Sherwood Harbor, Sacramento, California

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We like funky parks, and this one rates high. It's a small park along the river (mosquitoes), and there is a small marina. The lower section which is usually designated for short term-ers, is closed, so we are in the upper section with mostly seasonal trailers. It's very quiet, there's a great viewing deck behind the office to watch the boats on the river. The sites are all in the grass, and are very un-level. But with a few leveling blocks under the rear tires and wood under our leveling jacks, all is wonderful. After reading the reviews we dumped before we arrived, so can't comment on the facilities. There is a $2.00 per day per dog fee. Wish they had pooper bags. We camped at Sherwood Harbor in a Motorhome.

Madera Fairgrounds, Madera, California

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Great place to stop en-route. Some folks were there for a few days. Some FHU sites, easy dump if no one is parking next to it. All sites are in grass, but not too hard to level. Some spots have more shade than others. Definitely call ahead to see if there is space or anything going on at the Fairgrounds. We camped at Madera Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Pretty park with trees, some privacy, fairly level. GPS took us to the soccer field entrance. Keep driving another mile for the correct entrance to the park. We camped at Yucaipa Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Fishermen's State Park and Campground, Narragansett, Rhode Island

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Area 1 is definitely the biggest, most spacious loop with FHU. And along the refuge. Such a good time we're returning in a few weeks. Yes, they require proof of car and RV registration and pet vaccines, so be prepared. We camped at Fishermen's State Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Don Laine Family Campground, Palmerton, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

A gem of a park. Quiet. Clean. Gorgeous views. Many seasonals so there are activities, a mini cafe and store. Sites aren't too level so bring extra levelers - but it's worth it. We camped at Don Laine Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Jackson County Park, Scottsboro, Alabama

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The overnighters are in an open space in a graveled area. We rushed the check-in so we could get to the Unclaimed Baggage Store nearby, so never got the gate code, bathroom code or any info. Fine for an overnighter. We camped at Jackson County Park in a Motorhome.

Dogwood Acres Campground, Newville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great park if you have kids. Be very clear what kind of motorhome you have. We are 32' C and we were put in a spot designed for tents and pop ups. We had to have the owners give us enough wood to level. Yes, they were very helpful, but we should have never been put in that spot. We camped at Dogwood Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Fort Chiswell RV Park, Max Meadows, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Great park. Quiet. Cows and sheep on surrounding properties. So much room to run your dog. Friendly folks. RV parts, and ice cream novelties at the office. Clean laundry. Gravel sites, all pull-throughs, took two tries to find the best level. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.

South Shore Park on Lake Bastrop, Bastrop, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Not to be confused with nearby Bastrop State Park, this park is run by LCRA and the lake is part of the cooling process for a nearby electric plant. Pineywoods, great trails, kayaking and fishing on the lake. And ice cream novelties and Kuerig machine in the office. We camped at South Shore Park on Lake Bastrop in a Motorhome.

Highway 6 RV Resort, Houston, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

One of the less expensive parks on the west side of Houston. Easy access to very busy freeways. Our first ever resort. Clean. Quiet. Lots of rules. Laundry is on a card system. The "lake" is small and man-made, but the city park across the street is lovely. We camped at Highway 6 RV Resort in a Motorhome.
