This park appears to be going through some change. The sign at the entrance says Bay Park RV Park. All the literature and the web site says Alabama Port RV Park. Office is an Anchor Realty office. They have approximately 10 new concrete sites that they are listing as RV sites for sale. All of the others are either back in or pull through gravel lots. The lots are level and easy to get into. The bath house is a mess. On the men's side, the toilets are not clean and several do not appear to work. There is one shower that has a curtain and appears to be used somewhat regularly as there are personal bath items left in there permanently. The building appears to be of fairly recent construction and it looks like they just did not finish it nor maintain it. The woman's side is of a similar condition according to my wife. There is an abundance of garbage around the perimeter of the park and the dumpster is overflowing. Park personnel are aware of it as they were mowing the grass close to it today. The park does have potential to be a nice place, but I cannot recommend it in it's current condition. - mwallace61

This was not an RV resort, it is a trailer park because of all of the permanent residents. We stayed for a week. We were promised a pull through. When we arrived, we were assigned to a back in. That was resolved. Our site was between two guys who were repairing their motorcycles and guys on the other side working on a boat. We spent zero time outside because there was no picnic table and the views on either side were boat or cycle repair, with greasy rugs on the ground. The power, water, cable and wifi did work. The wifi was probably better than most sites. We carry our own wifi because of that, but used the park's wifi some in this instance. - Happy Harley
Aug 2016 - $15.00
Terrible place to stay! Owner is arrogant and rude! He made us feel like we were bothering him when we checked in and again when we needed our propane tank filled. Park is very noisy at night with a lot of loud partying going on. Sites are very close and you can hear door slam every time your neighbor comes & goes. Smell of sewage was horrible too. - sweetp
Jan 2016 - $15.00
Very convenient park located about 20 miles south of Mobile and 15 miles from Dauphin Island. It's gated with concrete drives and many concrete pads for back-in and pull-through. We've spent 3 winters at the facility and plan to return next year. Owner will go the extra mile to ensure your satisfaction. Highly recommend the park.
Sites are near to one another but sunny and open with a patio. - gobigred

Cash only! Couldn't change a $20.00 so I went back with the correct change after setting up. Elderly lady didn't remember writing down my passport number so I had to return for my card (again). She then informed me I was a penny short so I gave her another penny. Then she asked for my passport card and I showed her where she wrote it down. Also, Park is full of stickers and dog & duck poop EVERYWHERE. Shade trees shade the roads, not the sites. OK for overnight passport park. - JimChan52
May 2018 - $22.00
A lovely oasis about 5 miles off I-10 near Bellingrath Gardens. No frills, just peace & quiet on a small pond teeming with wildfowl. A perfect stopping place at the end of a long day on the road. The Payne's are welcoming and genuinely happy to have you visit their park. - Dunwoodyradio
Apr 2018 - $22.00
A quiet, basic park with huge pull through sites, lots of trees, open spaces and a nice pond. Sites are mostly grass, decently level and all of the utilities work as expected. You pick your own site upon arrival, which was kind of nice since we were able to face the pond. Lots of water fowl and other birds in the park. A good number of sites were occupied by workers and a few full timers, but only a few trash RVs on the property. The owners are friendly and are on property. This is a basic no frills park which makes the PA rate attractive. - rick r

Nov 2017 - $15.00
Cute little (12-space) RV park across the street from the pier/boardwalk to the beach. Owners are friendly and helpful. The property includes a small pool to relax by, and the upper deck (off the office) with high-top tables for relaxing or socializing. During peak season the office sells hand-dipped ice-cream. There are several places to eat within a mile, as well as Ship & Shore (the main place for groceries or anything else you need). - DoraTheExplorer
Oct 2017 - $27.00
Very small campground (12 sites) directly across street from beach. Full hookups. Great personnel that were very helpful. Here to slow down for a week on a 6 Month journey. Space adequate for our 28 ft Airstream. Others close by. Full sun. - smitty12
Jun 2017 - $47.00
We stayed in camp for 7days. The staff were extremely friendly and most helpful. We enjoyed the feel of a close knit family campground. Good food in the restaurants close by and the food shared by the staff and neighboring campers was delicious. We would definitely recommend Pelican Nest to friends. Didn't need the restrooms since we were equipped in our MH. Thanks for the hospitality. - David n Donna

Feb 2018 - $40.00
We left our Motorhome here when we had to return North for a week. While we did not actually stay in the park, we would have no hesitation about staying in the future. The park is a little rough around the edges and is in the process of renovation. The owner, employees and residents were excellent and went beyond to help us out. - Minniemax
Sep 2017 - $40.00
OK, so we were evacuating due to Hurricane Irma and this was the ONLY place we could find that had a site available. At that point I wasn't picky. However, this place is really run down & trashy looking. Many of the RV's have been there 10 yrs or more and they look it! Really old, dirty, with junk all around them. And at $40.00 per night, it was ridiculous. On the good side, we had full hook-ups, cable worked great with a lot of channels and the staff were nice but they couldn't give me a WiFi password without all my devices' ID addresses for them to put in their computer. Huh? No one else does this so I said forget it. There is a pool, laundry, shower/bathroom at the house structure (where the owners live I presume) that is much nicer than the rest of the park. We stayed only one night because I knew we could get something better for $40/night. Unless you have no other choice, move on. - new FL camper
Mar 2012 - $36.00
Awful place, a feeling of creepy sums it up best. We drove in, met owner, and left. Worst park I ever drove into (and out of). Plenty of other parks down the road if you are going to Bellingrath Gardens. - User2407

