We were only here for one night, but it seemed like a nice campground. The staff was very nice, and the store was very well stocked with RV gear (the best I've seen actually). We would stay here again. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Motorhome.

Staff was very friendly. Sites were small and not paved; but fairly level. Lack of directional signage to park. Wide variety of store stock. Lots of trees. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped at this campground while traveling to the panhandle area. Very good campground for overnight stop. Very close to I-65, and easy to find. All pull throughs, clean restrooms, very nice staff. Excellent camp store. Small sites which is typical for overnight travel stop. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped her twice in may 2008. Both times the staff were friendly and helpful. We had to ask directions to several locations. This is apparently an old koa campground, but now independent. The roads were paved, but tight for a big rig. The sites were gravel and could use some work as both times they were unlevel and we had to shim up the wheels, however they were not dirty or muddy. We would stop here again. It was quiet and had easy access to the freeway, but not no road noise. There was a train track but it was far enough away so as not to be a problem. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Sites were fairly level but were very close together. Staff was friendly and helpful. This is a good overnight campground even though we stayed here for 3 nights. If you happen to stay here while it is raining AVOID site #55. This is where we stayed and all the rain that falls on the upper end of the park seems to funnel it's way to the creek via site #55 which remained wet with standing water the entire time we were there. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Some pull throughs are concrete ( and level) others are asphalt and NOT level. Lots of shade trees, paved roads, very pleasent staff. No firepits at sites. Office closes at 6PM so get there early. Would camp here again. Trains run frequently at night and keep their horns blaring quite a while. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Travel Trailer.

A bit above average campground. A little further from Birmingham than I thought advertised. Very nice staff. Probably would look for somewhere else to stay next time. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Motorhome.

We like this campground. Has Cable TV, WIFI, and close to I-65. There are a lot of shade trees and the only reason that I do not give it 10/10 is because our site was not level, but everything else was great. Friendly staff and clean restrooms and showers even though we used our own. We camped here in a truck/camper, and will return when in the area. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Truck Camper.

Nice and clean park for overnight stays. A bit crowded. The WiFi was out the first day and weak on the second. We were here for 3 nights. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This campground offered just about everything we needed for our one-night motorhome stay. Everything functioned properly, staff was cordial, restrooms were extremely clean and the atmosphere was peaceful. Access from the Interstate was convenient. Most impressive: a magnificently appointed store, complete with several less-than-common RV components. WiFi service was excellent. Probably wouldn't want to spend an extended time here, but, for our purposes, it filled the bill well. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Motorhome.

We camp here several times per year. We only live about 30 minutes away and enjoy just getting away. We stay at this campground and still go to work daily. Sites have always been clean and maintained. We normally camp at site #4. It is close to the interstate for those of you that want to find someplace to camp as you are on your way to the beach or just someplace to get away for a while. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This campground is old and appears to have been a KOA. It has a number of long time residents and they have the sites that are along the sides in the trees and shade. All sites are gravel, not level but close enough. Pool is nice, laundry is nice, restrooms are nice. Trash pickup along each site every morning. Employees were nice. We stayed here over the Memorial Day Weekend. The shore power is modified to handle 50 amp units but were configured so I could not use my surge suppressor for the 30 amp connection. Water faucets are close to the ground so I had to rework how I use my regulator and water filter. There are two faucets for each site, never saw another CG that was made this way. Sewer was good, no problems. This is not a pretty campground but is was doable. We looked around at other campgrounds in the area, Hoover Stadium and Oak Mountain SP and were glad we stayed here. Picnic tables were very old and warped. This could be a nice campground if they made a number of minor improvements. Have a nice pavilion by the main office. Kids in the area liked the pool. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
