This park is nice but still under construction. Our site was tight but accessable. The site needed more stable ground under the motorhome since the jacks sunk about a foot even after using several blocks. The owner we met was very nice and answered all of our questions about the area. The roads are tight for a bigger rig (38 feet and toad) but we managed. This park will be very nice once the construction is complete. We camped at Little River RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tough park for big rigs. This is a self service park, so you find a spot and leave your payment. Even if you have a reservation, it is still first come first serve. For bigger rigs there are limited spots that are either long/wide enough or level enough. Most of the larger/better spots are taken by permanents. Our site had 5" of slide slope. The roads are gravel but right now have a lot of water runoff damage and they are steep. I would not recommend taking a 30k+ pound rig through the park during or directly after rain as the roads are steep and in need of gravel/grading. Nice setting for a park though and utilities worked well. We camped at Little River RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

The nightly rate reflects a month plus electric for 2 weeks. I intended on only staying one week but added another week then decided on the month! Owners were very nice! Park is no frills but clean and friendly. Everything is on the honor system: self check-in, purchasing firewood and ice. Bathhouse was clean with great water pressure and hot water. Some steep roads....larger Class A rigs could have a problem but there are several sites right by the office that would suit them. Lots to do in the area. We camped at Little River RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We selected this park due to the proximity to Little River Canyon. If you are wanting to see the Canyon, this is a great park. There are no family activities, no pool, not much to do but see the Canyon. Park is a little difficult to locate at first. Could use some improved directional signs. The park itself is beautiful and quiet. Our spot was slightly off-level but not bad considering being in the mountains. Bring leveling equipment. I never met the staff, only phone. Used the honor system for check in/out and payment. I like that. I will certainly be back. We camped at Little River RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a new park in the construction phase. It is not a resort but a really nice campground. The roads are a little tight, but doable with our 40' fifth wheel. The sites were level with plenty of space. The wifi would come and go depending on the time of day and number of users. Our particular site had a fuzzy cable connection. The hook ups were centrally located. We will stay again when in the area. We camped at Little River RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for 4 nights and could not have asked for a better place to stay. The sites were some of the most level I have ever encountered. This despite the fact that the campground is built on the side of a hill. I pulled into my site and was level even before extending my jacks. I met the owners while here and could not have asked for a more friendly interaction. They were quick to offer advice on places to eat and things to do while in the area. Great price and great camp sites. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. I noticed that one reviewer mentioned steep grades and tough navigation for big rigs, as well as the possibility of bottoming out. We have a 40' diesel pusher and did not have any issues with that at all. The grades not that steep and very easy to handle. We camped at Little River RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Little River Canyon is just down the road a couple of miles. Fort Payne is the home town of the group, "Alabama". There is a museum as well as a park that pays tribute to them.

Little River RV park is the closest campground to the Little River National Reserve. This park is quite rough around the edges, but may be a work in progress. The roads getting in and out are gravel and have some pretty severe grade breaks in them. Navigating in and out can be challenging for big rigs, and bottoming out is possible. There is a severe drought going on at this time, so all the grass is dead, the fishing pond is drying up, and no fires are allowed. The owner is very nice, but is rarely around, everything is on the honor system, and a self check in kiosk exists. The price is reasonable, but fitting for the condition of the park. We would have been more pleased with this place if it was not so treacherous to get in and out of because of rough steep gravel roads. Very quiet. Has bathrooms with showers and a small play area for children. Full hook ups. We camped at Little River RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There appear to be two sites before you get to the office and self pay kiosk, that would allow larger rigs to avoid entering into the campground proper, which has steep grades, tight turns, and severe grade breaks. Strongly reccomend that larger and more cumbersome rigs stay at those two sites rather than try and maneuver in the campground loop.

The campground is fairly basic, but adequate. The restrooms were small, but well taken care of, even on a busy weekend. Owners are very friendly and helpful. The campsites are nice and mostly level, most offering at least some shade. Very convenient to Little River Canyon. It's about a 10 minute drive into Fort Payne. This campground is just right for the price. We camped at Little River RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Owners are not on site full time but self check-in is easy. You can pick any site you want. Which is great except if you have a big camper and no large site is available. Our 42' fit fine. Road coming in is winding and narrow but doable. We camped at Little River RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Small town with not much going on. Great museum at the railroad. We went to see Little River falls, scenic hwy had beautiful overlooks. Nice swimming hole Martha's falls. Steep and rocky with no rails so must be careful. Drove to DeSoto falls through Mentone. Falls are small in summer. Must be great In the fall.

