This campground was not on any review site. We followed highway signs and found a well laid out park. No attendant, so we drove around to select an RV site with hookups and shade. Permanent mobile homes are on one side and rv sites on the other. Site designation is a bit vague. I called the number on all the signage, and was instructed to fill out the form (no pens) and put cash or check in the secure drop box. Utilities were adequate except cable, but air reception was okay. Nice and clean family style bathrooms. Small pool and clean laundry. This park might have more business in the winter season but looks like it is running on a shoestring. I would stop here again for an overnight. - Yeager

Great small Campground on the lake with most sites having lots of shade. Check-in is at the Main Office (museum) about a mile from the Campground. Some Lake Sites are Buddy Sites but not noted online. Could be awkward because they are close! Super clean bathroom and brand new laundry machines. It seemed like a Ranger drove through every hour and were always polite. Super clean campground. Lots to do here or Venture Out to Blakely. Great little beach, putt putt, trails and a lot of large Pavilions for family reunion, etc. There is a short pass thru the woods to the beach from the Campground. We rented a 4 person paddle boat for $10/hour (4 hours = $25), life vests included. We had Site 14 and it was 70' long! Our back window had a slight view of the lake. We thought being in the "turn" would be bad but it truly wasn't because the Campground is small. Absolutely NO Cell Service (AT&T). We drove to the Check-In to get 4G. - Kitcatsz
Jul 2018 - $24.00
Easy to navigate. Most sites on water or with water view. Great path to beach area. Beach could of been kept cleaner, trash littered along the water and the sand. Great history of park and walkable trails to see the mounds. Museum was a must see, rangers knowledgeable and helpful. No sewer but dump site was extremely easy and convenient. Canoes, Kayaks and paddle boats were available to rent through the visitor center. - trvlgminis
Jun 2018 - $24.00
Beautiful. The sites are on a small lake and as we were leaving there were a group of kids getting ready to canoe at the main road end of campground. Very family oriented in my opinion. If I lived in this area I would be visiting this State Park frequently. The first handicap site was not level so we moved to pull through, we got in late and had our pick. We had no data signal from the two main service providers we use. Very few sites were not shaded so satellite would be an issue. - Jennifer-Alex

There are campsites available if you are going to an event at the Farm Center. The FHU's are a long way from the event center. The W&E sites are a short walk on a fairly level grass area. The water is on one side of the field and the electric is on the opposite side so be sure and bring extra water hose and/or electric cables. Also bring an adaptor for 50 t0 30 amp and another for 30 to 110. Great place to stay for a Farm Center event. - Hey You
May 2014 - $17.00
Nothing fancy here, but a good spot for a quick overnight. All sites are grass and mostly level. There are two areas with hook-ups. Up-top, close to the buildings are 13 pull-through sites with 50/30 amp, water and sewer. Along the fence are another 15 back in sites with full hook-ups as well. Down the dirt road to the lower level is another area with multiple back-in sites, but only some have sewer hook-ups. Pay at the double wide trailer across the parking lot behind the building with arches. The previous review posted office hours are correct. Would stay here again as an en-route stop. - Good Vibes
Jan 2014 - $17.00
This is actually the county fairgrounds. We pulled in just for a quick overnight. Office was closed and we didn't see where to check in, but the gate was open so we just pulled in and found a site (we were the only ones there). We paid in the morning once we found the office, which is actually a double-wide trailer. (Hours 7-12, 1-4). Apparently there is a mailbox next to the fence where you could pay at night. Excellent easy overnight spot. - GO'Neil

The campsites are very large with convenient hookups. The owner and staff were very helpful and friendly. Additional campsites are under construction for future campers. Propane fill-up is available. The camp is in a quiet rural area. The site was unpaved grass but it was reasonably level and we had no problem with soft ground mentioned in other reviews. I gave it a 9 rating as it is great for short term or overnight campers but there are not amenities such as a playground for kids or a pool for summer use. For the price we paid we had no c0mplaints. - Steve77
Sep 2017 - $22.00
As evacuees we were just glad to be safe. Management could not have been more helpful and generous. Pure southern hospitality. They were doing their absolute best to take in all of us they could. No real amenities like pool or sitting/gathering areas but we all made do. God bless them. - awesum21
Sep 2017 - $17.00
We pulled in trying to outrun the hurricane. The owner saw that I was completely exhausted and came out immediately after I paid and guided me into the site. I was fortunate to get the last site and he parked me next to the office. Thank so much for your help. I was at wits end trying to get parked and fighting traffic all the way from Tampa. Management could not have been any nicer. Thanks so much. Overnight stay and lot of permanent residents, but clean and well maintained. - Tampajohn

Park is in a upgrade and looks good. Free Wi-Fi and cable. Close to town. Sights are roomy but not much shade. worth a stay. - geo cong
Sep 2018 - $38.00
We had a long level pull through with plenty of space for the tow. Full hook ups with cable. Cable worked well and WiFi was better than most. Lots of permanent residents but it is an RV and MH park. Well maintained. Looked like the pull through sites up front by the road were for the overnighters. The road noise didn't bother us. We use earplugs at night if it's loud. Plenty of grass for walking the dog. Would would stay again if passing through. - Patricia57
Jul 2018 - $38.00
Nice pull throughs and very accommodating when I asked to arrive a day early. Older park, with mobile homes and RVs mixed, some older, some newer, but park is generally well maintained. Very, very buggy though, made walking the dog difficult. New owners no longer accept Passport America discount card, but do offer discounts for Good Sam and military. The dog park section is no longer dedicated to dog walking and is now home to 10 additional pull through sites. Be careful about which site you accept - one half of the front sites are angled out to the nearby road, facing in the SOUTHbound direction. We had to make a U-turn on a 4-lane highway in order to head north. The sites on the other side of the office allow for a direct shot across the highway instead. - kcdc989

