Agree sites crowded. Pools closed when we visited, but they look great. A little noisy with boats and traffic, but we ran our fan at night and slept well. A request for water site or any specific site can not be made with a reservation. Wonder why they do not do that. I would be more likely to return if I could be assured of a water site. - sp123

We loved our week so much that we stayed a second week! Staff was fabulous. Loved the pools. Met some fabulous people. We are full timers but, we're going to make sure to come back! - Kcdmama

The only reason I did not give it a 10 is because of the ants. There are ants all over the place. The roads are easy to navigate and it is very pet friendly. - Psushu

This is a fairly new park. The entrance is a little strange. When approaching the CG there is an entrance which has a code operated gate. You need to go past that and into the driveway at the end of the street, but there is no parking area and you have to block the entrance while checking in. Having pull-in sites givers a nice view of the lake. Major problem is road noise which doesn't stop. Would probability not stay again because of the noise. There are better CGs close by. - newbies2016

The site was long enough for our 45 foot motorhome and toad. Staff escorted us to our pull through site. We entered the park through the exit gate due to our size. We had to disconnect the toad to get into the site. The site are a little tight to get into. - Cementmaker
May 2018 - $30.00
Easy access on/off interstate as well as close by Cracker Barrel+ and Wal-Mart. Friendly, helpful folks met me at the gate and guided me to my site. Long, crushed stone sites with grass in between. This is a relatively new park with a swimming pool, modern laundry/bath house, trash pick up and GREAT wi-fi. A variety of eateries and shopping are close by, just across the interstate. - Halfmast

First, let me start with the positives. The staff was very friendly. Even with a major tractor show going on this weekend, the park was clean. All the utilities worked well, including the wifi. There are several hiking trails, and the Noccalula Falls Park (about 1/2 mile walk) is very nice and worth spending an afternoon - or more. Now the down side. Most (the majority - there are a few exceptions) are very close together. I could not fully extend my main awning without literally hitting the RV in the site next to me. The utilities are all at the rear of the sites, and that can mean needing to run extra water and sewer hoses to reach. The water outlet is for two sites. If you are showering and the other RV turns on the water, you will know it. Even so, water pressure was good - almost too good. I had to keep my pressure regulator on the water hose to keep the hose from leaking around the connections. The roads were poorly maintained, which made staying under the posted 5 MPH speed limit no problem; you wouldn't even want to drive faster than that. There were several 40 foot motorhomes in the park when I was there, so it can be done. But overall, this park was designed for a time when RVs were much smaller and more compact. Still, it is a good base for exploring the Gadsden area. - MFTDoc

We stayed here Sept.30 in site #A-6. Our 30'10" FW fit nicely on the concrete pad. Backing in was somewhat of a challenge since one side of the pad was about 6" above ground. The cable service was good but the Wi-Fi was somewhat spotty. The falls are quite pretty and just a short walk from the campground. Our BIGGEST issue with this campground was ants. We had an invasion into our FW ... they climbed up the water line. I didn't notice until the next morning that several sites near us had ant poison sprinkled on the concrete pad. If you camp here, make sure you take precautionary measures to keep the little buggers at bay. - Burt Bennett

This is the second time staying at this CG. It is very easy access off I-59. As with a lot of parks - some spaces are great and others a bit on the narrow side. The narrow ones have a lot of space directly behind them - so that is a plus, but it doesn't allow a lot of room for parking just one vehicle. We happened to have one of the narrow spaces our first 3 nights (A4) but because we decided to stay longer we had to move - and that actually turned out to be a bonus - great wide spot (B7). Being right next to Noccalula Falls City Park was nice, too - great walking trails and walking around on the rocks. Cable channels weren't too numerous and wifi was pretty typical for campgrounds - but we would definitely go back. For the price - you can't beat this place. Within an hour's drive there is plenty to explore especially in DeKalb County, AL. - want2go

We stayed here for four weeks as part of a UMC NOMADS volunteer mission project and would love to stay longer. Last year part of our project included updating the pavilion and bathrooms closest to the RV sites so they are now like new. There are 10 full hookup sites, three of which have 50 amp. All sites are level and the utilities worked well, except on the hottest days when everyone was running air conditioners the voltage on the end sites dropped below 105 volts. Some of the sites are shaded and some are in the sun. The camp has several hiking trails including a paved trail beside the lake that is about a mile long. The camp staff are very friendly and helpful. Be aware that on weekends the pavilion next to the RV sites is rented out for gatherings. On two weekends of our stay there were weddings and on the other weekends there were church picnics. Not a problem for us. This is a beautiful camp in the spring and fall. Winter is usually mild, but summers are hot and buggy. Also, since this is primarily a church camp, during the summer the camp is filled with, well, campers. Also, be aware that cell phone service is very weak here, but the WIFI was great at the sites. The camp has installed a booster for Verizon Wireless at the camp office. We used a cell booster in our rig and it worked well. We will stay here again. - Nomads_2
Jun 2009 - $15.00
In a beautiful valley, owned by the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church. Pros - Quiet. Nice paved and non-paved walking trails. Internet available in registration lobby about 1/4 mile away. Convenient if attending an activity at the camp. Nice playground. Cons - Distant to town, bring supplies. Bathrooms and showers connected with a large picnic pavilion used by summer youth campers, could create conflicts during day. Bathrooms in need of a major modernization effort. Tiny biting insects were very bad during the evening and morning hours. Apparently the entire camp is undergoing major financial strain and is in need of donations (according to website). We would not camp here again in June due to the insect problem, but might return in cooler months. - The Happy Traveler

We did NOT stay here. However, we needed someplace to dump our tanks and this was recommended. The park is actually very reasonable for overnighters or short timers. It is next to a RR track, but not sure how busy the line is. Sites appear reasonable and it is an honor system for pay:$15 for pull through, $12 for back in. There were sites also available for pop-top campers on a grassy site. Dump fee was $10. If traveling through the area or in the area for a bit on business, this may well be better than a WalMart or other parking lot. Folks I talked with in the park were friendly and said it was a great spot to stay. Easy drive to WalMart and other stores. - Too-wow
Mar 2002 - $12.00
This is a parking lot. It has electricity, water, sewer & cable. It is OK, but dont expect more. It has no office (someone comes by once a day to collect the rent), no security, no restrooms or showers. We had no problem with this and would stay there again. Roads are gravel, sites are gravel, level and will accommodate big rigs. - Travelin Rose

Oct 2014 - $32.00
This campround has all grass sites and is very small, maybe 50 sites, but the park has a lot to offer, even for the big rigs like my 40 ft DP. They have limited 50 amps and no sewer only water. There are several site right on the water with fishing piers. They have 1 restroom with showers. They have a very nice large pool. I found it very peaceful, we stayed in late October. - Tom222
May 2014 - $30.00
Stayed here for three nights after Memorial Day. Most of the campers are weekenders so if you come during the week, it's not too busy. Weekends are busy and locals have reserved most of the waterfront and better sites. Difficult for a big rig to get in and park due to trees and tight turns. Many rules regarding visitors and use of facilities. On the plus side, the sites are good sized, have shade, and there is access to a pool and piers on the lake. Very poor antenna TV reception. All sites are gravel or grass so water puddles if it rains. We used our AT&T phone hotspot for internet and it worked fine. - threehendersons
Jun 2013 - $15.00
Very scenic. Planned on an overnight, but stayed for three days. Pool was about 25x70. Shade was abundant. Bathrooms/showers are dated but clean. Will stay again. Price was the Passport America price. Many folks stay here on weekends and leave their rigs during the week. - hmthomas1
