Lake Greenwood Motorcoach Resort , Cross Hill, South Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful terraced sites overlooking Lake Greenwood. Sites were relatively large and very well landscaped. Staff was great to work with. Spotty WiFi and no cable service provided. Very quiet and remote area. Not the most dog-friendly Park as it doesn't have much private green space to keep pets away from owned and rented lots. We camped at Lake Greenwood Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

Solitude Pointe, Cleveland, South Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful small camping resort with FHUs and cabins. I would have rated Resort as a 10 if it were just a little more dog friendly (not easy to walk your dog in grassy areas). Very well maintained property with great owners. WiFi relatively strong, no cable, but good OTA options. Not many great dining or grocery options within 30 minutes, so stock up before arriving. We camped at Solitude Pointe in a Motorhome.

Mountain Stream RV Park, Marion, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful small campground best suited for RVs 40ft or less. (There were a few 42-43ft Class A's present, but they may not have been able to park on the better sites). Property very well maintained. Nice dog park and pavilion. Road to campground is very winding, but no issue if you go slowly. The town of Marion is 20-25 minutes away, and as far as I could determine there is no restaurant worth driving to. All the better reason to stay in the CG and enjoy a cookout by the creek. I thought the best sites were 13, 14, 1, 7, 2. Stock up at a grocery store before heading up the mountain. We camped at Mountain Stream RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bull Run Regional Park, Centreville, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $64.00
Overall Rating:

This park underwhelmed me. If I had known the park had an on-site shooting range RIGHT NEXT to the Campground, I never would have considered staying here. I have no problems with firearms, but what an audible nuisance! Site wasn't even close to level, and within 2 hours of arrival the entire power to campground went down, on a nice hot July afternoon. Things happen, but the office must have taken the phone off the hook as I couldn't get an update on power situation, and park staff weren't easy to find. Obviously no WiFi or cable here, but way overpriced for what you get. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Gettysburg Campground, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground IF you get the right spot. (We did. #183 30A FHU backing up to Marsh Creek). I will definitely come back if I can get the right site. The majority of 50A premium sites were not impressive. The vast majority or wooded sites here are 30A W&E. Very well staffed, well maintained facility. Pool, mini golf, large open sports field. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If touring the Battlefield, hire a guide to travel with you in your car. It's more intimate than a bus tour, and actually less expensive.

Casino Queen RV Park, East Saint Louis, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

I didn't expect much in East St Louis, but this place is pretty bad. WAY overpriced for what you get, and you get to park in what is essentially an asphalt parking lot. Utility placements are at rear of sites, so obviously this place was not designed by architects who owned RVs. The sites are also pretty unlevel, which is inexcusable for an asphalt lot. There are no trees and no grass at sites. I would never, ever stay here again, or recommend to others. We camped at Casino Queen RV Park in a Motorhome.

Blackwell Island RV Park, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty average campground in a very good area. I would have rated it higher if the sites were more Big-Rig friendly. Big rigs fit in most sites, but they could be longer for tow vehicle parking. I'm glad I didn't get a river/water front site, as the pull-ins viewed only thick trees, not water. We camped at Blackwell Island RV Park in a Motorhome.

Indian Creek Campground, Deer Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Booked site for 2 nights Sept 2017. Upon arrival they were putting me in an overflow lot on gravel curve of big Rig section. Wife asked for an alternate location, which was given, but woman in office was extremely rude. Quite a few seasonal RVs in here. They also try to charge $2 daily fee for Cable use even when you plan on using satellite. Their free WiFi was horrible. No picnic table. We camped at Indian Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Ponderosa Campground, Cody, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

PROS - friendly staff and location CONS - most of the sites are tiny, some even 100% asphalt like a parking lot. Looks nice street side, but nothing special inside. Our site was nicer than most, but the hookups were inconvenient - sewer at center rear of coach rather than on drivers side, and shared utility posts with neighbor. We stayed at a nearby State Park. Leaving there for this CG was a mistake. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Motorhome.

Sioux Falls KOA, Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is very convenient to interstate when driving through area. Staff was very friendly and helpful, but I wasn't impressed with sites at all, but my opinion might be slanted due to heavy rains during visit - water pooled about 4" deep on both sides of RV, and trash dumpsters were overflowing. We camped at Sioux Falls KOA in a Motorhome.

Worlds of Fun Village, Kansas City, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very accessible big-rig friendly campground when traveling thru KC area. Sites are large level concrete pads. I was a tad disappointed that my Lot wasn't clean on arrival as grill had recently been pulled out of ground by Resort and they didn't pick up charcoal. We camped at Worlds of Fun Village in a Motorhome.

Big Pine Campground, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this CG for a 3 day stay. Travelled with another couple and both sites (26 & 27) offered level and extremely spacious sites. Sites were in heavy pine area nestled next to National Park land. Owners are wonderful people. You are escorted to sites and assisted with back-in. Large bundles of firewood sold for $4 and that includes delivery! We camped at Big Pine Campground in a Motorhome.

River Plantation RV Park, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very fairly priced campground in proximity of Pigeon Forge. Only true negatives were that the WiFi is pretty useless, the river sites aren't really scenic, and the concrete pads on gravel sites are not very well placed for modern day larger rigs. Big Rig friendly. There are quite a few seasonal sites here, but NOT of the park model / "trailer trash" variety. A ton of golf carts running around. Sites are pretty well maintained and very well spaced. More amenities than you'll ever need, including a Dog Wash booth ($10 fee). We camped at River Plantation RV Park in a Motorhome.