Apr 2018 - $17.00
A nice campground located in the country. They have a small lake that is Emerald in color. The owner was very accommodating and led us to our spot. I appreciated that she moved us to a spot away from an upcoming party that night. She offered suggestions of things we could do in town. - rolling homeless
Jan 2017 - $17.00
Very difficult park to rate. The owners we met were wonderful, and could not have been more helpful or pleasant. The campground was in no way a resort. Out of the way? Absolutely. The sites were not state-park spacious, but big enough for awnings and slides. We came right after major rainfall and went into a second site after the first was too muddy for our 'big foot' to work, even after placing wood beneath the extensions. Why we weren't given the second site in the beginning is still a mystery to me. The place was not crowded. Locals seemed to gather at the park after dark, friends of the owners, and we all shared a large campfire. Enjoyable.
It's a simple place, nothing fancy (the bath house is a travel trailer at the end of the CG) and good for an overnight stop. Very laid back and comfortable because of the people, but should never be confused with a camping resort. Sites were dirt (mud due to rain) with all hook ups reasonably placed. Some sites were more level than others, but none seemed to present a problem. No patios, and our site didn't have a picnic table. We used our satellite TV with no problem. There is a restaurant owned by the CG owners on site, but it wasn't open. If we were hungry, however, he told us he would open it up! This place is, honestly, near very little of interest - Colquitt could be 'toured' in an hour, and that's about it. Would we stay here again? Maybe if we were in the area, but would not go out of our way. Very nice people, but we have been in many CGs with nicer facilities. The Passport America price, however, made it's cost very legit. Not really worth what the normal price would be. Have no idea at all why some of the ratings are so high - unless those posting have had very limited camping experiences at other CGs! Again, cannot say enough about the owners, but that alone does not rate above average for us. - pamhyatt1
Oct 2016 - $30.00
This is a very nice park and we enjoyed our stay while in the area to attend a production of Swamp Gravy at Cotton Hall in Colquitt, GA. The website said Complimentary WiFi of which did not work. That is an amenity that I look for when choosing an RV park. Even without WiFi I would stay at this park again. The owner was very nice and helpful and we were assigned a very nice lot on the lake. - frontrunner

There were four RV's total the night we stayed. The woman that greeted us in the office was very personable, helpful, and gave us a tour of the lodge where we checked in. As noted, your stay is 24 hours from when you check in. Nice now, but may cause issues when they have more business. Sites are relatively level and cement. Sky is open for satellite. My one complaint is the location of connections on the sites. They are located at the very rear. Our 43' motor-home and tow car were within 2-3 feet of filling the entire pad. Had we wanted to connect the sewer it would have required 30 ft of sewer hose. As another review stated, you MUST use a pressure regulator for city water. I checked it before connecting and read 120 lbs. That is the most I have seen in eleven years. - Westside
Oct 2018 - $23.00
We came here in mid September and could not believe what we saw. A completely empty RV Park. All 78 sites were empty. This RV Park is completely open, no shade anywhere. They spent a lot of money building this place and got it all wrong. The big wide slabs have settling problems where the utilities were buried. As a result our left rear tires came off the ground. Not all pads have this problem, but a lot of the sites I could see from our site did. Rows A, C & E all have afternoon sun on the windshield and curb side. Rows B & D have morning sun. Beware the killer water pressure, even with our water partially open, the pressure built up enough to blow open the pressure relief value on our hot water heater. That was a first for us. This kind of water pressure is not acceptable in an RV Park. Reservations work on a 24 hour basis, so if you come in early make sure you leave early. OTA TV was fair. Wi-fi was very good, but there was no one else here. - Bob and Inga
Jul 2018 - $22.00
A beautiful facility attached to a new construction B&B on the site of a former casino, now converted to a bingo hall. The price is fantastic for the amenities provided. A great place to overnight or stay while visiting Dothan. If you need WIFI stay close to the B&B. The signage at the highway entrance is not sufficient, so call ahead. The site was apparently intended to be "Branson" style, but the state shut down the illegal gambling. Reportedly lots of Nashville money invested. Not much else at the site except the bingo hall with "no-pay" slots. Close to Dothan. 24 hour access to the new construction B&B. - tom&kathryn

This is a city park, located just west of town on US27, do not turn on West St, that is the office address, just drive another 1/4 mile and its next to the Subway's. They have 7 full hook up paved sites and 3 pull thoughts at $15 per night and they also have about seven paved boon docking sites at $10 per night. There are no restrooms or showers. Walking or biking distance to the town square and restaurants. We will stay here again when in the area. 6 years of full timing. - wandering palms

Like other reviews said this campground does have lots of ants. Beautiful place though and nice sites. Be careful of space 7 as you back down a slight hill to sight; our tow bar hit and we had to change sites. We changed to space 11 and no issue - very private. - Scooterd16
May 2017 - $14.00
Pros: The setting could not have been more serene at my site, #32. I'll include a photo from my window bed. Since it's COE, it's clean and tidy, with water and electric. The site is flat and level -- perfect. Cons: The ants! They are tiny terrorists. I've never seen anything like it. Also, campsites 30, 32 and 34 are closer than I was comfortable with, so I stayed inside most of the time. I needed to veg. - WendyWendy
Sep 2016 - $24.00
Nice park, great quiet location, friendly staff, horrible ant problem. Leaving In the morning cutting our Labor Day weekend short so we can go home and exterminate our infested trailer. Great park but we won't return. We booked without reading reviews this is the second time bitten. Won't skip the reviews again. I noticed from past reviews this problem has existed since 2012. Beware. - Joe-n-Terri