Oct 2018 - $17.00
The park has nice wide paved roads easy to back into my site. My site needed some leveling. The utilities were good and convenient to hook up. Wifi is really non existent but my verizon signal was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. The laundry had half of the dryers out of order. Sites had plenty of room for slide outs and awnings. My site was gravel with a concrete patio. - gadawg
Jul 2016 - $15.00
Stayed briefly in July. Lady at front desk was very nice and accommodating. Didn't use restrooms/bathhouse. View of the pond on the premises is very relaxing and peaceful. Also noticed they have cute little cabins for rent. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will go back if in the area again. - sweetp
May 2016 - $18.00
Very nice with paved roads and gravel sites. Long back in and very long concrete pull thru sites. On Hwy 90 and 2 miles off I-10. Many towering trees for almost complete canopy of shade. Only a few sites with satellite signals. Cable tv, antenna TV good, no wi-fi. Good cell signal. Nice pool and large on-site fishing pond with walk path. Good on-site restaurant. OK for big rigs. Mostly seasonal rigs but well maintained. Park clean and staff helpful. Will stay there again. - Pepper Dan

Oct 2018 - $30.00
The main positive about this campground is the location. It can't be beat. It was within easy walking distance of the estuarium, Fort Gaines, the beach, etc. The restroom/shower building is in very good shape and the kids enjoyed the playground. As others have pointed out, the campground is a little cramped, but we had friendly neighbors and I learned a lot watching the procedures other people use when setting up and taking down camp. Food options are limited unless you are willing to drive or cook. We are likely to stay here again in the future, but primarily for the location. - SportDawgs
Apr 2018 - $37.00
New bathrooms and laundry. Very clean. Spring break week very busy but after - empty. (Weather was not good for beach.) Had a great site; roomy with some shade. Some sites are very tight. Had a guy next to us park in our site. (Would have been nice if he had asked.) New playground kept kids busy. Very good place for bird watchers during migration. Ferry and oil rig supply boats dock nearby so you have that noise. - pegdiver

Peaceful, partly shaded, newly built bathhouse that was pristine. Decent WiFi near the pavilion. - B N S

This place was really old. You could tell that upkeep was not a priority. The residents there, were just that, residents. No vacationers other than us, just people that have lived there for a really long time. - refugee

Jun 2018 - $30.00
We called 2 hours ahead to ensure a long enough pull thru site for our rig and tow. When we arrived she assigned us a site that already had a rig in it, then gave us a site in the very back with all of the permanent residents, there are a lot of them. Our neighbors for the evening were cussing and yelling, not a good welcome. The site was grass, fairly level, the wifi only worked in the front sites (which we were promised), ATT good, close to the interstate. The rate quoted indicated a Good Sam discount but she doubled the sales tax so it equaled $30, therefore no discount. We would not stay there again. - Traveler23

Apr 2018 - $30.00
Nice, spacious site. Washrooms were clean and showers had good pressure. Campground was very quiet with nice scenery. Friendly staff. The pool was not open, but we probably would not have used it anyway. Very close to many stores. Good value for the money. - John A Guderian

Jan 2019 - $50.00
A nice gem...welcoming, helpful well equipped, Marco Grad decorated, too! We called upon exiting I-10 as suggested, and were met with escort who helped direct us into our site. It is a small park and sites are deep but tight. Plenty wide for slideouts, etc. Welcome packet included local attractions and a jar of jam. Each site had a board with our names on it. Nice pool and laundry, etc. Would stay here again. - Jitime40
Jan 2019 - $48.00
Agree with all the other reviews as this is a excellent CG, but beware as their pricing supposedly increases based on availability which I never heard of before this. We found this gem in November 0f 2018 and paid $42.00, we return in December and paid $48.00 and returned again on January 17, 2019 and paid $48.00. We called for reservations for the night of January 26, 2019 and were told the rate was $60.00 so we asked why such an increase in only 9 days and we were told they were only 3 sites left so the pricing increased because of the availability so we questioned when this policy went into effect and were told the 1st of the year, so we asked why we were charged only $48.00 a week ago (which was after the 1st of the year and supposedly there was only 1 site left then) and were told by the person that they were new and that's what they were told to do. I don't mind paying a fixed price for a site but when the pricing goes up based on availability I think this is unacceptable and we will check out another CG that has good reviews with a fixed pricing that is also in the area. Also site 12 has a huge oak tree on the driver's side so you can't fully extend your drive's slide if it is the front. Fortunately I was outside when my wife start to extend the slide and I stopped her before the slide hit the tree or we would have has serious damage to the slide. - bigguy24
Jan 2019 - $50.00
Easy to find off I-10 (exit 10). We were met at the gate by staff and escorted directly to our site and assisted in back in and hook up. Office staff was very nice and helpful. All utilities were excellent. The main drive through the park was very attractive with lamp posts. A cute idea was each site had a chalkboard sign with the occupants first names including their pets. Nice touch! Really cute dog wash station -- old cast iron bath tub at an elevated height for easy washing. Wifi was very good.My only preference would be a wider drive in/out for back in sites. But it was adequate. Would stay again if in the area. - Bob & Ann
