This is a beautiful and secluded state park with lots of mature trees and a stream that runs behind a number of the sites. The sites were level and gravel, except for a few paved pull-through sites. The pull-through sites have sewer hookups, but the back-in sites did not. We were able to use one of the pull-through sites to dump our tanks. There are many tent sites available in the campground and some additional primitive sites within the park. The bathrooms were clean. There is a small playground and a covered picnic area. There are lots of places to walk with a dog. We were unable to get cell phone reception with AT&T or Verizon, but that was OK because we were there to enjoy the surroundings. The biggest negative was that the trails were overgrown so thickly with poison ivy that we couldn't use them, but there is a dirt road that runs along the stream that made for a great walk. It was very quiet and the sound of the stream was wonderful. - Anne Williams

Great small park. Good hiking trails and friendly and helpful staff. Quiet, dark, secluded. Watch that downhill to the park. Also has a nearby boat launch down at the lake. - Solo Nutiket
Oct 2008 - $15.00
This is a nice park to stay while hiking and enjoying the outdoors. The area is beautiful. It is quite remote so nearby places to buy supplies or to eat out are not available. The road to the park is steep and twisty. Larger rigs could have trouble with the road. - Dennis Bham

Don't let the "Under New Management" concern you, Wills Creek RV Park is a GREAT place to stay. It's so easy to access from I-59 and even easier to get to your spot of choice within the park. The park is very well maintained and can accommodate any size RV/Motorhome. Very "family friendly" with some of the residents calling it home for long stretches at a time. I will tell you, you will not find a more pleasant park to stay at and the price is cheaper than a good meal at one of the local (within 5 minutes) major restaurant chains. So, stop in and say hello to the host and I promise you, as I did, you'll make another friend and he'll make you feel welcome. - TheRetiredBear

Don't trust your GPS on this address. Ours said we were there before we actually got to the RV park. We ended up slamming on the brakes when we finally saw the entrance. The park is across from the airport behind some trees. Once you get back there, it's a nice country setting. Check in was fast, easy and friendly. You pick whichever site you want. The sites and interior roads are gravel, some of it pretty thick. The sites all looked fairly level. They are narrow with trees at most sites at the entrance and exit which makes it challenging when towing. We took a branch right across the front windshield as there was no way to avoid it. Also, our passenger side slide nudged up against another tree. All the branches of the trees were hanging low maybe from rain or else they need a good trimming. We just fit in the site with our 45 foot MH and tow. There was lots of standing water in the roads and sites as it had been raining. The sites are pretty close together with a strip of grass and sometimes a tree or two. Verizon was 4g 3 bars and Directv satellite locked on fine. The WII FI worked good for the most part. There are quite a few long-term renters with some rather interesting vehicles. There are planes, trains and automobiles. Sometimes the trains blew their horns for a very long time. Tractor trailers can be heard either from the I-59 or airport road. Overall, an ok park but noisier than we expected. - Free

Excellent, quiet, clean park. Mostly pull throughs. All full hook up 30/50 amp sewer and water. Free WIFI. Wills Creek runs along the border of the property if you wish to fish. Now under new mgmt and ownership. - LostSoulCa

Park continues to improve since our 1st stay in 2014. An ownership park, slow but steady population growth among full-timers. Beautifully maintained lawns, clean sites, spotless pool, clean clubhouse, new boat ramp and boardwalk along riverfront. Downside: location. Long drive to find Restaurants, grocery, fuel, etc.. It's a smaller, quiet park with friendly staff and residents who "make their own fun". Geared to adults, friendly to boaters, and perhaps best suited to folks who are truly self contained in their RV. No cable tv, didn't try satellite, and OTA was good reception but limited channel selection. WiFi was typical campground spotty. Almost no shade trees beyond riverfront. We have already made reservations to return. - Rick2804
Sep 2017 - $45.00
Wow, what a hidden gem! This place offers level concrete pads, FHU, a boat dock / lake views, community fire pit, nice pool, fabulous clubhouse with exercise room, showers, bathrooms, and full kitchen. The lots are well spaced and the internal roads are paved. It's quiet and peaceful; the folks are friendly. The only negative is the 8 or so miles down a narrow two lane road (paved) to access the park. We will be back, next time to stay a little longer and enjoy the park more. I highly recommend this park, whether for an overnight or a month! - dad2aprincess
Jul 2017 - $45.00
This is an addendum to review given in 2016. I returned this year in July 2017. Still well kept and I stayed in lot 27. Same as last year. Ok, negative to this lot is, last year I notice my satellite had issues getting all transponders. Same this time. Reason is there is a small patch of pine trees right in line of sight for satelite. You get some shade but might be a trade off for lot 27-28 Others lots have zero shade, but great sat. Only caveat or not they seemed to have an unposted water aerobics class around 4:30. So if in pool it might be an inconvenience, but you can participate. That's your decision. However you can stay in the shallow end 3' during it. Still a well kept park. Tad remote very quiet. - srb1534