Agree with other reviews that it is a very nice RV park. Owners are very accommodating. There is cable available, but requires a box which can be provided. We opted not to get the box for an overnite stay. Lovely fishing pond with swings to sit in and relax or fish. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped in a motorhome towing. Verizon phone and hot spot worked great. Good Satellite reception. Nice playground area. We camped at Little River RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This is an RV park, not a resort. It is an excellent park. The sites are wide and graveled. Picnic tables and fire rings are in most spaces. We had a back-in site. When we pulled in to the park, there was plenty of space to unhook the toad. There was also cable available. We had to get a cable box from the owner for access.

There's a pond with ducks. A trail for walking. And you are just up the road from Little River. Lots to do nearby - hiking, swimming, and you're about 5 miles from town.

Owner is working on expanding the park. We're excited to see what he's done when we next visit. We camped at Little River RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Electric 50/30/20 is good. Sewer good and at ground level, Water is ok @ 42psi. Wi-Fi Didn't use it but it is not real strong. AT&T Cell Phone good 3bars. AT&T Air 4G Air Card poor. Verizon 4G LTE Air Card very good. Cable but needs a box for the inside to the TV. Site is dirt with a small amount of shale mixed in. Site Size pretty level, good width and length. You can park both truck and trailer on most sites. Some Sites are close while others have a bit more room. Some grass between sites and some trees. Interior roads are dirt with a little shale mix in. CR261 was a dirt and gravel road but the county has come in and put rock and asphalt down but didn't smooth it out. It is wide enough for one lane but if someone is coming toward you both will have to make room, especially if you're in the RV. Restrooms and showers are nice and they look clean. I did not use them. Laundry looks good. 2 washers & 2 dryers. Cost is $1.50 each. Only a few long term tenants, but sites are well kept. DirecTV Satellite is capable in some spots especially if you have the satellite on a ground tripod. Passport America discounts Largest is a pull through at $27. Owner works during the day so pick up a map and form then you pull in and find a site then go to the sign board and pay in the box on the wall. Owner will likely come by and ask you if you want a cable box. This park has a woodsy atmosphere. Quite at night. it rained hard here and the rain ran off the campground quickly. They have an interesting drainage method. Ditches bordered by stones and vegetation and flowers growing along or over the ditched which lead to pipes underground or other ditches to move the water away. If I were in the area and there was room I would stay here again. We camped at Little River RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is a work in progress. It's only a couple years old, and the owners both work full time while getting the park up to speed. Most of the sites are gravel and stone, although a few are mainly dirt. You may want to check for that if rain is expected. There is only one toilet and two shower stalls per gender, and you may have to wait your turn during busy weekends. They have cable TV, but you need to get a de-scrambler from the owner to get the signal. WiFi is available, and signal strength is dependent upon your location. All in all a nice park that will be even nicer as time goes on. Friendly owners who deserve success in their venture! We will definitely stay here again. Rate is the Passport Rate which I was given even though it was a Saturday and Sunday stay. Mainly self service. Owner was very accommodating. Not a good place for a large rig. The park is very hilly and terraced. I stayed in site #4 which was fairly level and I was able to get a satellite signal with a portable dish. It is about 7 miles off the interstate on a 2 lane road on the top of Lookout Mountain. We camped at Little River RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This park is only 3-4 years old and has recently expanded. Our pull-through site easily accommodated our 40' big rig with towed Jeep, and entrance/exit access was very easy. Exceptionally friendly owners/managers, but they work in town and are only available by cell phone during the day. The only negative was the distance from the freeway (about 7 miles, up a very windy road) although the road was in good condition and accommodated 18-wheelers. Counterbalancing the drive up was the nearby Desoto State Park with gorgeous waterfalls, hiking trails and scenic drive. We would stay here again.
