Needles KOA, Needles, California

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access of I 40 when travelling either east or west; minimal traffic noise from interstate. Park is located on Route 66 and the office store has a many "66" items for sale. Full service pull thru sites are level and separated by shrubs that have been pruned back in the last couple of years. Sites are a little short, however, the access road is very wide so 5th wheel tow vehicle can safely extend into roadway. There is a wi-fi hot spot available in the office area, no cable TV. A night time walk in the campsite to see the lights along the Colorado River is worthwhile. We camped at Needles KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Desert Gold RV Resort, Brenda, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

A clean quiet park for a relaxing two or three day stay when visiting the Quartzsite area. We stayed in a pull thru site that was large enough to easily accommodate our 36' RV. Paved roads help keep dust to a minimum and the park is kept in good condition. WiFi wasn't too reliable and cable TV was adequate. Park residents were friendly; many have ATV's and spend their time exploring adjacent BLM lands. We enjoyed the evening entertainment in the recreation hall. We camped at Desert Gold RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Rincon Country West RV Resort (55+ park), Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Note: rate reflects monthly rate (does not include electricity). Large 55+RV park with many park models and dedicated RV areas. Sites are mostly gravel back in sites with large cement patio. Streets are paved and the park is generally well maintained. Washrooms/showers/laundry facilities are very clean. There are many activities and the park has a welcoming feel. It is located in an area that offers convenient access to Tucson's extensive bicycle trail system. Unfortunately it also appears to be home to an organized "bicycle theft group". Stories circulating in the park are that 50 plus bicycles were stolen during the winter season. Many of the bikes were high end bikes that had cable locks cut by the thieves. Management needs to conduct a thorough review of their security measures. As in many parks the free "Tengo internet" is inadequate.

Security concerns are making us consider not returning to park. We camped at Rincon Country West RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Orange Grove RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed one night on our way to Arizona. Easy access off Hwy 58. Pull thru site was fairly level and long enough to accommodate our 36'fifth wheel to stay hooked up to truck. Unique feature are the orange trees just outside your RV door; we picked a bag of delicious oranges. Interior roads are paved and park is well maintained. Morning coffee and doughnuts are available at the office/store. Cable TV offers many channels and Wi-fi was adequate. There is some train noise and we were parked close to dog walk area and would ask not to be in this area when we return. We camped at Orange Grove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Seven Feathers RV Resort, Canyonville, Oregon

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent RV park to stay at when travelling I-5. It was very busy when we checked in but office staff worked quickly to complete registration. We were escorted to our site; a pull thru that allowed our 36'fifth wheel to remain hitched to our truck. Convenient service hook up location and space between sites. Excellent washroom/shower facilities. The park was very quiet and there was no highway noise. Shuttle service to Casino and a full service travel centre located nearby. Wi-fi was a little slow. We camped at Seven Feathers RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
