Tom Johnson Campground, Marion, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a month and found the staff to be very friendly and the park well maintained, clean, and very quiet. All sites have level cement pads with some young trees within the park and some sites bordering a river. There is daily pickup of garbage at your site. We needed our refrigerator replaced and got excellent service right here at the Camping World service center. While the daily rate is $30, we paid $20/day because we stayed for a month. The clubhouse which contains the bathrooms, restaurant, laundry and service center office is all modern and clean. The laundry is adequate, but could be larger with only 2 washers and dryers. WiFi is spotty. Overall it's a great bargain and we'd come back again. We camped at Tom Johnson Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort, Lajitas, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

While this is an RV park in the desert and pretty stark it is still nicely laid out and maintained so that every site has a good view of the mountains. Each site has a concrete pad and many have picnic tables. Campers are asked to respect "Dark Sky" policy after 9PM at night and turn off outside lights so that everyone can enjoy the spectacular night skies. Big clean bathrooms and showers and a large laundry. The whole Lajitas Resort is pretty impressive. We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Definitely play golf at Black Jack's Crossing just up the street. A spectacular Lanny Watkins designed course. Use this RV park as a base while visiting Big Bend State Park. Spend time in Terlingua. Great Pizza at the Long Draw.

Campfire Lodgings, Asheville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

If this park didn't have such amazing views and friendly, helpful management it might get lower ratings as the road up to the park is narrow and trying to maneuver a large rig within the park could get dicey. Bathrooms and showers are clean, but small. We camped at Campfire Lodgings in a Fifth Wheel.

Cascade Caverns, Boerne, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

The park is off the main highways, but that's the beauty of this place as it's very quiet and well-treed, with mature live oak trees. Just be careful driving in or out of the place early morning or at dusk when the deer are wandering on the access road. The bathhouse and showers are clean, large and fully tiled. The laundry is big and bright with plenty of good machines. We picked our own site, so scout around the park a bit first as some sites are more level than others. We camped at Cascade Caverns in a Fifth Wheel.

Magnolia Farms RV Park 2, Foley, Alabama

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We made a point of coming back to this RV Park on our way home even though it's a little out of the way. The people are super friendly and helpful and the park is clean, quiet, and well run. The bathrooms and showers are probably some of the nicest and largest we've ever encountered. The meeting room and laundry are also clean and well appointed. This is a super bargain! We camped at Magnolia Farms RV Park 2 in a Fifth Wheel.

Great shopping and sightseeing in trendy Daphne and Fairhope, AL within 25 minutes. Coleman Factory Outlet and Camper's World both within reasonable driving distance.

Wendy Oaks RV Park, Florence, Mississippi

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

While this is an older park, it is well maintained. The bathhouse is clean with plenty of hot water for the showers. The park itself is quiet but you do hear road noise from nearby route 49. No WiFi available at the sites. We camped at Wendy Oaks RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Carrabelle Beach RV Resort, Carrabelle, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

You're paying for the view and access to the Gulf. The park itself is new and clean. We stayed one night so therefore didn't use the laundry, so can't comment. However, our main complaint is that there is one bathhouse for the entire park which is situated behind the office and if you're unfortunate enough to get placed in a spot in the newly opened loop, like we were, it's a 300 foot walk to the restrooms. We camped at Carrabelle Beach RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Magnolia Farms RV Park 2, Foley, Alabama

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This small, quiet "gem" of a park has a brand new clubhouse with clean bathrooms and large immaculate shower rooms. The tidy attached laundry facility has brand new machines. The landscaping is lovely and management seems to be constantly working to improve the place. Everyone's very friendly and helpful, yet the park's also very peaceful and secluded. This is a real bargain! We camped at Magnolia Farms RV Park 2 in a Fifth Wheel.
