Large park well maintained. Easy access, right off Hwy. 231 and easy to navigate to your site as they escort you to your. We had a gravel pull thru site that was level. Great for an over night stay. Good value. - camper914

We stayed here while at a 2 day softball tournament in Troy. I had read the reviews and it sounded like a nice place to stay. This park is very large with 2 different areas and we were escorted to our site by an employee which was good because finding the numbers on each site was very hard. Not well displayed. They put us in the area closest to the road so we had a lot of road noise. Looking around it seems like a large majority of the campers/RV's are long term or permanent. Quite a few being run down. We felt crowded in our site, could not put the awning out and stepped out of our door either into the picnic table or a bush. Bathrooms are nice and clean but they are a long way from one of the camping areas. Staff was friendly and helpful. We spent very little time there so it was an okay place to stay. If we had of gone here to spend any length of time I would have been disappointed with the site we had. Check the sized carefully when making reservations. Try and get a site further back in the park because the ones up front are close to a busy highway and you will have road noise. - VJordan

We were assigned site 51. After my husband hooked up and came in the coach, he got severely shocked when he grabbed the hand rail to come back in. I called the office to let them know there was an electrical problem. I was told by staff person #1 that she had never heard of such a thing and that they would call an electrician. The assistant park manager came right away. He said he would try to get someone to come take a look and they would give us a free night. He had us move to site 56 which was higher and drier. After some time a maintenance man showed up. He did some testing but did not know what the problem was. He said that he is not a certified electrician. He too got seriously shocked while working on the coach. He finally left after my husband paid him and we went to bed. It was 85 degrees inside the coach. A miserable night! I emailed the person linked to their website (staff person #2) and told her the situation and and that since we had prepaid 2 nights, I expected a refund. We did some online research and found a lot of information on reverse polarity and "hot skin". The next morning we got a call from staff person #1 telling us that we had to leave because they were shutting our power off. We stopped in office and did get a refund. My husband told her to google "reverse polarity" and she rudely replied that she did not need to. It is a shame we had such a horrible experience at this pretty park. Overall the campground was clean and spacious. Most of the staff were courteous but the management still refused to address our problem even when their electrician got shocked because of the reverse polarity. We must have stayed at over a dozen campgrounds since and only had this problem at Deer Run Campground. For the safety of my family I would not recommend this campground to anyone. - Terry Stough

Out of the way park. We enjoyed our stay. Wanted to rent a boat but it rained all week. The staff went above and beyond for anything we wanted or needed. Had a band the weekend we were there and that was fun. - Kcdmama

Came to this park as part of the evacuation of Florida for hurricane Irma. Manager, and his staff, could not have been kinder or more generous. The manager was doing everything he could to find a spot for evacuees to get them off the road. I was met by camp workers at 12:30 am (after a 13 hour drive) to get me backed in and settled. Over the weekend, there was free food available for everyone at the unfinished (at that time) pavilion. Roads and sites are gravel and dirt. Water pressure is over 100 lbs, so be sure to use a pressure regulator. Motor gasoline, as well as, non-ethanol gasoline is available for campers and the general public. Main office has a small store with the usual supplies. Verizon voice and data excellent. ATT is non-existent. I am told you can get ATT service at the boat dock. We look forward to returning here for a much more leisurely stay. - moderate camper

We evacuated from Fort Myers, FL from Hurricane Irma. So happy to get a spot in this awesome campground with truly compassionate staff. They even grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, had potato salad, baked beans, desserts for all of their campers, FREE of charge. May God bless everyone of them. We will return in better times to visit such an awesome campground and staff. Thank you many times over. To know you really care and want to help us in this time of need is so overwhelming. - Deb and Greg

An OK park. Sites are very tight. - Bmchck6
Jul 2017 - $17.00
The place is right off 231 south of Troy and makes an OK overnight stop. The sites are pull-in/back-out so we had to disconnect our tow car and then hook it back up after we backed out. We parked in a line of of about 16 to 18 RVs and looking out our window we saw large mobile homes being put in. A previous review stated something about student housing so it looks like they are in the process of converting from an RV park to just student housing. Cost was $17.00 cash not sure if that included tax or not. Didn't pick up any WiFi so doubt if they had it. - tlrpilot
Jun 2017 - $15.00
Level grass sites with good cable. No trees/shade. Mixed use with "new" mobile homes and travel trailers for lease. Well maintained and mowed. Used as a overnight stop and it was perfect for that. Would come back. - The Petersons
Jun 2017 - $25.00
This park is a friendly and safe park. The water activities and fishing was great. The owners were extremely helpful and nice. We look forward to our next camping trip. - Lane S.
May 2017 - $26.00
The park was under construction due due some sort of drainage or sewer problem. There was a dead bird on our site; no biggie, but it looked like it had been there for a good while. The homesteaders don't tie up their dogs, and look pretty comfortable (accumulated stuff) in the park. The lake was nice, as was the country store. The WIFI wouldn't have worked at our site, but we have the Alfa Campro wifi extender, so we were good. - wadebbi

The owners are very busy updating this campground. We stayed in a onsite travel trailer. And will return with our camper next winter. We have been camping for over 50 years and seen everything, this campground has the most helpful, friendly, welcoming owner we have ever seen. Outstanding. - Jackson Dial
