Upon entering this park, you immediately have the sensation of approaching a high end commercial RV Resort. As I entered the office to register I had to confirm this was not a commercial facility. The host who takes immaculate care of the park assured me it is indeed a city park. What a gem! Sites have great hook ups, although the power and water were on the right side of our motorhome which requires getting the hose and power cord under the vehicle which is not a problem. We had site 1 which is a pull through site with more than enough room for our 41 foot MH and towed Cherokee. Nice mowed lawns, lots of space between sites, heavily wooded with many sites having satellite views. Verizon on the low side but manageable. Access roads are paved and in excellent condition as are the site pads. We stayed 3 nights and will make this one of our favorite parks in the entire nation. We camped at Sherling Lake Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

First Impression: Very nice roadside presentation and same for the interior. Well trimmed grass, little, decorative monuments, no underbrush. Safety: no concerns. Access: Exit 130 off I-65, northwest on AL-185 to AL-263. Look for brown signs along road pointing to CG. Municipal road in good condition, good signage, Garmin GPS is accurate. Office: Clamp host is friendly and helpful. Office is for registration only, no store. No credit cards - checks or cash only. Online reservations NOT available. No price discounts. Facilities: No pool, spa, fitness room, rec center, or laundry room. Small restrooms/showers, single person use, clean but aging (score "B"). No propane sales. Big playground on the road behind the CG, headed towards the golf course. No off-leash dog run. Campground: Not in a flood plain. No storm shelter available. Moderately wooded. Interior roads are wide asphalt in good condition with gentle turns and no overhead obstacles. Big rig friendly. Long coaches will not have problems. A few tent sites but no utilities. No yurts or cabins. Sites are all spacious, level, asphalt or concrete, pull-through and back-in, nice landscaping. Pedestals at middle of site with electric 20/30/50; no meters. Adequate water pressure with good taste. Sewer pipe is 4" threaded, about 3-5" above ground level. Some sites have nice, wooden patios but most have no patios. Picnic tables are in community-use shelters. Ground fires not permitted; no fire rings. Marginal satellite views. No cable TV. OTA TV found 8 channels. Free Wi-Fi but with weak coverage and low bandwidth. Verizon phone at 1 bar; 4G at 2 bars. No recycle bins. Noise: No railroad, aircraft, or interstate noise but noticeable traffic noise on AL-263 (tolerable). Bug Report (early April): fire ants, spiders, Carpenter bees, and tree wasps, none of which were a problem. Runners: CG roads very good for running. Yoga: plenty of room for your mat. Conclusion: Score 7-Good. Will return if in the area. We camped at Sherling Lake Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Have stayed here three times a year for overnight stays for the past several years. A very nice city park. Would also be great for extended stay while visiting the area. Close to the interstate and easy to navigate within the park. We camped at Sherling Lake Park in a Motorhome.

Great park. We stayed overnight, and while there took advantage of their walking trail. Next time there, I will for sure bring my fishing rod. Looks like a great fishing lake. Nice level lots. Will definitely be back. By the cash only. Plenty of fuel stations and restaurant's at exit. We camped at Sherling Lake Park in a Fifth Wheel.

What a great find! Used as an overnight stop and was pleasantly surprised. Secluded wooded area. Level pull-thrus with FHU. Staff leads you to site. Section of lake accessible from CG with hiking trails. Picnic tables are arranged under community pavilions, each section has its own pavilion. Easy to find and well marked. A lovely stay! We camped at Sherling Lake Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park a mile or so outside Greenville, AL. Spent 2 nights. Heavy rain the day we arrived made lakes too muddy for fishing. Nice walking trail along lakes. Park seems to have a number of full time residents who leave for work between 5AM and 6AM returning after dark. If you are a golfer, the nearby course appears to be a good one. We camped at Sherling Lake Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Super Foods grocery store next to I-65 adds a 10% "service charge" to the posted prices, e.g. 50 cent bananas become 55 cent bananas at checkout. In many cases, the posted prices are not particularly good.

A true hidden gem. Quiet, level, spacious sites with FHU. Pristine surroundings including the lake where one can fish (no license required). Bobby Trent Jones Trail golf course close by. Friendly staff. Day of reservation was not an issue. A must stop if in the area. Bring a fishing pole and your golf clubs. We camped at Sherling Lake Park in a Motorhome.

This was our first time camping here. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful stay, this is the place. Not much to do except for the walking trail and a golf course near by, but, over all, a wonderful relaxing campground. We would go back. We camped at Sherling Lake Park in a Motorhome.

Great overnight stopover spot for us as we moved from NC toward Louisiana. Quiet, full hookups (although we only used the electricity this time). Park is dropping Good Sam membership - too expensive for a relatively small and economically priced park. We camped at Sherling Lake Park in a Motorhome.

I have stayed at this park many nights heading to Gulf Shores. It's a great stopover and I intend to stay longer sometime to explore around the area. Check in is easy and everyone is friendly. You can have an escort to your site or not. (I don't need one as I have know the park.) You can reserve by site if you call ahead. I have stayed in #41 before and it is a level pull-thru as was #25 which I stayed in this time. Bathhouse is a bit dated but spotless. We camped at Sherling Lake Park in a Motorhome.

My rate is based on a weekly rate. Very nice no-frills park. Staff is friendly; park is very clean. They pick up the trash numerous times during the day. I was escorted to my site and he assisted me in hooking everything up. Site was concrete and level; roads are asphalt; easy to navigate. My site was close to a main road and you could hear the trucks going by during the day. I had zero problems with ants as others have said. We camped at Sherling Lake Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a really really nice City park. It has 41 RV camping sites and several tent sites. All asphalt interior roads and concrete pads to park on. The only reason I gave it a 9, is that we had ants in our RV with in 24 hours of setting up. We bought Raid and sprayed our rubber seals and put ant bait where were saw ant trails around our coach. It was fight, but was manageable. If you don't have pets, the staff will spray your sight, if you ask him to before you come in, or during your stay. That should help. The attendant who was working the time we were there, was really helpful. Not much more to say, except we would come back. We camped at Sherling Lake Park in a Motorhome.
