This is a very nice CG Wide open & good site spacing. Good AT&T Cell & 3 bars of LTE data, Good Dish Sat & 40 OTA channels. Very pleasant staff. My only complaint about parking on grass/sand is the tracking in of dead grass in the morning due to rain & the frost melting. I would have rated the CG higher if I was on gravel, cement or asphalt. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Listed in Passport America book but not accepting it currently. Very friendly staff, nice large sites. Electric is wired incorrectly--reverse polarity. Nice big level concrete pad to park on but you have to motor over pad to climb on it. They need to build ramp/slope up and down pad. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Very clean & well maintained. All Pull thru sites. Open with no shade. Easy in & out. No picnic table at our site, not that it was a problem, but all others had one. Grass between sites. Appeared like there were some long term units, but all well kept up. Would give a higher rating, but some rules regarding pets were unreasonable... i.e. pets had to be leashed from the vehicle to trailer, even it was a distance of a few feet. Didnt even have time to get a leash on our dog or even kindly told about their rule & felt like we were being the riot act & unwelcome. Barking dog all night in space next to us would seem to be a bigger problem, but was last night there for us so just let it be. Lots of other parks around the area to pick from. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Very clean with HUGE sites. Any size coach can be accommodated. Satellite TV reception good. Didn't use wifi. Quiet & peaceful and the people were very friendly. Garbage pick up at site but we didn't know that so had to go way across the place to the dumpsters. There are some concrete pads but they could use more as the sites are sandy and I would imagine soft when it rains. There were a couple of tricky turns for a large coach, made trickier with a bit of construction, when approaching the location but it was doable. It's a nice place that we wouldn't hesitate to stay at again. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a little pizza place acroos from the park but we didn't use it because it appeared to be closed. I think we could have called and ordered one but we weren't sure. There is some sort of petting zoo across the park for the kiddos.

Overall Rating:

PROS-Picked the park based on others reviews. Nice park out of the way and quiet. Large grass sites, might be muddy if it was wet, some had concrete pads, not ours. Park is clean and they will pick up your propane tank at your site fill it and bring it back. Free Wi-Fi, nice walking trails

CONS-Listed as a Passport America Park, but will not allow discount in the winter months. No cable, but we could get 7 air channels. No shade.

WOULD WE STAY HERE AGAIN? Yes, but not long term, we were here four nights.

We stayed here in a 36 foot fifth wheel. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

The rate is $16 per night at the PA discounted price, but the park is worth all of the $34 per night full price.

We contacted the park on the way down I-10 and made a reservation. They asked us to call once we got off the highway, we did and they met us at the gate with a golf cart and promptly escorted us to our site, we set up and then went to the office to check in. A very nice lady checked us in and they did want to see our PA card. Plenty of space for big rigs and very easy in and out. At least 40' x 100' pull thru sites.

The campground itself is wide open, level grass sites a few with concrete pads, with gravel roads, all lined up I get the sat dish signal so I am happy, the power and services are all very good.

This park is full of snow birds and does not have full timers except for the winter. The sites are spacious. For a lot of folks this is a winter destination, for ourselves it a very good 2 days stop. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

I do not think there is a lot to do in the immediate area. Closest shopping is about 20 miles down I-10 towards Mobile. We golfed but it was a 30 mile trip and did visit the Golf shores another 35 miles. The beach is beautiful white sand; if we were visiting the beach again I would search out a much closer park to stay in.

Overall Rating:

A little off the road, but worth it, very friendly host. The showers were clean and large. There are some concrete sites but ours was grass and fairly level, a lot of pull thru sites. There is no pool or cable but the wifi worked very well. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

At Exit 53, on I-10, you need to stop by the Oasis Travel Center. It has the Derailed Diner which has unique and interesting items for sale and as decorations. Definitely worth it.

Photos almost as per website except less people. Sites are pull-through and very easy to park. Not too close one to the other. Planted trees for future shade. Staff friendly. Laundry very clean and new. We will come back. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Nice overnight stay campground. Interior roads are dirt and there is no pool. About half of the sites were occupied by long term campers but that is not a problem. There about half a dozen sites with large concrete pads (~20X40 foot) for overnight folks that are located close to the office/bath house. Showers are huge and very clean. We would stay here again. Call host once off interstate and someone will meet you at park entrance. Doing so will save riding around park to get to your parking spot. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

PA discount is reflected in rate. Park is in pleasant, safe feeling countryside area. Nice parking lot style park, well maintained, clean, quiet except for distant traffic of I-10. Small trees needing time to grow. Park is surrounded by trees, so the distant viewscape is pleasant. Gravel roads, sand and grass, mostly level sites. Utilities worked well. Internet good (some slow page loads and occasional disconnects) and TV antenna reception very good. Accommodating, friendly staff. Lots of dog walking areas. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Price reflects Passport America rate, cash. Well maintained park and helpful campground staff. Nice large pull-through sites even for the largest rigs with multiple slideouts. We just used this park as an overnight stop while traveling. We didn't bother to hook up water. Good Wi-Fi even though we were far from the office. Good over the air TV reception. One sharp turn getting to the campground, but certainly manageable. We would stay here again. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We were greeted and shown to a site by a very friendly resident of the campground. The office was open 8-5 on the day we were there. Most of the sites with any shade appear to be occupied by long term residents. The park was very clean and neat. Our site had a very nice, level concrete pad for the coach and adjacent patio. The sites are very large. Most sites are grass and it appears that they are adding new concrete parking/patio pads. Hookups were in excellent condition and well placed. Wi-Fi worked well. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Rate reflects PA. Great little campground for overnight or longer. Very easy on and off the interstate. They meet you at the gate and bring you to your site. Sites are fairly level. Roads are gravel and site is grass. Sites are large. Good utilities including excellent Wi-Fi. They are still adding amenities to this park and will be very nice when completed. Personal service by the owners in this park is very refreshing. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

At the time we stayed at the campground, it was primarily filled with a small number of permanent residents and mostly snowbirds. Parking is on a pretty level grass field with full hookups. The sites are quite large with lots of room to pull in and out. Restrooms were very nice. Has a homey feel to the place. Free coffee and a card game in the community room daily. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.