This is not a campground for "camping" in that sense of the word. It is a parking lot for RVs that has lots of amenities for kids and families. The sites are very crowded and small and there is not adequate room to park a tow vehicle for most campsites, therefore everyone has to park on the overcrowded streets. Many sites are muddy after a rain. No fire rings and no campfires allowed on the ground. I do not recommend this "resort" if you want to enjoy nature and enjoy rustic camping. If, on the other hand, you want lots of things to do for the kids, this may be your place. There are indoor and outdoor swimming pools, basketball courts, carpet golf, game rooms, a spa, exercise room, card room, pavilions and a marina. Kids and golf carts are everywhere. At $32/nite, if that's what you are looking for, it's a fairly good value. The resort has a two week limit on stays, but it appeared some campers have been longer term that that. - Bama Camper
Oct 2016 - $105.00
We stayed in one of the rental houses. The house was nice and clean. The park amenities were good. The indoor heated pool temperature was good. The hot tub was relaxing. Fishing was bad and the shoreline full of milfoil. The park was nice for my little girl but the putt putt was slanted and in need of repair. Hate not having wifi except in the clubhouse and it was still sketchy. But over all we had a good time and park was nice. - Nerveman
Sep 2012 - $32.00
Please don't be deceived by the pictures from the website. This "resort" is much older than it looks and the "amenities" are not as they appear. We arrived on a Tuesday and were greeted by nice employees who checked us in and told us that we could just drive around and find a spot that we liked. As we drove through the park, it became clear that this was a "long term stay" resort that looked a lot like a mobile home park. We finally found a spot and set up. We had been camping for several days before, so my wife wanted to do laundry at their facilities. When she entered the laundry room, she found 4 washers that were all being used by the same person. We tried fishing from the pier, but the hydrilla is so bad in the lake that it makes it almost impossible to fish (this is not a negative towards the resort). We took our children to the game room which ended up as a disaster. They tried 3 different games, each costing .50, and all 3 games took the money without letting them play. We went to the office and the only response we received was "sorry, but we don't give refunds on the game room". By the way, there is no sign in the game room stating this, and the fact that we were with the kids when it happened should have been sufficient for them to refund our $1.50. The "miniature golf" course is a joke. All of the holes are identical and they were covered in leaves. The only amenity that proved to be worth the stay was the indoor pool. However, my wife had to call me to come to the pool due to the fact that some old man was sitting in the jacuzzi staring at my wife and kids. When I arrived, he quickly left. All in all, this resort is not worth the $32/night that they charge, and they definitely need to update their amenities or update the pics on their website. They also need to do a better job of keeping up the place and not letting it look "trashy". The woman who was using all of the washing machines informed my wife that they had to fumigate their RV for fleas due to the fact that the park had become infested. I sprayed/fogged the area around our trailer on a regular basis and we did not have any problems with fleas. We will not be returning to Little Mountain Resort. - bddo

We got reservations to stay here 3 nights and left after 1! This is the worse campground that I have not only seen, but stayed at! Our campsite is on a hill so bad that my motorhome won't get level and to even get close, my back tires are over 12" off the ground!!! We were told all sites are water front, but we are a ways away from the water. We brought dogs and the grass is taller than they are! We are moving 2 hours away to Chattanooga, just to not have to stay here anymore!!! Terrible!!! - 3Peeps4Dogs5thWheel

Definitely follow the driving instructions listed on the website and do not let your GPS bring you to the park. Even so, the park is not exactly convenient to the Interstate; however, it is a better RV park than run-of-the-mill and that should weigh in your decision. As others have commented, full complement of hook-ups, 45 lbs. water pressure at site #52, could not get any Wi-Fi there and despite the asphalt parking pad, my automatic leveler lifted a side wheel slightly off the ground in order to achieve neutrality. Park is gated at night (with entrance key pad), with ample space between camp sites and plenty of trees. Drainage is excellent in the wet winter months. Try to arrive during daylight hours, as this park is in the boonies with narrow roads and no lighting until you actually arrive at the park. Diesel is available only 3 miles down the road. The restaurant has excellent fare, friendly service and reasonable prices. I enjoyed country fried chicken and my wife went for the 12 fried shrimp, all for $38.00. Salad bar was nice and fresh. All-in-all this is a peaceful, quiet and wooded campground with excellent facilities. We stayed one night while on the road to elsewhere. - TMN-15
Nov 2018 - $36.00
Outstanding RV park in a spectacular area. You just can't say enough on how well Alabama manages and develops their state parks. They are a model for the rest of the states. This park is simply great. I only have one gripe that kept us from rating it higher and that has to do with SOME of the site engineering and design. About 1/3 to 1/2 the sites do not have level sites. We were on a site we had thought was level based on web site pics only to find it was severely slopped. Obviously they had to fight topography in the design and development and the problem may not be as bad for trailers as for motor-homes. Trailers can tongue level but with our motorhome jacks we could not level. It was so bad we had to switch sites and we really strained out jack system to the point it would not retract from the boards underneath them. All that said it is a grand place with a wonderful staff and we will return! (just being careful of which site we choose) - americanrascal

