Liberty Harbor RV Park, Jersey City, New Jersey

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $110.00
Overall Rating:

The very good about this park is location, location, location. Ferries, PATH trains, etc. all close by. Love the restaurant/bar next door (Surf City) good food and great views of NYC. The bad: It is the worst dump of an RV park I have ever stayed in and paid so much for. Sites are jammed together. No sewer and the RV dump is in the corner and you have to back into it. The electricity is unusable a great percentage of the time. Many times the voltage is under 100. Occasionally it gets to 107. If you ask about the electricity shutting off AGAIN, they say the "park is old". Such low voltage could damage your AC, etc. I have been here 3 times over the years and the electricity is the same every time. I do think the "C" row is the worst. All that said, it is the only place to stay if you want to see New York. We camped at Liberty Harbor RV Park in a Motorhome.

Winter Island Park Campground, Salem, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is an unusual campground. Some sites are very good; some not so good. There are some beautiful sites right on the harbor. We really liked our water site. Sites are close together but we were able to put out our awning. There is a nice beach too. All in all, I would definitely stay here again but only if I had a water site. We camped at Winter Island Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Salem is a nice town to visit. A lot of history. We took the high speed catamaran over to Boston for the day. We liked our meals at Joe's at Boston Harbor. So much to see in Boston which we've been to many times. From Salem, take a drive to Rockport--lots of cute shops and restaurants. Also Gloucester is great too. Only negative we felt is that driving around Salem can be tough even in a car. So many narrow and one-way streets. Also it seems to take you at least 20 turns to get anywhere (lol).

Overall Rating:

Overall we liked this campground. Office staff very nice. Our site was a good one--not on the water but nice size and trees. We felt it was kinda expensive but it is Bar Harbor in the summer. We camped at Mt Desert Narrows Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Camping Transit, Levis, Quebec

Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this campground twice when visiting Quebec City. Campsites are generous and the staff is great. This location is perfect for taking the Levis ferry across the St. Lawrence to Quebec City. The view from the ferry especially at night is spectacular. We camped at Camping Transit in a Motorhome.

A restaurant we fell in love with in Quebec City is Q-de-Sac Resto-Pub. We liked the outdoor patio and the food is soooo good. We had the linguini and the ribs, both delish! Nice selection of beers too.

Campers Corner RV Campground (formerly London / 401 KOA), London, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed overnight at this campground. We felt $43.00 high for electric (30 amp) only (extremely old worn out receptacles). Office staff not friendly at all. Wifi did not work. Roads were narrow. Would not stay again. We camped at Campers Corner RV Campground (formerly London / 401 KOA) in a Motorhome.

Indiana Dunes State Park, Chesterton, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great state park. We have stayed here many times. Only thing you need to be aware of on Saturdays and Sundays in the summer, a very long line forms into the park with beachgoers. It can take an hour and half to get back to the campground if you go out. We camped at Indiana Dunes State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The South Shore railroad line runs to downtown Chicago if you want to go to the city. Be sure to take one of the architectural boat tours on the Chicago River especially the last one of the day where you get all the lights of the city.

Pontchartrain Landing, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

This is probably the best park to stay in New Orleans. They have generous sites on the water. Their restaurant is great and they have entertainment on the weekends. We did not use their shuttle since the hours didn't work out for us. It's a quick drive into the French Quarter. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.
