Justin's Diamond J RV Park, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

I stayed in a premium desert view site in back. Most people there return every winter. and its quiet with trail access to the desert bordering Tucson Mountain Park. Most sites are level with pea stone and larger stone. Unfortunately mine was higher in the back then the front which would have been ok except the hook ups were on the wrong side.

Laundry could have been cleaner.

WiFi is like a lot of parks, hit or miss.

Atmosphere is casual and fun.

Some planned activities. No pool, restrooms or showers.

My rate was monthly at $585 Rate is cheaper for other sites but the ones close to the road are of course more noisy.

Campgrounds in Tucson are pricey so its still a good deal.

I would come back. We camped at Justin's Diamond J RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Rural area so going into Tucson takes longer although there are shopping & grocery with 20 minutes.

Many good hiking opportunities in the area and surrounding areas. Tucson Mountain Park, Saguaro National Park, Rincon Mtns, Catalina Mtns. Drive to Mt Lemmon in the Catalinas is not to be missed. Santa Rita Mtns in Green Valley. etc. Tucson has restaurants, shopping and cultural experiences too. The desert in bloom is gorgeous!

Zane Grey RV Park (55+ park), Camp Verde, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is a review is for DOG OWNERS. I wanted to stay here but after calling I realized this is not a dog friendly park and my dog is my best buddy. Dog parents will understand. I want to give my fellow dog parent RVers a heads up to avoid problems or having to move to another campground under undesirable circumstances.

When I called to make a reservation I was told there was grass but a dog was not allowed on it.

Additionally, you could NOT have your dog tied outside your rig unless your were physically outside. In other words, if your dog was tied up at your site and you were sitting in your rig with the door open, you would be breaking the rules.

Otherwise the majority of users give this park good reviews, and I am sure it's very nice it just not a dog person's park. We camped at Zane Grey RV Park (55+ park) in a Travel Trailer.
