Cute little (12-space) RV park across the street from the pier/boardwalk to the beach. Owners are friendly and helpful. The property includes a small pool to relax by, and the upper deck (off the office) with high-top tables for relaxing or socializing. During peak season the office sells hand-dipped ice-cream. There are several places to eat within a mile, as well as Ship & Shore (the main place for groceries or anything else you need). - DoraTheExplorer
Oct 2017 - $27.00
Very small campground (12 sites) directly across street from beach. Full hookups. Great personnel that were very helpful. Here to slow down for a week on a 6 Month journey. Space adequate for our 28 ft Airstream. Others close by. Full sun. - smitty12
Jun 2017 - $47.00
We stayed in camp for 7days. The staff were extremely friendly and most helpful. We enjoyed the feel of a close knit family campground. Good food in the restaurants close by and the food shared by the staff and neighboring campers was delicious. We would definitely recommend Pelican Nest to friends. Didn't need the restrooms since we were equipped in our MH. Thanks for the hospitality. - David n Donna

We've been going to the Gulf Coast since 1989, but with an RV since 2001 and just last year learned of this place. This is the second time we have stayed here. We were there in 5/06 and then this year. We like it very much. The people are nice and friendly, the area is well landscaped, and kept clean. My only complaint is that their wi-fi service is terrible. I hear they're working to make it better. Currently you can hook up, but then it's such a low signal strength that you can't do anything. Other than that it's s great place. - DKC

This is possibly the nicest park that we've ever stayed in. Level concrete pads. Beautifully maintained grounds. Refreshing pool. Large fire pit fun gathering place with benches surrounding and lots of free wood to burn. Friendly hosts with helpful suggestions. Wolf Bay Lodge is a good place to eat near The Park. Wahlburgers is in The Park. Too many fine seafood restaurants to count. - E&E
Oct 2018 - $60.00
Sugar Sands is a relatively new park (2014) but is immaculately maintained. It utilizes at least 4 camp hosts on site as well as two managers. Everything is spotless. It is just a short ride to the beaches and restaurants in both Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. This will definitely be a place we return. - 17Phaeton
Sep 2018 - $60.00
We stayed here for 3 weeks in June and really like the park. The staff members were very helpful and nice. The bathroom, showers, laundry room, and club house were all very clean. All the of the spots are nice and level and the landscape is extremely nice. The pool is a zero entry and was great for my family. The park is right by the toll bridge and is extremely close to everything. 5-10 from the beaches, 5 minutes from grocery stores, minutes away from shops and restaurants, 10 minutes from OWA park. The campground, in my opinion is an awesome location because it is close to everything, but yet it is down a road that is away from the heavy traffic! The park itself was a lot nicer than any of the parks around. I would recommend anyone stay here. - Gregc2828

May 2018 - $49.00
Crowded, overgrown grass sites. Lots of permanent residents and generally a run-down, shabby place. Overpriced for a basic overnight stop. We paid $49 with no discounts (our Good Sam was expired.) No cable TV... the park literature indicated the local OTR channels. The only plus for this place is the proximity to Interstate 10. This one goes on our "do not return" list. - SarahW
May 2017 - $20.00
Do not stay at this campground in the summer months unless you like camping in a hay field! This is the first campground I have ever stayed at that you mowed your own grass, the grass was kneehigh to get to your vehicle.Management isn't able to keep up with the maintenance of this campground. - disappointedinalabama
Apr 2017 - $35.00
This RV park is OK for a quick stay while traveling on I-10. The site was a pull-through level grass parking. The park was occupied mostly by permanent residents and winter seasonal patrons. The hookups were convenient and well located at our site and the Wi-Fi worked well. In my opinion, this park is average but acceptable. - frontrunner

The name of this park is a joke--there is nothing luxurious or anything resembling a resort about this park. No shade trees, lots of tall weeds (that were eventually mowed down), lots of rules and regulations specifically about picking up after your pets (you have to sign a form). The only things this place has to offer are a decent price and a good location. - Scldg
Apr 2018 - $35.00
Incredibly beautiful, convenient to shops, restaurants, businesses, Gulf of Mexico beaches. This little beauty (88 spaces) is a bounty of WOW! Nicely appointed concrete wide open back-in spaces, all utilities, friendlier than friendly front desk gals will welcome you with warmth & a HUGE smile. Showers & restrooms are pristine!! Large pool, beautiful rec hall with lots of events. I will be returning in Oct for my 3rd winter. There are folks that have been staying at this park in winter for over 2+ decades. Staying at this park the last 2 winters has been the highlight of my travels! - Motherboarder

Jul 2008 - $25.00
Without going into great detail, allow me to merely state that were were treated rudely by the owner/management. The available amenities are in poor repair, the landscaping had been let go badly and the grass was un-mowed. We were infested by sugar ants throughout our stay. This is more of a long-term stay park with lots of mobile homes interspersed among the RVs. The park sites are not level as the park is located on a slope. The office doesn't keep an regular hours. Next time we'd rather drive an extra hour out of our way to avoid this miserable park. Why it is rated by Trailer Life I can't imagine. - oRV
Nov 2007 - $22.00
Although close to Mobile, this is not a campground. It is a full time trailer park with 8 sites for transients. The park is for sale and the owner/manager does not seem interested in renting out overnight spots. In fact, he was downright rude. No restrooms, no facilities and a very narrow road make this a poor choice for an overnight stay in Mobile. We will not return. - lmg

