Twin Fountains RV Park, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a good park to stop by when going through Oklahoma City. Convenient location, just off the interstate. My wife and I stayed here for just on night, on our way to Texas. For the short evening we had a chance to take showers in their facility. The showers were clean, but in the men's shower, the tiles were coming off the wall and needed repairs. Water was warm for me, but my wife did complain that she did not have hot water in the women's shower. Granted, our night was in the low 40's so our trip to/from the shower house was a quick one. The pads were in three levels per pad, as they were situated on hill sides. Kind of unusual, but we made them work. We pulled a fifth-wheel so had no problem. In 2017, I inquired about pulling in a boat (triple-towing) and they told me I would have to pay for two sites. We did not stay then. I didn't understand why, but now I do as there is no room for other vehicles. Pretty tight. One can get around, but the park is designed with sites in close proximity to each other. Otherwise, this is a very clean and well kept park. Some long term rvers were in the park, but I think they were workers in the area, etc. We would stay here again when passing through. We camped at Twin Fountains RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Buckhorn Lake Resort, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

My wife and I found this "GEM" of an RV resort/park while checking out RV reviews in the fall of 2016. We had been wintering in Fredericksburg, previously. We reserved the month of April in 2017 and enjoyed our stay immensely. Lots to do. Not far into Kerrville or even a short drive to Fredericksburg, if one wishes. Much to do. Dining out, shopping, grocery stores, etc. and just a short drive. You can participate in senior activities as much as you like or just stay to yourselves. All the roads and pads (sites) are paved. Some commented that the nearby highway can be noisy, but we did not notice any noise where we were located. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. WiFi needed work because the reception was somewhat weak and spotty, to say the least. I think they were planning to add more WiFi stations soon after our stay. Hoping this improves as the only WiFi that was acceptable was the club house, laundry, and office. No shade trees to speak of, except our site and I'm not giving that out. Negative about our tree?... Bird poop, but you get that with trees. Always washing our truck. We stayed in our 5th wheel. There is an RV washing service, if needed. RV washers/detailers come into the park and offer their services. (arrangement with management). Somewhat pricey, but they have to make a living and do a 90% job. Have reserved our 2018 stay for March/April. Decided to extend a month over 2017 because this park is just so nice. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Recommend dining at the "Lakehouse" and "Lafour's"... seafood.. Excellent! Check out "Billy Gene's Restaurant", also. Their Ribeye and Chicken Fried Steak is Awesome.
