Buckskin Mountain State Park, Parker, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I was staying at their "sister" park (River Island - also very good) and decided to try Buckskin Mt. because they have great hiking (River Island has a short trail but will eventually hook up with the BM trail). The staff is extremely friendly, gift shop well stocked and with both parks a huge plus is free Wifi. In Buckskin you have to have a site closer to the front to get it in your rig. I wish all state parks would have wifi! I was in Site 11 which was nice but only for smaller rigs. Park not far from supplies and gas. Will definitely stay here again. We camped at Buckskin Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Anza-Borrego Desert State Park - Borrego Palm Canyon Campground, Borrego Springs, California

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

If you like hiking and being fairly close to a small town, this place is great. I chose a no-hookup site toward the back of the park and the particular loop I was in was unfortunately dirt and road pretty narrow. Since my trailer is small I maneuvered it in but next time I may stay in a different area (paved). That said, it's a great desert area and the park is nicely run. We camped at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park - Borrego Palm Canyon Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The little town of Borrego Springs (just 3 miles from the campground) had supplies, a library, bike rentals, grocery store and gas. A fun thing to do is obtain a map of the metal sculptures that are placed at various places around town and drive around to view them.
