. We camped at Acadiana Park Campground in a Motorhome.
