Chris' Camp, Spearfish, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Check in very efficient. Escort to site is a nice service. Laundry clean. Didn't use pool but looked nice. Park is more conducive to small fifth wheels and campers. Very, very tight getting into and out of site with motor home. Parked cars all over the place. Picnic tables old and with so little space they are just in the way. A real obstacle course driving in and out of park. So close to neighbor that we could not use slides on one side and still be able to walk between to get to car in back. Barely enough room to park tow vehicle without being in the road. The park was very full, probably nice place if not so crowded. Nowhere level to hook tow vehicle when leaving. Would not stay here again. We camped at Chris' Camp in a Motorhome.

Loop through Spearfish Canyon, through Lead and into Deadwood is a nice drive.

Barton Springs Campground-Normandy Reservoir, Normandy, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are semi-circle pull-throughs. A little hard to level since all sites drain towards lake. Sites nearest to lake will flood with heavy rains. Do not follow GPS, call for directions but be sure you talk to the right person. We called for directions but we're told the wrong exit. Called again when couldn't find it and the person we spoke with said she wasn't from the area and no one was there to help. Gave us phone number for another campground in the area who had someone who could give us directions. We had to turn around in a church parking lot with a 40 ft motorhome. Drove around for almost an hour but finally found it. If given right directions it is very easy to find. All other personnel very, very friendly and helpful. Beautiful scenery. Nicely treed but can still get satellite reception. Bathrooms dated. We camped at Barton Springs Campground-Normandy Reservoir in a Motorhome.

Emporia RV Park, Emporia, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access from highway with Flying J .2 mile away. Wide streets making it easy for larger rigs. If full, sites are very close. Pull-through sites alternate entry, so you step out on the same side your neighbor does, offering very little privacy if you are both sitting out at the same time. Very, very close to highway, making it very noisy even with all windows closed. Sites were gravel at one time but mostly dirt now, and mud if any rain. Grass hasn't been cut for awhile and trash laying around. Office only opened 3 hours a day in the evening, although they do leave a map and site assignment taped to the door if they know you are coming. No cable and Wi-Fi very, very weak...pretty much non-existent. Didn't use laundry but dryers look vintage. If in this area again, will research other campgrounds. We camped at Emporia RV Park in a Motorhome.
