This park is primarily for permanent residents in mobile homes or rvs. Access to our site was difficult because it slopped off the road and required backing over a drainage trough. The site had a level concrete pad designed to be used as a patio, but we had to use it to park on as the adjacent area for the motorhome was severely rutted gravel. It would have been difficult to impossible to level there. Nonetheless it was a pleasant rural area to be in. Staff is friendly and helpful. No wifi yet through out the park. Owners have purchased the equipment and are waiting for the installers to set it up. An adequate place for a brief stay to visit the historic sights Birmingham has to offer. - Roger H.

Very Nice Staff. We stayed on short notice with our HDT and 45 foot 5th wheel. The staff worked hard to find a place for us. The other reviews are correct that the office / clubhouse is in the convenience store /strip mall and the storm gutters are deep. The campground was a mobile home park and seems to be transitioning into a mixed-use park. The campground roads are two lanes in width and paved, as you'd expect for a mobile home park and there are very few low branches. All the sites we saw are back-in and large. The water pressure, electric, and over the air TV are good; our Verizon internet was fair to poor. Understand that the park has Wifi, pool table and kitchen facilities at the clubhouse, but we did not visit it. There are swings for kids. The site we stayed in was loose gravel and rutted under our weight. However, there is a concrete patio and pavement partially into the site area to park on. The park is about 20 minutes from the downtown medical centers. - Behemoth

Great value. Stayed for 5 days to visit family in Birmingham. Managers were very responsive even though I arrived late. Really good park. - Robby Ray

The most difficult part is getting To the park down small country roads. Once there you'll find a fine little city park with recreation areas, ball fields, creek with fish and a rope swing and enough bike trails to make anyone happy. Camp 'sites' are not really designated but rather areas in the wooded area behind the ball fields to pull into, in what ever manner you wish to reach the hookups and miss the trees. If you call for a 'reservation' you will probably talk to the city mayor - who runs the canoe company at the front of this city park. WiFi was Excellent, I never did find the laundry, there are no 'facilities' (I'd rather use my own bathroom anyway) and grocery and fuel are a 10-15 minute drive to the new Walmart. TV reception was good but I had no t-mobile or AT&T phone service. We stayed more than one night and were able to 'negotiate' a rate of 5/$80. I really liked the park setting of this campground even if getting here was a challenge. Small country roads would Not be feasible for a really big rig, but Most motorhomes and trailers will like it once they get here and be in a good location for visiting the Birmingham area. - SailorGolf

Originally gave us site #4, too small, too short and would have been a nightmare to get 30' TT into. Camper on #6 was leaving and we called to get that spot. Used 20 blocks to get level. Very small older park that has nearly gone under. I would be hesitant to stay there w/o making sure they understand the size of your rig. Not site #4 or #5 unless smaller than 21'. We had family about 10 miles away and this was one of few choices in area. Pool is nice and spring feed, $5 per adult, good size. Keeps park open. Did not do the cave, discount if staying there $15 a person seemed too much. Stayed 2 days. Pool nice and cool. Ask for site #6 if available. All sites are downhill off narrow road w/ high ground above road and tight spaces. Some sites have large stumps in between sites (4&5). About 5 mi. off the highway. - Kayak54
Jul 2017 - $27.00
We overnighted here in July. It was not too far from interstate, but wonderfully quiet. There are only about 10 campsites, and they are layed in in a haphazard fashion, and very tight. We were in Site number three, and I was grateful there was no one in site 2. The surface may have been gravel at some point, but mostly covered in silt, making it sort of muddy. There is a nice pool area, and of course the caverns. Unfortunately we did not have time for the cavern tour. If I go there again, it will be to see the cavern, not for the campsite. The site was quite short, and we had to park our truck crosswise in front of our 30 ft 5th wheel. There are a couple of longer sites for motor homes, but we were not offered those sites. - Doxie Mom
Mar 2017 - $26.00
Small campground with sites that are close together and gently sloped. We stayed for two nights and were practically by ourselves the second night. Lots of trees, and places to stroll. The bathroom facilities are modern and clean. The showers are the family, individual type rooms. The park staff is friendly and professional. The roads from I-65 are somewhat narrow with plenty of curves. The park roads are also narrow. I'd say this is not the place for larger rigs. We have a 27' TT and it was difficult to get it parked in the site. - Lance 47