Jan 2019 - $17.00
Large work camp for families and individuals. No grass, lots of trees and if you like sand, here is the place for you. Site wasn't anywhere near level, no cable or over the air TV but I was able to connect to the internet a couple of times. Permanent residence have lots of stuff around their campers many covered with tarps and lots of vehicles which don't fit all the way out of the road. Had some difficulty maneuvering on my way out. I'll find a different camp if I'm in this area again. - JimChan52
Dec 2018 - $1.00
Rated as a Deluxe park by Coast to Coast? Entry and exit roads to park are in bad shape (potholes). Pool, LP gas available. No ice machine onsite. Only allow a 3'x3' mat on the site. Sites are level and spacious for the most part. No problems with the sewer or 30 amp service. WiFi service was good' The owners need to police up the permanent resident sites for all the junk they have around their homes. This could be a very nice park, but lacking in care. I will try to avoid this park in the future. - Eggbeater
Apr 2018 - $10.00
We liked our experience here enough to stay an extra week. It's convenient to visit both Mobile and Pensacola. There were quite a few long-term campers, but they were friendly. And if you need any repairs done to your RV, you should call RV Doctor. They will do a great job at reasonable prices. The only negative are the roads, but they keep the speed down!! This park is, indeed, big rig friendly. - Lke

The staff in the office are very friendly and helpful. The resort is meticulously maintained. Others staying here have been very friendly. Convenient to everything in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. - Randy & Sharon
Oct 2018 - $55.00
Well appointed and Convenient to Everything. The check-in process was efficient and the staff was very friendly. We stayed in a large concrete pull-in site overlooking the water. All connections worked perfectly. The sky WAS open for satellite. They also have cable with a good selection of channels. The laundry room was spotless. There is a nice bike/walking trail that winds through the woods. We will be back. - SillyAnn
Sep 2018 - $55.00
Best place in the area for a fifth wheel. Full hook up pull through. Staff was excellent. Melonie was welcoming and went out of her way to make our stay a good one. Pool, hot tub, community camp fire and bar b question available. Good cable tv and water was soft enough to where we did not have to hook up our water softener. - Safrog

Dec 2018 - $30.00
This is a very nice CG Wide open & good site spacing. Good AT&T Cell & 3 bars of LTE data, Good Dish Sat & 40 OTA channels. Very pleasant staff. My only complaint about parking on grass/sand is the tracking in of dead grass in the morning due to rain & the frost melting. I would have rated the CG higher if I was on gravel, cement or asphalt. - Lugnuts
Jun 2018 - $32.00
Stayed 2 nights in a 43' motorhome to visit the NAS Museum in Pensacola and the Gulf Shores. Smooth check-in, very friendly camp host and easy on-off from I-10 in a quiet location. Very accommodating...called ahead because we were a little early and camp host was waiting for us at entrance. Interior road is hard gravel with easy navigation. Our site was a pull-through full-hookup level concrete site (#11). No cable but many OTA channels. Good spacing between sites. Some sites are grassy and some are concrete where the larger coaches are situated. Sites along perimeter are shaded back-ins. Lots of space to walk your dog. We were there in off season but camp host advises that in season is sold out 1 year in advance. Midway location to Foley, AL and NAS Museum. Lots to do in area and will return to spend more time. - RTM
May 2018 - $33.00
9530. This is an immaculately maintained RV Park. Staff at check in were so friendly and helpful. Interior roads are gravel and big rig access was good. Our pad was a concrete pull through, all sites were very large, ours was 43' x 92' so plenty of space for our towed and a small picnic table. The park is located on 24 lovely acres, beautifully tended and has lots of walking trails to enjoy. It was very quiet both day and night which we really appreciated. The laundry and restrooms were spotless. WiFi was excellent. It's an easy drive to Mobile, Pensacola and the beautiful beaches. We would definitely stay here again. - tobyjug

Jan 2019 - $50.00
A nice gem...welcoming, helpful well equipped, Marco Grad decorated, too! We called upon exiting I-10 as suggested, and were met with escort who helped direct us into our site. It is a small park and sites are deep but tight. Plenty wide for slideouts, etc. Welcome packet included local attractions and a jar of jam. Each site had a board with our names on it. Nice pool and laundry, etc. Would stay here again. - Jitime40
Jan 2019 - $48.00
Agree with all the other reviews as this is a excellent CG, but beware as their pricing supposedly increases based on availability which I never heard of before this. We found this gem in November 0f 2018 and paid $42.00, we return in December and paid $48.00 and returned again on January 17, 2019 and paid $48.00. We called for reservations for the night of January 26, 2019 and were told the rate was $60.00 so we asked why such an increase in only 9 days and we were told they were only 3 sites left so the pricing increased because of the availability so we questioned when this policy went into effect and were told the 1st of the year, so we asked why we were charged only $48.00 a week ago (which was after the 1st of the year and supposedly there was only 1 site left then) and were told by the person that they were new and that's what they were told to do. I don't mind paying a fixed price for a site but when the pricing goes up based on availability I think this is unacceptable and we will check out another CG that has good reviews with a fixed pricing that is also in the area. Also site 12 has a huge oak tree on the driver's side so you can't fully extend your drive's slide if it is the front. Fortunately I was outside when my wife start to extend the slide and I stopped her before the slide hit the tree or we would have has serious damage to the slide. - bigguy24
Jan 2019 - $50.00
Easy to find off I-10 (exit 10). We were met at the gate by staff and escorted directly to our site and assisted in back in and hook up. Office staff was very nice and helpful. All utilities were excellent. The main drive through the park was very attractive with lamp posts. A cute idea was each site had a chalkboard sign with the occupants first names including their pets. Nice touch! Really cute dog wash station -- old cast iron bath tub at an elevated height for easy washing. Wifi was very good.My only preference would be a wider drive in/out for back in sites. But it was adequate. Would stay again if in the area. - Bob & Ann
