Carroll's Sausage and Country Store RV Park, Ashburn, Georgia

Date of Stay: November, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Like others we stayed overnight on our way further South. All sites are pull through and we were in site 7 which was level and had good utilities. We ran the fan at night for white noise and our bedroom slide was away from the interstate. Hard to beat the deal $30 with $10 coupon back, haven't eaten the smoked pork chops yet. They were in the process of spreading some gravel on the interior roads. We will definitely stop again. We camped at Carroll's Sausage and Country Store RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Wildwood Park, Appling, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful campground and enjoyed our stay. We were in area 1 and had a great site on the water. Make sure you use some type of ant deterrent because they are plentiful. Site was small gravel and sand. OTA TV was good along with Verizon and decent wifi during the week. Place fills up on weekends. About 25 miles from Augusta and 14 miles to Evans. Only complaint would be trash in firepit, we looked around and it was a common issue. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Wildwood Park in a Travel Trailer.

Hagerstown / Antietam Battlefield KOA, Williamsport, Maryland

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 2 nights over a weekend as we traveled through the area. The folks at the store/check-in were nice. As others have mentioned it is crowded on weekends and very much overpriced, but they are the only game in town. Cramped site not enough room (or level enough) to put out chairs. We had a pull through which wasn't long enough for the truck and trailer had to park the truck at an angle beside the trailer. No wifi available at site. Very sloped and did I mention cramped. Limited analog cable TV. Basically no bang for the buck at this campground. We would never stay here again. We camped at Hagerstown / Antietam Battlefield KOA in a Travel Trailer.

TripleBrook Family Campground, Blairstown, New Jersey

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed overnight passing through the area. Interior roads are very narrow and steep in places. We were in the hilltop loop in back and the site was on grass and needed quite a bit of leveling material. Folks in office were nice, we had a few OTA TV channels, and we had 3 bars of Verizon 4G. We camped at TripleBrook Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here 2 nights passing through was pleased to get their Fall discount. Site was a very long pull through, cable channels were limited, and Verizon was decent. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at New York City North / Newburgh KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Ginny B Campground, Foster, Rhode Island

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 2 nights passing through the area. We enjoyed our stay and we were pleased with the campground. Our site was grass and very level and also had FHUs. We were able to get a few OTA TV channels as well as 3 bars of Verizon. Never did get WiFi to work. There are a lot of seasonal folks, but everyone we encountered was nice. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Ginny B Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Winter Island Park Campground, Salem, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

An old Coastguard station that is now a campground; however, the location and views are great. We were in site 53, which I do not recommend due to the slope and would be awful in the rain since it is dirt and grass. If you can snag a waterfront site they are level, but located on the asphalt parking lot. The surrounding area has great views of Salem harbor and a lighthouse. There is no sewer or dump at the park, you have to go to the waste water facility nearby. Even with the issues we would stay again. Good OTA tv and 3 bars of Verizon 4G. We camped at Winter Island Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Hampton Beach State Park, Hampton, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of those parks you hate to leave. We were here for a couple of nights and loved the area and the park itself. It was FCFS and we lucked into site 15 which has an unobstructed view of the harbor and ocean. Site is back-in right on the water. Fire pit, picnic table and FHU. Verizon service was very good. If we are back in this area we would definitely stay here again. We camped at Hampton Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here 2 nights and enjoyed our experience. We were in the 'back forty' by ourselves. Site was small gravel with FHU. Verizon service was good and we had a couple of OTA tv channels. Laundry/restroom facility was nice with a couple of washers and dryers. We would stay again. We camped at Kampfires Campground, Inn and Entertainment in a Travel Trailer.

Glimmerglass State Park, Cooperstown, New York

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We reserved site 5 on Reserveamerica, evidently there is a 'glitch' in the system and they were going to put us on site 7 which was too short. The management moved us to site 17 which was great. Opening weekend so park was packed with lots of kids and dogs. Was quiet at night though, rain might have had something to do with that. We might stay here again if in the area. We camped at Glimmerglass State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here a couple of nights passing through. The campground is located on a river and is flat. Sites were gravel and we had a FHU back-in, which was easy to get into. Cable tv was excellent along with the other hookups. Folks were nice and we enjoyed our stay. We would stop here again if in the area. We camped at Penn Avon Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Shenandoah River State Park, Bentonville, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here a couple of nights and it is a beautiful area. The roads in are steep and the site was not particularly level. We stayed in a gravel pull-through and could see the mountains. No Verizon or OTA TV, which we are beginning to think is the criteria Virginia uses for selecting a state park. The bath/laundry house was very functional and washer/dryer was .75 cents. Our site had electric and water. We camped at Shenandoah River State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Stayed here a couple of nights and it is a beautiful campground. Area is remote and no OTA tv or Verizon enjoyed disconnecting for a few days. Site was sand and small gravel and was long enough even though it was only rated for 32' rv. We were in Loop C. We camped at Sherando Lake Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Medoc Mountain State Park, Hollister, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Enjoyed our 2 night stay over the weekend, with that said the restroom facilities get quite a bit of use and it shows. Quiet area and dollar general is the closest thing around. Good OTA tv, Verizon was sketchy one or two bars of 3G or 4G if you were lucky. Need a long water hose for some sites in order to fill your tank. 12 of the sites are electric, the others have no hookups at the site. Beautiful campground and we had several pink lady slipper flowers within 20' of our site. Some of the sites aren't as accommodating as advertised with steep angles of entry and exit (dump site included). We would stop in again if in the area. We camped at Medoc Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pros: near I-95; gated. Cons: noise from I-95; site was sand and tree roots; lots of permanent residents. Would not stay more than one night, the 8+ rating fooled us into this stay. Average rating is being generous. We camped at Bass Lake RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.