Dangerous dirty place to stay. Manager disappears after dark. Very dark, no security. Bathrooms dirty and dark, no lights. Mold growing, no soap, toilet paper or paper towels, manager very seldom cleans anything. Water stinks, electrical is iffy, and sewer smells all the time. Stayed here to work in area, was big mistake. Took 2 months to get my deposit back. Sites are overgrown and uneven, junk cars parked everywhere. - james654225
Nov 2016 - $32.00
We travel in a Class A coach. Me 78; she 75. We only want full hookups and a level site; clear for our Satellite dish. This rv park totally satisfies our needs. Hence our high rating. Only caveat coming from I-65 drive slow and do not turn in until you see their sign. Several other driveways are "out" from their Park. Wait for their sign to turn in.
We are 65 feet long. Site 17 long enough. Easy hookups. Adequate water pressure. The mother and son in the office are gracious and helpful. Glad we found it. Perfect for our needs. - michcamper38
Jun 2016 - $32.00
I can't give an accurate review of all of the facility because we only needed a place to stay overnight. I only used the water and electricity. Despite going to the office 3 times to check in, we never saw the manager so we self registered. The entrance road is lined with older FEMA trailers, some occupied and some not. The site was reasonably level. There were no picnic tables at any of the sites that I could see. We didn't have to unhook the car. There were some low tree limbs on the exit. For our purpose, this site was okay but if your looking for a place to stay for a few days, you may want to go elsewhere. - Scott J

This is a huge wide open field of concrete slabs with a half dozen rusting and sagging ancient mobile homes scattered hither and yon. The park is located in a declining area and approached via a short road past a fenced car lot patrolled by two rottweilers. That would be clue number one. We stayed only long enough to identify an alternate RV park, I did not feel safe nor did I feel safe leaving my RV there. - Ric R
Jan 2011 - $20.00
We read the last review and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, this place is more like the March 2009 review. This is more of a full time trailer park than an RV park. It is very close to the road, has no office or facilities and is in a more run down part of town. If you don't want to stay at Wal-Mart and need an overnight stop with water and sewer, then I would cautiously recommend this place. Our water did not work. - Sherylyn
Jan 2011 - $20.00
We were reluctant to try this park because of the previous review. We are glad we came here anyway. Owner is friendly and apparently has been working VERY hard. Looks like all the spaces have new large concrete pads. Electric connections look new. Sites are large and level.Big-rig w/towing access. Plenty of room. Clean w/no garbage and no homeless and no bums. (we have seen parks like that). The $20 rate is full-hookups w/no discount. Looks like owner has worked hard to clean everything up. We would camp here again. Did not see a sign for park on main road so be careful not to miss it. - petersoldan

site #40, pull through. Bathrooms dated. Quiet area, grassy. Campground located 5 miles beyond gate house. Would stay again. Electric was to far from where positioning of rig needed to be, fortunately I had a spare cable. - abqnm
Nov 2018 - $29.00
We have stayed at Oak Mountain twice in the last month and have loved it both times. There is so much to do at the park like riding horses, hiking, fishing, walking trails, riding bikes, visit the farm and more. We stayed in B49 and B60. The photo is of B49.
When booking your reservation read the site description. It is very helpful. B49 said not recommended for slide outs but we have a small camper with one very small slide out so it was perfect for us. If you go after hours there is only one way to go in. It is off exit 240. Call and ask and they will give you directions. The staff was very nice. - Kelli S
Nov 2018 - $29.00
Beautiful park.Rained the two days we were here but we will come back. Some sites are clustered together in odd ways in loop A not allowing for much privacy unless you are with a group. Would avoid them. 11-12-13 are all very close. 12 and 13 were plently large for our 37' 5th wheel but in the future would take spots 24 or 25 if you want full hook ups with more privacy. Loop B is more open with pull throughs but the sites seemed far more crowded. Good Verizon signal here as well. - AdrianaW
