Overnighted at Quail Creek RV. All utilities worked fine, nice concrete patio and sites were nicely spaced. Small patch of grass by each site, otherwise dusty gravel roads and pads. Off the road about 3-4 miles on narrow, shoulder-less roads with multiple turns. Check-in is past the RV campground to the golf shop. Staff was pleasant and efficient. As an overnight site I would not stay here again as it's to much trouble to access the rv park...prefer easy off, easy on locations. Appears to have majority of sites occupied by permanent residents. We camped at Quail Creek Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

We reserved a site and told the site number six weeks out to assure that we would have a site near our grown kids, who were also staying here. When we arrived, we were told "we don't guarantee sites", so instead they had us park at a "site" that was behind the golf cart maintenance shed and use an Extension Cord!!! to plug in our 50 amp motor home. The best part was driving our 35' Class A down the golf cart path...no, I'm not kidding. Oh and warned to park our Jeep further back so to avoid golf balls. The "site" was uneven and the water pressure bad. The REAL campground is about a half mile away. Even if you get a site there...expect to run your a/c all the time because there's no shade. We camped at Quail Creek Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great campground. It’s nothing fancy, and is basically an open field but it’s clean, and the grounds are clean, well taken care of with great hookups. The sewer hole is down on the ground, so everything flowed the way it should...down, not up like some of the campgrounds we’ve been to.
There’s a golf course in the back where you can hear and see the golfers play.
The bathrooms are private. There’s a trailer on site with 3 private bathrooms and showers...no stalls. You go in, close the door and you have the toilet, sink, shower all right there for you, along with 2 washers and 2 dryers. Loved the private bathrooms. Showers were great with plenty of hot water.
The staff is on site in their own RV, and she frequently drives around checking on things.
Garbage bins are right next to the trailer with the bathrooms. Everything was very convenient. The campground is very secluded, private and quiet. It’s surrounded by hills of trees and woods with cow pastures. Super, super quiet. At night there’s nothing, no noise except for the occasional barking dog in the distance. Bring a flashlight, you’ll need it because it’s country dark out there.
Sites were gravel and quite level. We had no problems leveling out travel trailer.
No cable, but the Internet was the best we’ve ever had anywhere. We steamed with no lag, and had zero problems. There were only about 8 other RV’s there the entire month of our stay. More than enough room for our car, truck and travel trailer.

Just follow the green golf course signs and you’ll get there. It’s clearly marked even though you feel like your in the middle of nowhere with the twisting and turning down the dark country roads. Watch for deer on the way in, they come outta nowhere but you have to drive very slow anyway.
Check in is past the gravel campground to the back just off the golf course. It’s clearly marked where check in is located. We camped at Quail Creek Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Takes about 10 minutes to get into town. Everything is there. Walmart, Kroger, auto stores, banks, food etc. it’s an adorable little town that we fell in love with so much that we bought a house here. We love the town of Hartselle. People here are really wonderful and respectful.

The golf part might be the 'resort' but the RV part wasn't, just an open field. The staff was friendly. You have to drive past the RV area to the very back of the golf facility for check-in at the Pro Shop. The person on the phone explained this but it was still a little confusing. Maybe a little more signage would help. Still, it was more than decent for an overnight stop. Our space was not level from side to side. We camped at Quail Creek Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Nothing to get excited about. Very basic facilities and very few campsites when we were there (maybe 10). No extras to speak of. The office staff appeared very snobbish about who they let stay there. Initially, they didn't want to allow us to stay because our Class-A motorhome wasn't brand new. Only after I pushed the issue and proved that our motorhome was nice enough for them via pictures did they allow reservations. When we arrived, the office was open but empty. Eventually, we found someone who claimed to work there but they obviously didn't know how their reservation system worked. We had an OK stay, but I was glad to get away. The campground is in a very rural area. It's quite a drive to find any decent dining establishments. If you read the campground rules, they don't allow any motorized anything. However, I did see one golf cart putting around. We camped at Quail Creek Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Clean park. Plenty of room for 41 foot 5th wheel. There is a golf course on site with low greens fee. Check-in process is easy, though you do have to pass the RV park area and check in at the golf course office/pro shop. New sites are being added to the original 12 sites. We camped at Quail Creek Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Close to Huntsville - NASA, Downtown Huntsville. Freight House Restaurant in Hartselle is in an old train depot - good food.

Extremely small with only a few sites. They told me that they normally only accept RVs newer than 10 years old. A little full of themselves. Not recommended. We camped at Quail Creek Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you need beer get it way before hand as the two gas stations nearby do not have alcohol. Also, there is a Loves and Marathon gas station at one of the two I-65 exists. The Pilot up the road going north on I-65 in Priceville has RV lanes too.

Overall Rating:

This was a great find for an overnight stop. It was so nice we plan coming back some time for a longer stay. Its very quiet with lots of places to walk with your dogs. There are only 12 pull thrus, but they are long wide sites and the WiFi worked great. The camp host drove me to the pro shop on his golf cart to register and gave me a nice tour and brief history. He said the owner is talking about adding another 12 sites and maybe some spots up on the hill in the woods. We're self contained so I didn't use the restrooms or check out the laundry. This is a real gem in the rough.

If the camp host is not there to drive you to the pro shop to register, drive straight past the camping area, past the motel and golf course to the rear and drive around the cedar tree and park to register. Plenty of room for big rigs towing. We camped at Quail Creek Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Wow, where do I begin, this is such a strange place. It only has about 12 sites and they are basically just in the middle of a field. Its the most ridiculous check in procedure that I have ever encountered. Its co-located with a golf course so you have to drive past the campground and go to the pro shop to check in. There is nowhere to turn around at the pro shop so you have to disconnect your tow vehicle there. After checking in, you are given no materials, just told to go back to the campground area and what your site number is. Luckily, the camp host met us while we were checking in and told us where he was located. The sites are not ideally set up for a motorhome, towing a vehicle. We have a 45 ft mh and the location of the connections (among other things) made it impossible for us to keep our tow vehicle connected. The fuses blew as soon as we got plugged in, but fortunately the camp host was an electrician in a former life and could easily remedy the problem (this park is lucky to have this guy). He said the park owners had plans to expand. Perhaps someday this will be a place that is OK, but right now, its way overpriced for what you get. We camped at Quail Creek Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nice little park which just opened and is part of the Golf Resort. The sites are all red gravel which gets a little muddy when it rains and a little narrow. The site sizes are ok but the graveled area is a little narrow. You park on gravel but step out onto grass or mud. Wi-Fi worked but was very slow. Overall, a nice start to what can become a very nice little park. A little pricy for what you get but OK for a night or two. We camped at Quail Creek Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
