Hampton Beach State Park, Hampton, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of those parks you hate to leave. We were here for a couple of nights and loved the area and the park itself. It was FCFS and we lucked into site 15 which has an unobstructed view of the harbor and ocean. Site is back-in right on the water. Fire pit, picnic table and FHU. Verizon service was very good. If we are back in this area we would definitely stay here again. We camped at Hampton Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Kampfires Campground, Inn and Entertainment, Dummerston, Vermont

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here 2 nights and enjoyed our experience. We were in the 'back forty' by ourselves. Site was small gravel with FHU. Verizon service was good and we had a couple of OTA tv channels. Laundry/restroom facility was nice with a couple of washers and dryers. We would stay again. We camped at Kampfires Campground, Inn and Entertainment in a Travel Trailer.

Glimmerglass State Park, Cooperstown, New York

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We reserved site 5 on Reserveamerica, evidently there is a 'glitch' in the system and they were going to put us on site 7 which was too short. The management moved us to site 17 which was great. Opening weekend so park was packed with lots of kids and dogs. Was quiet at night though, rain might have had something to do with that. We might stay here again if in the area. We camped at Glimmerglass State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Penn Avon Campground, Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here a couple of nights passing through. The campground is located on a river and is flat. Sites were gravel and we had a FHU back-in, which was easy to get into. Cable tv was excellent along with the other hookups. Folks were nice and we enjoyed our stay. We would stop here again if in the area. We camped at Penn Avon Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Shenandoah River State Park, Bentonville, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here a couple of nights and it is a beautiful area. The roads in are steep and the site was not particularly level. We stayed in a gravel pull-through and could see the mountains. No Verizon or OTA TV, which we are beginning to think is the criteria Virginia uses for selecting a state park. The bath/laundry house was very functional and washer/dryer was .75 cents. Our site had electric and water. We camped at Shenandoah River State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Sherando Lake Recreation Area, Lyndhurst, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here a couple of nights and it is a beautiful campground. Area is remote and no OTA tv or Verizon enjoyed disconnecting for a few days. Site was sand and small gravel and was long enough even though it was only rated for 32' rv. We were in Loop C. We camped at Sherando Lake Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Medoc Mountain State Park, Hollister, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Enjoyed our 2 night stay over the weekend, with that said the restroom facilities get quite a bit of use and it shows. Quiet area and dollar general is the closest thing around. Good OTA tv, Verizon was sketchy one or two bars of 3G or 4G if you were lucky. Need a long water hose for some sites in order to fill your tank. 12 of the sites are electric, the others have no hookups at the site. Beautiful campground and we had several pink lady slipper flowers within 20' of our site. Some of the sites aren't as accommodating as advertised with steep angles of entry and exit (dump site included). We would stop in again if in the area. We camped at Medoc Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Bass Lake RV Campground, Dillon, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Pros: near I-95; gated. Cons: noise from I-95; site was sand and tree roots; lots of permanent residents. Would not stay more than one night, the 8+ rating fooled us into this stay. Average rating is being generous. We camped at Bass Lake RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Givhans Ferry State Park, Ridgeville, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay here while visiting family in Summerville. Nice camping feel and quiet at night. Roomy site, as stated by others roads and sites are sand so can be messy. Decent OTA tv, but Verizon is poor unless you walk down to the office area. We would stay again. We camped at Givhans Ferry State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Little Ocmulgee State Park, McRae, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

First time here and we really enjoyed the park. We got a FHU site, which was nice, but it was not level at all (only FHU available). They were transitioning to a site specific reservation system and we were caught in that transition. They have a great cable tv selection which is unusual at state parks we've visited. If you play golf the course looked amazing. They were remodeling the lodge and we didn't try their restaurant. Verizon was 2 bars and it gets stretched thin on weekends when the park fills up. We would stay here again (on a different site) if we pass back through. We camped at Little Ocmulgee State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park, Micanopy, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 1 night passing through the area, but have made reservations to go back. Been in tighter, just have to be careful. Plenty of sites big enough for a 40ft rig. Foliage between sites and generally all sites are very shady. Not much OTA tv and 2 bars of Verizon. Close to I-75 at hwy 234 exit. Camp hosts were nice and facilities were clean. We camped at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rainbow Springs State Park, Dunnellon, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Enjoyed our stay here. FHU and a variety of sites from sunny to very shaded, ours was sunny which was fine in March. Dunnellon is such a nice little town and the park is divided by the Rainbow river which originates at the spring. A few OTA TV channels and a couple of bars of Verizon service. Washer/dryers were reasonable at $1.25 each. We would stay here again. We camped at Rainbow Springs State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We were here 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. Nice site with some shade, quiet park (unless dragway is open). Verizon service was good and OTA tv was great. Power was only 30 amp. Beach is about 25 miles away. Publix is about 6 miles away and Walmart is under 10 miles. Nice day use area by the lake. We would stay here again if in the area. Koreshan State Historic Site, Estero, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

We spent 4 nights here. Found the campground area to be generally overgrown, sites were closely spaced and we needed 4 wheel drive to get into the site's loose sand. The positives were the nearness of several beaches and the historic area at the park. We had good Verizon service and great OTA tv. We would camp here again if we could get a different site. We camped at Koreshan State Historic Site in a Travel Trailer.

Midway Campground - Big Cypress National Preserve, Ochopee, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Stopped here on our way out of the Florida Keys. As everyone has said, make sure you have your food and supplies because it is quite a drive to the nearest store. Nice campground with electric hookup only. Have to get water as you pull in unless you carry it with you. Sites are paved and most are 90 degree back-in. Campsite hosts are great and will let you piggy-back their phone booster (Verizon). Sometimes we could make a call from the trailer, but generally very limited connectivity. Great spot in the Big Cypress Preserve which we love. Bottom line good for a stop over spot on your way across Florida or coming/going to the keys. We camped at Midway Campground - Big Cypress National Preserve in a Travel Trailer.
