Though quite remote, this is a very nice, quiet park that's good for families. The campground is several miles away from the main park facilities (lodge, pool, golf course). There's a small playground, and hiking trails are in the campground area itself. Half the sites have electric (30 amp), and there are three pull-through sites. About half the sites are under trees and half in the open. None of the sites have water or sewer, so be prepared to fill up at the campground entrance before going to your site. There's a small playground, and hiking trails are in the campground area itself. Firewood is available at the small campground office/store. We found the staff to be very courteous and helpful. If you want a peaceful vacation, this is it! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This was a great camp ground. There was a great amount to do with the family. There is a huge swimming pool , a 18 hole golf course, and lots of hiking. There are five play grounds for the kids. The staff was very help full and kept a eye on every thing going on. Half of the camp sites can be reserved. The only down side is that there is no water at the sites. You have to fill up at one of two sites. And you better bring 25' of
water hose. All in all this was a great camp ground. My state of North Carolina has a lot to learn about state parks from West Virgina! We camped here in a camper.
