Topsail Hill State Preserve, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This park is unusual. It is a state park on one hand, but bills itself as a "resort" .

Judged as a state park it's a solid 10.

Judged as a resort it's a 6 or 7.

The beach is typical of panhandle beaches.

It is beautiful.

If you are a beach person this stop is a near must.

Sites are well maintained. Safe, level. And more than adequate in size.

The price per night is large for a state park is high but worth it if you can afford it.

We were in a 37' fifth wheel and will come again. We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Fifth Wheel.

Saint Andrews State Park, Panama City Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. The Beach is wonderful.

The site themselves could use some attention. Many are rough. Tight, with some obstructions.

Turning radius can be close.

Park was built when big rigs were 24' towed.

If you are in a rig over 34' or so call ahead and be satisfied your site will accommodate your set up.

We are in a 37' fifth wheel and will come again but only on sites we know are adequate. We camped at Saint Andrews State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Shoal Creek Campground COE, Buford, Georgia

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We are in a 37' fifth wheel. The roads are bad. The sites are worse. In some cases dangerous. Sites are on a steep side hill but very narrow. Ours is over 5" out of level across the site. I'm up on two planks and still not level.

Steps on the site to access the picnic table are so rotten that they are clearly a danger.

Because there are so few Rv parks near Atlanta they are able to get away with very little maintenance.

If you are in a tent or a pop up or a 24' travel trailer you may be ok.

But big rigs and 5th wheels should think two or three times before trying this place. We camped at Shoal Creek Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Raleigh Oaks RV Resort, Four Oaks, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is our second time staying here for a month visit. It is very, very nice in all regards. It was totally redone in the last 2 years. If you stopped here when it was a KOA in you are in for a very nice surprise. Two pools, miniature golf, exercise room, free waffles for breakfast, and a very friendly, helpful staff. Whether you stay for a night, ( it is just off exit 90 on I-95), or long term you should be very satisfied. We camped at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
