Morgan Park, Niagara, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this place! It is an exceptional county park near a small lake. About 6 miles off hwy 8 on a paved county road. Self-service, you need to make reservations online or via phone, there is no office onsite. This park can accommodate rigs of all sizes. There are back-in as well as pull-through sites available. Our wooded gravel pull-through site was very large with a firepit and picnic table. No need to unhook our tow. So spacious that you can't even see your neighbors. Only downside was 50 amp power only, no water at the site. Nearby dump station, water spigots and brand new large shower house with many separate private shower rooms. Very quiet and peaceful. We heard coyotes yipping nearby so keep your dogs close. Adequate AT&T signal - 2 bars. No OTA TV reception. There are convenience stores and a couple restaurants within 10 minutes. We would definitely stay here again on our fall foliage tour of WI and MI. We camped at Morgan Park in a Motorhome.

Adrian Municipal Park, Adrian, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This place is a hidden gem. Beautiful park like setting, green grass and mature shade trees with lots of activities available. Great for an overnight stop. Nice wide pull through or back in sites. I like the circular design. A couple of restaurants within walking distance and lots of areas to walk around the park with your dog. We weren't bothered by the highway noise. We had site 1a as we wanted a 50 amp pull through. We had to circle around and take a dirt side road to pull in to that particular spot. Google maps did take us to the wrong spot in town - this park is right behind the Cenex station just off I-90. The only downside, this is in a farming community and we did note a manure smell when outside. We camped at Adrian Municipal Park in a Motorhome.

Mountain View RV Park & Campground, Sundance, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We were looking for an overnight stop and found limited options in this area due to nearby Sturgis Bike week. This park had one spot left so we booked it, the price we paid reflects their bike week pricing. Very nice park. Neat and clean with helpful friendly owners. They are located in an odd area, behind a mini-storage with houses on three sides. I was a bit apprehensive when we first turned onto their road but ended up being ok. They are on a gently sloping hill, looking out over the top of the houses below there is a great vista - prairie and mountains. Due to the hillside slope, a lot of leveling is required but it's doable. We ended up staying an extra night to look around the area. The first night we were in a gravel pull through site on the lower tier of the park and your neighbors are very close. The next night we moved to a back in site in the upper tier. More spacious with grass, trees, a picnic table and a better view of the far off mountains. Parking for our tow was a bit tight in both spots. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Mountain View RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Drove the loop from CG past Devil's Tower to Spearfish-beautiful. Gently rolling hills with some S-curves and great scenery - rock formations, streams. Took the Scenic Canyon drive from Spearfish to Cheyenne Crossing, had the most delicious Indian Tacos. Lots of bikers doing the same but it wasn't an issue for us. We enjoyed seeing what bike week is all about. Museum in Sundance was also very interesting.

Yellowstone's Edge RV Park, Livingston, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

It started to rain when we arrived and they sprinted over to help us check in and pull into our spot. Excellent service. Beautiful location that is well maintained. Nice area to walk your dog or sit and relax along the river. Office had gift shop and some necessities (a few groceries and reasonably priced cold beer and wine). Nice bonfire lit by the office with a circle of chairs each evening, met some really nice people there. Since this is a more expensive RV park, most of the rigs were more high end. They are right next to the highway but not much traffic on it at night so the noise wasn't an issue for us. The one thing I noted as the staff in the office didn't have any tips or suggestions about touring Yellowstone NP nor did they have any literature about it in their brochure rack. Fortunately when we asked, a long term guest who was standing there offered some tips about how to organize our visit to the park. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Yellowstone's Edge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

During peak summer season, enter Yellowstone NP by 5:30-6 AM to get parking at Grand Prismatic and Old Faithful. Otherwise you may have to drive around or wait. There is construction at the north end but our delay was only about 10 minutes. Matt's old fashioned meat market in LIvingston had great meat, we brought home some nice Montana steaks etc. Great beef sticks as well.

Kinetic Exhibition Park, Swift Current, Saskatchewan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Not many choices in this remote area. It is located in a fairgrounds. There are self-check in stations and had a city worker not driven up while we were at the check in stand I don't think we would've found where the camping sites were as it is not well marked and there are a lot of buildings to drive around. The CG for larger rigs is in the far left corner of the grounds behind several buildings. There was only one other rig there when we arrived. There is a mix of 30 and 50 amp so you have to look at the posts to find 50 amp if that is what you need. We were told the sites were back in but since no one else was there, we pulled in at an angle between two sites and did not unhook our tow. Self-register is cash only, $35 in either US or CAD. OK for a cheap quick overnight. We camped at Kinetic Exhibition Park in a Motorhome.

