Great little gem... We had a great time here. The park is very nice and clean. It is very close to a lot of places that you may want to visit. Owners are very nice and they worked hard to keep the campground in excellent shape, I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We camped at 1776 RV & Campground (formerly Bairdsnest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very comfortable, quiet and clean park. It is small but we were able to navigate our 31' travel trailer and tow vehicle easily around the park roads. Our site was level and full hookups (E,W,S) well placed. The owners are very friendly and take special care of their guests. The location is close to many recreational activities. The local towns are gems; good food, groceries and shops. The area is beautiful with tree lined country roads. We camped at 1776 RV & Campground (formerly Bairdsnest Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

This CG is not big rig friendly. Most sits are not level and have a steep step off from the gravel surface. Very tight maneuvering MH around the grounds. They claim to have internet but we could not get it. No TV channels and Dish would not work. This CG is more suited for trailers rather than motorhomes. Owners try to help but CG needs work. We camped at 1776 RV & Campground (formerly Bairdsnest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Bairdsnest is a small, tidy park that is off the beaten track. It is by a very busy road that is quite noisy. There are some overhanging branches at the main entrance that you just can't avoid. We cringed going in and coming back out. There is one interior road that is an oval, and the turn at the back is a bit tight. There are sites on the sides and sites in the middle. Most sites have concrete pads. Some are definitely more suitable for larger rigs. There are pull-thru and back-in sites. Our site was a pull-thru but you had to drive through muddy, wet grass to get to the concrete pad. The pad had a steep drop off at the front so we had to back out. There is no direct shade but there are trees around the perimeter. Directv worked fine in our site and probably would in all sites. There is no cell service. We could not get the WII FI to work at our site despite help from the owner. So be prepared to be incommunicado! The owners are nice and are trying to upgrade the park. It is still a work in progress. We camped at 1776 RV & Campground (formerly Bairdsnest Campground) in a Motorhome.

The owners are very hospitable and helpful. They have provided the essential amenities without the frills consistent with a mountain atmosphere. There is an on site general store with camping supplies. We visited several nearby attractions and were well pleased with the park and facilities. We wish them great success as they continue to develop this very nice park. Sites are gravel, level and well kept We would visit again when the leaves are in full autumn color. Owners manage the Campground - they were incredibly attentive and professional. Beautifully manicured and cared for - very diverse with a pond, running creek, trails, pet area. Rained hard while we were there for 3 days but drainage on the grounds was excellent. Great access to highway. Mentone is a hidden gem! Will return! Such a wonderful place to stay. Our hosts could not have been more friendly or helpful. They really made us feel welcome. The park is quiet and extremely well kept. Bath house immaculate. Great area to visit all the attractions. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Loved it! We camped at 1776 RV & Campground (formerly Bairdsnest Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

My wife and I stayed here based on previous reviews. We were not disapointed! It is about 6 miles easy drive from I-59. Easy to enter and plenty of room for big rigs. The sites are grass and level. Our 30 amp service was without issue and 50 amp is available through out the camp. Restrooms are spotless, WiFi good. The owners are very friendly, helpful and led us right to our site. This camp is quiet. Just what we needed after a long day on the road. We visited here in our motor home and will certainly be returning. Food market 4 miles away and the town of Mentone has some great small shops to visit. There is much more to do but we had to continue south.

We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and were very sad when it was time to leave. Campsites are spacious and well groomed. FHU, many shaded sites, NICE bathrooms, owners are on premise and so friendly and caring!!! Easy entry. Front porch on camp store call you to enjoy the rocking chairs. This retired Marine and his wife will make you feel like family! We camped at 1776 RV & Campground (formerly Bairdsnest Campground) in a Travel Trailer.
