No attendant was found. Had to figure it out myself. Restrooms were dirty. Was not satisfied. - elizabeth323
Sep 2014 - $22.00
Excellent location in the woods just off the interstate. Unpaved and ungraded road in. We had a pull-through that was long enough that we didn't have to unhitch the toad. FHU with 30 Amp. Mostly permanent residents in trailers. Free roaming pets, so we had to watch our step any time we left the MH and wipe our shoes often. Each site has a septic vent. Between the droppings and the vents, the pines were not the fragrance we experienced. The exit U-turn among the trees is pretty tight for a full size Class A. I would not have wanted to try it without a spotter. We will not be returning. - LandSchooner
Apr 2010 - $22.00
The campground had what was promised: a level pull-through site, electric, water and sewer. The rest rooms, laundry, and office were in terrible shape. Most campers were permanent residents. The campground was once listed in Woodall's, but no more. Cash or check only. - Illinois_Snowbird

Dangerous dirty place to stay. Manager disappears after dark. Very dark, no security. Bathrooms dirty and dark, no lights. Mold growing, no soap, toilet paper or paper towels, manager very seldom cleans anything. Water stinks, electrical is iffy, and sewer smells all the time. Stayed here to work in area, was big mistake. Took 2 months to get my deposit back. Sites are overgrown and uneven, junk cars parked everywhere. - james654225

We travel in a Class A coach. Me 78; she 75. We only want full hookups and a level site; clear for our Satellite dish. This rv park totally satisfies our needs. Hence our high rating. Only caveat coming from I-65 drive slow and do not turn in until you see their sign. Several other driveways are "out" from their Park. Wait for their sign to turn in.
We are 65 feet long. Site 17 long enough. Easy hookups. Adequate water pressure. The mother and son in the office are gracious and helpful. Glad we found it. Perfect for our needs. - michcamper38
Jun 2016 - $32.00
I can't give an accurate review of all of the facility because we only needed a place to stay overnight. I only used the water and electricity. Despite going to the office 3 times to check in, we never saw the manager so we self registered. The entrance road is lined with older FEMA trailers, some occupied and some not. The site was reasonably level. There were no picnic tables at any of the sites that I could see. We didn't have to unhook the car. There were some low tree limbs on the exit. For our purpose, this site was okay but if your looking for a place to stay for a few days, you may want to go elsewhere. - Scott J

This is a nice well kept park but be prepared to be watched like a hawk. Definitely the worst experience I have had staying at an RV park. The owner seemed nice at first but was very unprofessional a basically a big jerk in the end. It felt like we were staying in some type of prison and we could hardly breathe without getting in trouble. The speed limit in the park is 10 mph but if you go 8 mph you might as well be going 75. The whole experience was a joke and nothing like anywhere else I have stayed. I was so happy to take my business elsewhere after being there for one month. - Kevin Lasson
Jul 2019 - $30.00
This is a very nice park in a country setting, the area is hilly but the sites all appear to be level. The utilities were well located and in good working order. I did not connect to sewer. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and you could tell that they took a lot of pride in their park. The bath was modern and clean as a pin, very nice. It is a ways over a very crooked small lane to get to but I would stay here again. - trav
Sep 2018 - $27.00
Yes indeed a sleepy old campground. We stayed in site 59 and our ground fault monitor kept going off. Not sure if it was ever addressed. The 30 amp plug in is in very poor shape. Stayed here just for rest.
Take the road into camp very slowly. - James Ledbetter

May 2016 - $25.00
We stayed here for four weeks as part of a UMC NOMADS volunteer mission project and would love to stay longer. Last year part of our project included updating the pavilion and bathrooms closest to the RV sites so they are now like new. There are 10 full hookup sites, three of which have 50 amp. All sites are level and the utilities worked well, except on the hottest days when everyone was running air conditioners the voltage on the end sites dropped below 105 volts. Some of the sites are shaded and some are in the sun. The camp has several hiking trails including a paved trail beside the lake that is about a mile long. The camp staff are very friendly and helpful. Be aware that on weekends the pavilion next to the RV sites is rented out for gatherings. On two weekends of our stay there were weddings and on the other weekends there were church picnics. Not a problem for us. This is a beautiful camp in the spring and fall. Winter is usually mild, but summers are hot and buggy. Also, since this is primarily a church camp, during the summer the camp is filled with, well, campers. Also, be aware that cell phone service is very weak here, but the WIFI was great at the sites. The camp has installed a booster for Verizon Wireless at the camp office. We used a cell booster in our rig and it worked well. We will stay here again. - Nomads_2
Jun 2009 - $15.00
In a beautiful valley, owned by the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church. Pros - Quiet. Nice paved and non-paved walking trails. Internet available in registration lobby about 1/4 mile away. Convenient if attending an activity at the camp. Nice playground. Cons - Distant to town, bring supplies. Bathrooms and showers connected with a large picnic pavilion used by summer youth campers, could create conflicts during day. Bathrooms in need of a major modernization effort. Tiny biting insects were very bad during the evening and morning hours. Apparently the entire camp is undergoing major financial strain and is in need of donations (according to website). We would not camp here again in June due to the insect problem, but might return in cooler months. - The Happy Traveler