Glacier Meadow RV Park, East Glacier Park, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

First off, in reading the other reviews it appears that several of them are not about this park. It is near the East entrance, there is no restaurant on site nor is there an upgraded type of site with a patio. We liked this location, it was low key, had beautiful views of the mountains in the meadow sites and felt very safe. There was some faint train sounds and we could see the headlight of the train as it progressed slowly in the dark through the trees on a nearby mountain side. Reminded me of Polar Express. We asked about a bonfire and the manager quickly brought us a nice portable fire pit and wood. He also gave us tips on how to make the most of our limited time at Glacier NP. We would stay here again. We camped at Glacier Meadow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We came down from Banff along hwy 93, one of the most beautiful drives we've ever had. Should have stayed at the west entrance but worked out ok. We just saw the south end of the park again along hwy 2 after we did the Going to the Sun drive. There is a lot of road construction at the beginning of the east entrance until Oct 2019. Delay was only about 10 minutes early in the morning.

Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground, Banff National Park, Alberta

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a great value in a beautiful setting, surrounded by mountain views and tall trees. If you visit during a time that is less busy and have a choice of sites, I would say that the 1oo and 200 numbered rows offer the best views of the mountains. Locate your sewer before pulling completely in. This will allow you to maximize your patio area which is somewhat limited due to the slope. As you go up the terraced slope, more trees block the views a bit. We booked our July visit the first week in January the day the reservation window opened. We had to take whatever site was available during this busiest month. So worth it! Take any site you can, this is a great experience. The tunnel mountain hike is a unique experience with great views of both sides of the mt. Keep going until you see the red chairs, which are placed throughout parks at great viewpoints. Worried about leaving our dog in our MH all day while visiting Lake Louise, brought her along and found that dogs aren't allowed on the shuttle bus. We were told to go up to the lot by the chalet to wait for a spot. Be there before 8 AM for parking near the lake. We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground in a Motorhome.

Roughrider Campground, Minot, North Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Our rig was clean until we pulled in here, very dry and dusty roads. Office staff was nice. Our site was in a new addition in the back, the entire area was covered with large river rock. No grass or trees just rock everywhere. A bit hard for humans and pets to walk on. It was a hot afternoon and we baked on those rocks. There were more trees in the older part of the CG, some roads a bit tight. There appeared to be a fair number of permanents. IMO was overpriced. We wouldn't stay here again. We camped at Roughrider Campground in a Motorhome.

Red River State Recreation Campground, East Grand Forks, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is an excellent park. Spacious with green grass and nice biking and walking trails. Our only issue was with the check in process. I checked online several days in advance and noted many open spots for our Sunday night stopover. There was an additional $10 fee to make an advance online reservation and I couldn't see paying $50 for a one night stay ($33 camping plus $7 state park feeJ so thought we could just pay when we got there. When we arrived the early afternoon, the park office was closed even though their posted hours said they would be open. Sign on door indicated that you should stand there and make a same day reservation online or over the phone before entering the park. We waited on hold for 15 minutes before connecting with someone. We drove into the park while on the phone and tried to look at the open spots he suggested. Couldn't quickly find them or they had tree branches in the way. I hung up without a reservation and found our own open spot, then made an online reservation after the fact. What a hassle. Nice park though. We camped at Red River State Recreation Campground in a Motorhome.

Tincup RV Park, Mahomet, Illinois

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We were given one of the pull through sites up by the office. Looks decent like a lot of older permanents and seasonal as in the back part of the park. Very tight lot spacing in the pull thru area we stayed in which made for tricky arrival and departure as we didn't want to disconnect our tow. Roads and grounds were very muddy and soggy during our stay. Open field for walking your pets. Looked like there was an old driving range on the property. The office and rest rooms are a bit tired looking. Ok for an overnight stop. We camped at Tincup RV Park in a Motorhome.

Texas T Campground, Cornersville, Tennessee

Overall Rating:

Very convenient overnight stop right off the interstate. Nice long wide open sites. Plenty of room to walk your pets along a pretty babbling brook at the rear of the RV Park. Convenient hook ups. We didn't notice much freeway noise. The owners were very nice. Highlight of the evening was when they rang the dinner bell to summon the cats for supper! Low-Key Hideaway Motel and RV Resort (Adults only), Cedar Key, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

They have expanded the number of RV sites to about 9 now, mostly gravel with a bit of scraggly grass(likely to get sand in your rig) Very quaint little place and the small bar is quite an experience! Seats about 20 and it filled up both nights we were there, mostly with locals or some folks from other RV resorts. Heavy rains during our visit and there was quite a bit of water pooling all over the road and grounds. There is a nice dock extending over the water from which you can enjoy the sunset. Also a small deck along the edge of the campsites that is intended for all guests to use. The sidewalk to town begins just beyond the park - you can easily walk or bike to town where there are some quaint shops and dining opportunities. I heard about some fun and unique celebrations that occur at the resort - try to visit during one of them. Very unique place to put on your bucket list! We camped at Low-Key Hideaway Motel and RV Resort (Adults only) in a Motorhome.

