This is a great Escapees Park. It is about twenty to thirty minutes from I-10 but easy to drive to. The roads to the park are a mix of highway and county. There are no signs directing you to the park but our GPS got us there without an issue. The park is neat, clean, well taken care of and there is no trash lying around. Check in was easy and efficient. The park is surrounded by a residential neighborhood. The roads in the park are paved, straight, with no overhanging trees. All pets were observed on a leash. Our site was hard sand that ponded when it rained but quickly drained due to the nature of the soil. I would suggest bringing a mud mat to wipe your feet on before entering your rig or your rig will quickly have sand all over the floor. Our site was a back in, easy to get into, reasonably level, and all utilities were in working order and convenient to the wet bay. We had a 50 amp site which you pay extra for. Walking around I did observe some sites which were really unlevel so pick and choose carefully when taking a site. Site separation is good but there are no trees, brush or vegetation between your site and the next. There are trees throughout the park in different locations so some sites are shaded, some partly shaded and some with no shade. We were partly shaded yet had a clear view of the southern sky so we had excellent Dish reception. There is an excellent coin laundry, neat, clean with all machines in working order. There is a pool which is in excellent condition but we did not use it. We would stay here again. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

In Foley visit the Train Depot, Medical Museum and a must the Old time Soda Fountain. In Mobile must see are the USS Alabama and USS Drum (lot of walking and climbing so be prepared!)Route 32 to Route 59, go north WalMart and Camping World. Go South town of Foley which has supermarkets, pharmacy's, restaurants of all kinds and anything else you need.

Overall Rating:

50 amp, FHU site. Very nice park approx. half way between Foley & Fairhope, AL with all each has to offer. Nice quiet atmosphere this time of year. Several OTA TV signals, used our phone hot spots rather than purchase the horrible Tengo internet. The park has a rec center (very quiet since the snowbirds have left) and pool which opened on May 1st. We would definitely return. Rate was monthly Escapees member rate with electricity added. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Foley has a multitude of shops, big box stores and restaurants etc. as does Fairhope. If you like watching the fabulous Navy Blue Angels, the drive to Pensacola Naval Air Station is 1 hour and well worth the trip. Don't miss a visit to Battleship Park in Mobile where the USS Alabama & USS Drum are on display as well as other military aircraft, tanks & artillery pieces. And, of course, there are the beaches about 40 minutes south.

Overall Rating:

This is probably the nicest Escapees Rainbow park as the park looks neat and tidy and the surrounding area is nice. All the roads are paved and are wide. The campsites are mostly back-in on grass or dirt with shade from trees. No picnic tables or fire pits as seems to be common with Escapees parks. There is a dry camping area for $7/night and leased lots as well as ERPU lots. It does get muddy when it rains. The clubhouse is nice, there were many activities such as social hour, crafts, card games, dinners, etc. There is a pool, library and laundry. Folks were friendly. We got over the air tv and ok WiFi. Would stay here again. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate listed reflects campsite plus electric. We stayed for a month and the electric is billed separately. We arrived shortly after heavy rains and our site was very muddy, to the point that we were worried about getting stuck when backing in. They indicate they are trying to grow grass on all of the sites but ours was muddy and sandy so always tracking in some type of dirt. In addition, because of the mud, we had very limited space for parking our toad if we didn't want it in the mud. I think it would be reasonable if not during rainy season. No picnic table or fire ring. However, the sites were so spacious that it made up for much of the inconveniences. Frequent activities similar to other Escapee parks where we stayed. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Park is very quiet and empty at this time of year. Large sites, friendly neighbors. All grass sites. The only I see is that the laundry facilities need some maintenance. Of 4 washers, 1 was broken. Of 5 dryers, 2 were broken. My understanding is that they have been broken for several weeks if not longer. Also, lawn maintenance was done on Sunday. No reason that we can see, weather has been good. Most its under the trees. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Well maintained friendly park with a lot of full-timers spending the winter. We always stop off here when traveling along the Gulf coast to rest and visit the nearby seafood and alternatively the BBQ restaurants. Large partially shaded full hook-up sites had plenty of room although the neighbors are always in sight. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Nearby Foley along SR 59 has lots of shopping & dining opportunities with most national retailers present. In the opposite direction you can visit Fairhope on Mobile Bay for a more laid-back tourist experience.

We really like this campground. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and there are lots of walkers who enjoy stopping for a chat. The RV area is grassy on packed sand. We enjoyed the spacious site and a nice shady oak tree. In the past we have parked under oak trees in the fall and didn't enjoy the acorn bombardment on the camper. This being spring we mainly had to put up with leaves falling (the oaks don't shed leaves until new leaves come in and "push" them out). There are lots of activities in the park's activity center: everything from a music group to quilters to a chair "caning" group. Of course, there are plenty of eating opportunities as well. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Fifth Wheel.

One of the nicer Escapees parks. We stayed 4-5 days; no full hook-up sites were available so we boondocked, hence the lower rate. Escapees members pay $22 for FHU sites. The sites are back-in and grass/gravel. Many folks are long term. People are so friendly and welcoming here. They have a social hour, line dancing, bingo, meal times, etc. There is a nice clubhouse, laundry, library, pool, dog walk area. We enjoyed our time here and will be back for a longer visit. Sites are all spacious with some shade, but are grass with some dirt so can get pretty messy in heavy rain. Roads are very wide, access to the sites is easy. All are backin. Part of park is only 30 amp.

The park is a mix of houses, longterm leased lots and rv sites. The facilities and the park are spotless. There are activites going on every day at the clubhouse and visitors are encouraged to join in. Be sure to go to happy hour.

Very large fields adjacent to the developed area makes ideal dog walking but folks are a little casual about cleaning up.

No WIFI or cable, but AT&T data worked fine and OTA reception was good. We look forward to returning for a longer visit. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

The rate reflects a weekly stay. Rainbow Plantation is an Escapees park. As such you must be an Escapees member to stay here. The sites are spacious and easy to back into. The office staff were friendly and helpful. The area was nice. The laundry facilities were clean, inexpensive, and worked well. There were many permanent residents and long-term guests, but they kept their sites neat. Community meals were held several times per week, as well as other activities. There was a DVD lending library. We were in the minority being below the retirement age. Most guests were diligent about cleaning up after their dogs, but not all were. The rate reflects the SKP member monthly rate, plus electric. This is the first park we have ever rated a 10. This was our first time to this park and we have already booked for next year. Everyone in this park was so welcoming and there are many, many activities/dinners planned. We felt like family as soon as we arrived. The sites are very spacious and level. The sites are grassy and there were lots of ants around, but I believe this is normal for this area. Good open spaces for satellite reception. Utilities worked very well. Did not use the Tengo WIFI as we have our own. The only thing we could think would be an improvement would be the sites being paved as we were constantly tracking into the camper. Large grassy sites, ours was level. Large Clubhouse with plenty of activities. As an Escapees park, there are plenty of seasonal and permanent residents, but they are very friendly and welcoming, and they want you to be a part of their activities.