Very nice park. We stayed three nights. The campground is well maintained. The wifi was very weak at our campsite. (It is broadcast from the bath houses). We hiked several trails while there and visited the CCC museum. We will be back. - 97wing

This was the second time we stayed at goose pond. The staff is very friendly. The park is beautiful and clean and the bathhouses are wonderful. Beautiful views of the lake from most sites with many on the water.
The only negative about Goose Pond is that they do not take reservations: you have to call the morning of your visit to find out if they have a spot. That is tough for us since it is a 5 hour pull for us. But we will definitely stay here again! - marty_L

We camp here often. Nice lots on the river, boat ramp, docks, playground, weekend activities. Very accomdating staff. Roomy lots. Some long term campers but none in the prime spots. Not all lots have sewer. - Campingjunky

The nightly rate reflects a month plus electric for 2 weeks. I intended on only staying one week but added another week then decided on the month! Owners were very nice! Park is no frills but clean and friendly. Everything is on the honor system: self check-in, purchasing firewood and ice. Bathhouse was clean with great water pressure and hot water. Some steep roads....larger Class A rigs could have a problem but there are several sites right by the office that would suit them. Lots to do in the area. - RVingMe
Jun 2017 - $40.00
We selected this park due to the proximity to Little River Canyon. If you are wanting to see the Canyon, this is a great park. There are no family activities, no pool, not much to do but see the Canyon. Park is a little difficult to locate at first. Could use some improved directional signs. The park itself is beautiful and quiet. Our spot was slightly off-level but not bad considering being in the mountains. Bring leveling equipment. I never met the staff, only phone. Used the honor system for check in/out and payment. I like that. I will certainly be back. - DA TT

This is a new park in the construction phase. It is not a resort but a really nice campground. The roads are a little tight, but doable with our 40' fifth wheel. The sites were level with plenty of space. The wifi would come and go depending on the time of day and number of users. Our particular site had a fuzzy cable connection. The hook ups were centrally located. We will stay again when in the area. - Al and Anne-Marie

Checked in after hours site was easy to find and roads were easy to navigate. We got the last open spot, but don't know how many are ever open, it looked as if almost every spot was long term and people just left their campers there to come and go thought the year. Our spot was right across from the bath house and a very nice rec building with corn hole. Spot was fairly level and had a nice view of the water. We had a great weekend get away there. - Mhallman9903

The overnighters are in an open space in a graveled area. We rushed the check-in so we could get to the Unclaimed Baggage Store nearby, so never got the gate code, bathroom code or any info. Fine for an overnighter. - mac2school

What a beautiful park surrounded by Lake Guntersville. Full hook up, including cable, on clean level sites of very small hard pack gravel on lake front (back in) or lake view (pull thru) sites. There are a lot of monthly but they are maintained and the staff stay on top of any issues. The park is gated so be sure to call ahead for reservations and gate access. - PositiveOutlook

You will be hard pressed to find a place that offers such a warm welcome. The owners welcomed us into their home for a warm welcome. The owner helped us park the camper, got a cable so we could use the tv service, and when he told us we could only pay with check or cash, said that we could pay anytime between check in and our leaving. His exact words were that he does things his way at this campground and that he trusted us to pay. Just such a different approach that what I was used to. He even offered advice on what we could go see and do while in the area. The campground does have a lot of permanent spots so don't be surprised by that. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again if traveling through the area again. - Schultefam

If you are looking for a site in Scottsboro with great wi-fi, cable, full hook-up and good water pressure, this is the place for you. This is not a destination campground, but ok for a day or two. No picnic table or much ambiance. All other reviews are correct, except there are now several trailers that will never move again (one with the slide falling off) and cars moldering into the ground. If these were removed it would improve the view out the window. Be sure to call ahead and try to get one of the pull through sites. - Vernadene
Mar 2017 - $20.00
Rate reflects Passport America. FHU, free WiFi and cable, both of which were very good, but NO park bathrooms or showers!! One reason our rating of park is marginal. You must be fully self contained. The park is on a side hill & spaces are terraced with a few pull thrus on the lower right side. Our site was level with "privacy" trees on each side. Others had a fence between sites. Majority of units are full-timers and some looking like they have been there for some time. Lots of "stuff" around their space. Highly recommend to call to be sure a space is available. It appeared their "transient" sites were extremely limited. It is an ok place for a night or two. - J-SRoadies
