This is an oddly laid out park, probably because it is so hilly. The restrooms and laundry are old and rusty. - mountainfan

We stayed for the first time at Oak Mountain and were not impressed with our site nor the blaring of radios being played outside as we were trying to relax by the campfire. We stayed at site A5 and were on the road. Literally! I would not recommend this site for anyone with small children. This site is listed as a pull through but it is nothing more than a pull over area. We only saw the park ranger once the entire time we were there. We were very disappointed with the entire experience and will not be back.... - Sharrell

My wife had a doctor's appointment at UAB medical center and we stayed here for three days. The site we had was shaded and level with 30 amp service. We enjoyed our stay but were unable to use our satellite due to the trees surrounding our site. - Fordiesel250

What else can I add. This is a parking lot with RV sites. The 40' site length is an issue. We witnessed one camper have to relocate because the adjacent RV parked their toad alongside and blocked the new arrivals site access. Unfortunately, no one was there to move the toad so they were forced to call and arrange another site. We recommend using the online reservation system to locate available sites with no one next to your RV door side if possible. Otherwise, w/e/s pedestal is conveniently placed. Water pressure was good. Electric was stable. WiFi was very good. OTA channel reception was very good with 30+ received. Our AT&T phones and hotspot received a moderately strong signal. The park was clean, safe and very good for an overnight stop. We would come back again. - Born2Roam

Decent campground, all asphalt, all pull throughs, clean and orderly. Not very full when I was there. Good AT&T cell and 3 bars of LTE data. Good Dish satellite and OTA channels. - User1688

On our trip to Gulf Shores and wanting to get through the city of Birmingham before stopping for the night. This RV park was an ideal spot. It's a paved parking lot with RV sites, attached to the city's huge sports complex. There were many activities taking place but by 8pm the noise was gone. Very level sites with full hookups and lighted pedestals. Would recommend registering online because calling has extended hold times. Well lit, free wifi, trash bins throughout, and a small playground for kids. Not a lot of other amenities, but perfect for a one or two night stay if passing through or touring the area. Park was only 20% full on our stay, so we parked our toad on vacant site next to us. When park is at capacity, there are adjacent lots to park cars. You will have to drive a short distance for restaurants, shopping, and a Walmart Supercenter (less than 5 miles). I-65 traffic through Birmingham is always congested, so if headed south, this is a good stop after you get through. Would stay here again. - Movgfwd
