This place is amazing. Very new and absolutely amazing. There is a water park in the resort which is small, but new for a $20 per person fee. They are adding onto it for 2020. Includes put put and zip lining. The resort also has a lake with toys, an onsite beach bar and grill and a golf cart taxi on weekends plus lots of activities. A beautiful resort that reminded me a bit of watercolors down in Destin. Pro tip, bring a golf cart or call ahead to reserve one. Internet/Wifi was free, strong and unlimited. The landscaping at the park was also incredible, leading to some enjoyable walks! The sites are in full sun, so be prepared. We camped at Chesnut Bay Resort Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed two nights in a 40 foot fifth wheel. We would stay again and stay longer. This is a great park in a beautiful location with fantastic staff. I don't give away ratings of 10 and this place deserves that and more. The park includes homes and campsites on a beautiful lake formed by a damn that feeds the Cousa River. There is a beautiful water park, nice places to walk, a beach on the lake, and a water sports rental service for boats etc. They are adding camp sites so check back for other options. I wasn't thrilled with full sun pull-thru but the site was very nice. We like shade. Site 301 would have been even better. It is a bit of a drive to get here and the GPS will take you to resort rather than the campground. The campground sign is a small white sign on the right side of the road before you reach the resort destination. You do NOT want to attempt to enter the resort and it is no fun if you miss the campground entrance. So, call ahead and make sure you look for sign on the right. Roads are good but tight. We camped at Chesnut Bay Resort Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We've stayed at Chestnut Bay 3 times this year, and I'm sure we will be back again next year. This is a true "resort" that is comprised mostly of high end lake front homes. The RV portion of the resort is located up above the houses but still has nice views of the lake. Positives: There are two pools in the resort, and one is especially geared towards kids of all ages and includes a water slide. There is also a Godfather's Pizza attached to the this pool which makes it nice to enjoy lunch and let the kids continue to play. There is a beach section with a 150ft water slide that dumps you out in to the lake which is great for all ages. There are tennis courts, beach volleyball, playground, an outdoor theater that they play a movie at on Saturday evenings, and tons of activities or the kids during the day. My kids really like riding on the golf carts with the summer help! Negatives: For such a nice resort, there are a couple of things that I think they could improve on. One is water pressure. I've never experienced such low water pressure at any other park or resort, and the only thing we have been told by management is that it is dependent on the usage level by the rental homes. The other concern is the cable reception. Every spot we have parked in, and every other camper we have talked to has confirmed that the cable reception is bad at best. We actually do better using our antenna and pulling in local channels. Obviously, these items do not prevent us from coming back, but for $45/night, they could be improved. All in all, it's a great resort for families, and they do a lot to keep the kids entertained. We will certainly continue to be a regular at Chestnut Bay during the "peak" season. Please note that during their "off peak" season, there are no scheduled events (i.e. movie, street party, karaoke, etc..) due to the fact that they do not have their college help available. We camped at Chesnut Bay Resort Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Back at Chesnut Bay for Memorial Day weekend. EXCELLENT..only slight negative is cable is very spotty. We pulled out the sat dish and were fine. Small 20 site park in a multimillion dollar resort. Summer scheduled activities for out 5 year old and nightly activities, karaoke, street party, outdoor PG13 movie and free bingo. This is truly a hidden gem that we will return to over and over. I would say this is a destination RV park rather than an overnight stop. VERY family oriented. We camped at Chesnut Bay Resort Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a fantastic campground. The only reason I don't give it a 10 is because of the sites. The particular site that we had was very difficult to get into due to tight space and backing up a hill to get it in place. Also, this particular site and a few around ours are very narrow so you don't have a lot of room between the campers. However, there are some sites that have plenty of room. As far as amenities (outdoor theater, volleyball, basketball, swimming, canoes, paddle boats, a big waterslide, beach area, activities for the kids, etc.) they are very good and the kids had a blast. We will visit this CG again but will pick a better site. Staff was extremely courteous and golf carts ride around to pick you up. We camped at Chesnut Bay Resort Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed at Park in 40 ft motorhome. A little tight getting into some sights. Sights are plenty wide it is simply the roads and their configuration that make it tight, but once in everything was excellent. Lots of scheduled activities for the kids and the 4th of July Fireworks display the resort put on was EXCELLENT. This is a FAMILY oriented resort and this year they added a God Fathers Pizza restaurant for those times we did not want to cook. Staff EXTREMELY courteous. We camped at Chesnut Bay Resort Campground in a Motorhome.

Absolutely loved this CG!! There is a one time $10 fee for the resort amenities: includes however many people are camping with you. Paddle boats, kayaks, water slide, pools are all included. Has brand new looking tennis court/basketball court, well maintained volleyball area, and an outdoor ampitheater where movies are shown (concessions $). They even sprayed for mosquitos prior to the movie!! But the sites are a thick layer of pea gravel which made our pull through sites hard to level and pull into. There is a steep hill leaving the CG. CG has one way in/out, but you have enough room to back up and turn out. Our power was interrupted twice: but came back on fast. We eventually picked up Wi-Fi. The management team has a good thing going with this resort: but the RV sites need paving or limestone gravel. Will go back, but will pick a better site. No bath house/restrooms, so you have to have on board facilities. We camped at Chesnut Bay Resort Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This was one of the best campgrounds due to the amenities and family atmosphere. This is not a big campground and you must have a bathroom since there are not any bathhouses. The campground was an addition to the resort. The resort is a lake front neighborhood and the campground sits behind the houses on a hill overlooking the lake. The volleyball court, tennis court, workout room, and outdoor movies are all located in the camping area. There are sidewalks leading down to the resort where there are 2 swimming pools and the lake access. They rent boats and Sea- Doos in the resort. They offer canoes and paddle boats for free and a 100 ft slide that shoots you into the lake. They also have a large trampoline in the lake. You have to wear your armband that you receive when you check in to ensure that only guests are in the resort. They monitor the resort routinely and are very helpful.