Neapolitan Cove RV Resort, Naples, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

Fairly small quiet RV park (80 spaces) appears to cater to their many repeat snowbird guests who were polite but didn't come over to chat. Both pull through and back in sites. Small clubhouse and pool. Typical landscaping of palm trees, some grass and short hedges between the sites. Mulch around the trees but oddly enough, no mulch around the short hedges just dirt/sand that you had to step in to access your bays (and track into your rig). We booked a 2 week stay about 2 months prior to our arrival.

Positives: Everything neat and clean. Great location close to downtown Naples and Marco Island. Plenty of stores and parks nearby accessible by sidewalk for biking or walking. Lots of places to walk your dog.

Negatives: overpriced for what you get. Spaces are a bit tight for this price range. VERY rigid reservation policies. We called prior to our arrival to modify our reservation (wanted to arrive a day later and shorten our stay by a couple of days) but was told that they had a business to run and I was "obligated" to stick with my original 2 weeks. Their online policy states that you can't shorten your stay after you arrive but apparently you can't shorten it prior to arrival either. We would not stay here again due to the cost and service here. We camped at Neapolitan Cove RV Resort in a Motorhome.

GREAT BBQ right next door at I Burnt Mine. Nice walking/biking trail around lake at nearby Sugden Park. Lots of pickleball courts at East Naples Park.

Try Tigertail beach on Marco Island, walk across the lagoon to the outer bank for awesome rolling waves! Try the Dolphin Tiki bar on Marco. The new town of Ave Maria was interesting, beautiful church there.

Boyd's Key West Campground, Key West, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $115.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great location - very close to Key West. You could bike to old town Key West and save yourself the parking hassles. It is about 5 miles from Mallory Square. The sites are very tight and those that are right on the water are awesome. The price reflects the location rather than the park itself although this park is just a bit more expensive than the place we stayed about an hour further up the Keys but is much nicer. It has a fun, laid back vibe. Wish we could have gotten in here for more than just one night. It looks a bit intimidating to navigate the roads into your site but they mapped out a route that avoided the tightest turns and we made it to our site just fine, backed in on the first try (no cars were parked across from our site which helped). We noted that most folks in MHs parked their vehicle sideways in front of their MH which made the road very narrow. Could pose a challenge. Unhook your tow at the gate and drive it in to scope out your spot ahead of time. We could see the water from our dining area windows, very nice! Everyone in our area was super friendly and offered to move vehicles if needed when we left. Nice pool and laundry areas. The one downside is no formal dog walk area and not many grassy areas inside the park. You can walk outside the gate and try to find a place to walk your dog along the street, not the best situation. Overall, we like this place and would try to get in here if we came back to the area. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.

Doable to bike from the resort to old town. Mallory Square area is 5 mi along wide sidewalks. Park your bike and walk around (too many people/cars to ride your bike around old town). Hemingway estate and cemetery were interesting. Cheaper all day parking in the public lot on Greene st 1 blk behind Sloppy Joes -$15 for all day parking. This is a VERY dog friendly town, our pup was welcomed and fawned over in most stores. We found an outdoor patio to dine at where she was welcome as well.

Jolly Roger Travel Park, Marathon, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $95.00
Overall Rating:

The best part of this park is the 10-15' that borders the gulf - nice newer dock, sea wall, landscaping, pavilion with some colorful beach chairs. The spots along the water are by far the best. The pool area looked nice as well. The rest of the place seems more like a lower end campground. Tight and haphazardly spaced camping sites, dead or worn out grass in many sites. We had a large dead palm tree on our lot. The day we arrived, the sewer smell at our site and in several other areas was overwhelming depending on the wind direction and speed. The next several days it was windier and we didn't notice the smell anymore. In my opinion, this campground is way overpriced. We would not stay here again. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Some places still aren't open but we were pleasantly surprised that most places are open for business and anxious for tourists to come back. Have the Lobster Reuben at Key Fisheries, visit Sombrero Beach (bring you lawn chair and sit in the water!) - it appears dogs are allowed there as well as picnicking. There are miles of bike trails in the area.