Arrived after office hours and did not find any site information as promised. There was a gravel area near the office with a few full hook ups. We backed into a site here, hook ups worked well and we had a nice grassy view from our large back window. This is a huge part of over 200 sites. Many sites are close together and on the grass. - sp123
Oct 2018 - $17.00
Super large campground, well maintained. Next to Alabama Public boat launch (free). We stayed for thirty days as reflected in the rate we paid. Can stay for up to six months. Only complaint there are no sites with views of beautiful Smith Lake. Two very nice playgrounds, putt putt, pool, lake, beach. Very laid back. Nice people. - Roadtrip500
Sep 2018 - $23.00
Heartland held an Ala. group meeting here (17 campers) - at a reduced rate. Two months out we signed up to stay a full week ($160 - $170 for the week). Most important to know: no wifi and no Verizon; only two or three weak over the air TV channels. Parking pads required backing in at a 300 degree turn in - which pulled my safety brake cord out. The 50A service, water and sewer were fine. My assigned spot (M22) was foul with cigarette butts. - FoxH

Originally gave us site #4, too small, too short and would have been a nightmare to get 30' TT into. Camper on #6 was leaving and we called to get that spot. Used 20 blocks to get level. Very small older park that has nearly gone under. I would be hesitant to stay there w/o making sure they understand the size of your rig. Not site #4 or #5 unless smaller than 21'. We had family about 10 miles away and this was one of few choices in area. Pool is nice and spring feed, $5 per adult, good size. Keeps park open. Did not do the cave, discount if staying there $15 a person seemed too much. Stayed 2 days. Pool nice and cool. Ask for site #6 if available. All sites are downhill off narrow road w/ high ground above road and tight spaces. Some sites have large stumps in between sites (4&5). About 5 mi. off the highway. - Kayak54
Jul 2017 - $27.00
We overnighted here in July. It was not too far from interstate, but wonderfully quiet. There are only about 10 campsites, and they are layed in in a haphazard fashion, and very tight. We were in Site number three, and I was grateful there was no one in site 2. The surface may have been gravel at some point, but mostly covered in silt, making it sort of muddy. There is a nice pool area, and of course the caverns. Unfortunately we did not have time for the cavern tour. If I go there again, it will be to see the cavern, not for the campsite. The site was quite short, and we had to park our truck crosswise in front of our 30 ft 5th wheel. There are a couple of longer sites for motor homes, but we were not offered those sites. - Doxie Mom
Mar 2017 - $26.00
Small campground with sites that are close together and gently sloped. We stayed for two nights and were practically by ourselves the second night. Lots of trees, and places to stroll. The bathroom facilities are modern and clean. The showers are the family, individual type rooms. The park staff is friendly and professional. The roads from I-65 are somewhat narrow with plenty of curves. The park roads are also narrow. I'd say this is not the place for larger rigs. We have a 27' TT and it was difficult to get it parked in the site. - Lance 47

Apr 2019 - $30.00
Very nicely manicured park that has lots of long-term residents. For our 3 night stay we were placed in a large, wide open pull-through that was on gravel & was narrow. No table or fire pit. That being said, it was perfect for our needs (chores/errands/down time). Staff was friendly and we were completely comfortable here. There's an AT&T tower on site (seriously, surrounded by RVs so strong signal. I believe the Verizon tower was right across the street. Be careful making the left into the park, but we had no issues. - Jeporter99
Aug 2018 - $40.00
This is by far the best RV park we have ever stayed at. The owners live on site and are always in the park working or socializing with guests. The owner is a real workaholic and keeps everything top notch. We stayed a month in 2018 and loved it so much we are returning in September 2019 and again in 2020. Can't say enough good things about this park. - navypoppop
Aug 2018 - $35.00
This is by far the best rv park we have stayed in since going full time. The grounds are immaculate and well manicured. The owners and staff here never stop working or offering assistance for what your needs might be. The pool is salt water and crystal clear, cable tv is very good as is WIFI. The game room offers a pool table, pinball machine and crafts. The pull through lots are very wide and level. There are a lot of permanent rv's here on concrete slabs and are very well maintained and everyone here is very friendly. We will definitely return here when in the area. - navypoppop

Sep 2005 - $20.00
Very nice location, a bit out of the way and hard to find. The campground is a Christian retreat, with campsites and dorms, although we did not see any of those visitors. The host was very friendly and helpful. Level, gravel sites with some trees. We used the bath house for showers but it was in disrepair, with spiders and bugs in residence. The larger swimming pool was open, but the smaller one seemed to be closed for quite awhile, full of trash. We stayed at the Coast to Coast rate, so at that price, we would stay again. - Makanamommy
