Great park. Staff keeps it very clean. Near the freeway but very quiet at night. No night time light so able to sleep with windows open. Close to Huntsville and many others things of interest. Will definitely stay there next time we are in the area. Sites were long enough for our 45 Foot motorhome and Jeep. We camped at Northgate RV Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Very basic park but excellent for a night or so, pull though sites are plenty long for our 45 coach and towed, sites on north side of park are the longest. All gravel roads and sites. Slight noise from the nearby interstate but biggest problem we had on our last visit, we have used this park many times, was the farm next door is raising chickens and the roosters, hundreds of them start crowing very loudly at 4 am every morning , annoying to say the least. Hosts have always been very friendly and helpful. We camped at Northgate RV Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Decent park for overnight stop. They only take cash or check. We arrived after the office closed and left money in a box outside the office. No restrooms or bath house. If traveling on I-65 headed south, it is at the end of the exit 354 exit ramp where it turns in to State Rt 31. The campground could be easy to miss because the sign for the park is set back from the road behind a chain link fence. Other than this, it was not difficult to get to our site. They have FHU pull throughs with 50 amp. No shade. There is a farm behind the campground that has roosters that crow, but you cannot hear them while inside the RV. We camped at Northgate RV Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a very basic RV park. Great for an overnight stop. Pull through sites are a bit on the short side, but adequate for my 40' MH and toad. Maneuvering to leave was a bit challenging due to all of the other RV's being so close to the edge of the internal access roads. All internal roads and sites are gravel. Some could use some additional gravel, but most of the sites had sufficient gravel to not be parking in mud or dirt. Owner is very nice. Takes your name if you call ahead and will hold you a site if he has one available. Payment is by cash or check only; no credit cards We camped at Northgate RV Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

A country setting close to the interstate, but very quiet for the most part - loudest sound is generally the roosters crowing. Some road noise and the occasional train horn. Big rigs will need to swing wide before right turn into campground due to rather narrow entrance with fence on both sides followed quickly by another right turn. Narrow interior gravel roads 10'. Gravel sites with good angle from access roads, gravel area barely wide (10') enough to keep both sides of the rig on the gravel so in rainy conditions getting in and out involves walking through wet vegetation. Signs of mud rutting from rigs cutting the turns short. Somewhat narrow site spacing with weeds and grass between sites. Sites unlevel side to side and front to back - multiple rigs with one or more tires at least partially off the ground. No picnic table or fire rings. Power ok, water ok, sewer ok (threaded connection on raised pedestal so some rigs may have issues maintaining a slope down to the sewer). No problems with satellite access. Verizon was 4 bars with 6.7 Mbps; T-Mobile 4 bars with 18.2 Mbps; campground wifi had poor signal with 401 Kbps. No recycle on site, no obvious road bike riding opportunities. Note cash or check only. We might stay here again for an overnite or a short stay. We camped at Northgate RV Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

As many reviews indicate, the best feature of this park is location. I-65 the major north/south route in Alabama. This park is 1 minute off exit 354. Check in was fast and friendly and the hookups were fine. It was quiet enough for a good night's rest before moving on to our next destination. We arrived before office closed, but they do have an after hours honor system. Names and sites are listed on office door and you leave check or cash. We make the trip to Gulf Shores annually, so finding this campground is a big bonus. Will probably stay here again on our return trip. We did not leave the park, so no advice on restaurants or things to do in the area. We camped at Northgate RV Travel Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here New Years Eve on our way back from Florida. Owners were very friendly. Easy access from I-65. Roads and lots were gravel but easy to navigate in our 40ft rv. The next exit south off 65 is about 3 miles and there are some good sit down restaurants there. (Applebees and Logans Steakhouse). Fast food is on the same road as the campground just about a mile south. We will stay here again when need a place to stop for the night. We camped at Northgate RV Travel Park in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our stay. It is easy on/off the highway and convenient to Huntsville. The hosts are friendly and helpful. There are no frills. Grassy pull-through sites with crushed stone landing pads and full hookups. No picnic tables or fire rings and no bathrooms/showers. Crushed stone roads in the park are easy to navigate with a big rig. We would stay here again. We camped at Northgate RV Travel Park in a Motorhome.

We will stay here again as a half way stop from home to the Gulf. Easy to get to. The first turn off the freeway exit ramp is tight but we didn't have much trouble with our 40' Class A pulling a pickup truck. Nothing fancy and its cash or check only. Super nice owners. Sites were level. We didn't unhook or go any where but it seems to be close to Athens. We camped at Northgate RV Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Arrived late due to traffic and they left instructions for us. Sites level with granite gravel. Not much shade . NOTE please be sure you come in from I 65 much easier to find this way. GPS does not take you to the right area otherwise. We camped at Northgate RV Travel Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a no frills park with about 40 sites, all pull-thrus with full hook-ups. It is on Highway 31 and just a short distance from I-65 but it is very quiet with almost no road noise. The road into and the roads in the park are easy to navigate. Check in was fast and friendly, and they offered good storm information seeing we were in tornado season. Sites are gravel with a wide expanse of grass. We were in C-1 which is an end site and private with lots of grass space. There were no issues with the hook-us and we had good water pressure. It was plenty long enough for our 37-foot Class A, tow-dolly and parking the car. There is a nature trail along the farm field that is a great place for dog walking. You are close to shopping/eating and a half hour from Huntsville. We stayed March 19 - 23, 2018 and paid $30.00 a night with no discounts. We camped at Northgate RV Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Convenient. As realtors say, "location, location, location'" At the very bottom of an exit ramp, easy to miss the entrance, and it's tight if you're a big rig with towed vehicle. Go in entrance, turn right, then take left turn IN FRONT OF sign.... do not go to the right side of the sign. Phone response was excellent, friendly, gave excellent directions and instructions. Pretty much an unlit gravel parking space for the night. No discounts, no credit cards, cash only. After hours checkin process smooth and easy. Free wifi is available, but is not secure, FYI.
