Rate listed reflects campsite plus electric. We stayed for a month and the electric is billed separately. We arrived shortly after heavy rains and our site was very muddy, to the point that we were worried about getting stuck when backing in. They indicate they are trying to grow grass on all of the sites but ours was muddy and sandy so always tracking in some type of dirt. In addition, because of the mud, we had very limited space for parking our toad if we didn't want it in the mud. I think it would be reasonable if not during rainy season. No picnic table or fire ring. However, the sites were so spacious that it made up for much of the inconveniences. Frequent activities similar to other Escapee parks where we stayed. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Park is very quiet and empty at this time of year. Large sites, friendly neighbors. All grass sites. The only I see is that the laundry facilities need some maintenance. Of 4 washers, 1 was broken. Of 5 dryers, 2 were broken. My understanding is that they have been broken for several weeks if not longer. Also, lawn maintenance was done on Sunday. No reason that we can see, weather has been good. Most its under the trees. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Well maintained friendly park with a lot of full-timers spending the winter. We always stop off here when traveling along the Gulf coast to rest and visit the nearby seafood and alternatively the BBQ restaurants. Large partially shaded full hook-up sites had plenty of room although the neighbors are always in sight. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

We really like this campground. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and there are lots of walkers who enjoy stopping for a chat. The RV area is grassy on packed sand. We enjoyed the spacious site and a nice shady oak tree. In the past we have parked under oak trees in the fall and didn't enjoy the acorn bombardment on the camper. This being spring we mainly had to put up with leaves falling (the oaks don't shed leaves until new leaves come in and "push" them out). There are lots of activities in the park's activity center: everything from a music group to quilters to a chair "caning" group. Of course, there are plenty of eating opportunities as well. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Fifth Wheel.

One of the nicer Escapees parks. We stayed 4-5 days; no full hook-up sites were available so we boondocked, hence the lower rate. Escapees members pay $22 for FHU sites. The sites are back-in and grass/gravel. Many folks are long term. People are so friendly and welcoming here. They have a social hour, line dancing, bingo, meal times, etc. There is a nice clubhouse, laundry, library, pool, dog walk area. We enjoyed our time here and will be back for a longer visit. Sites are all spacious with some shade, but are grass with some dirt so can get pretty messy in heavy rain. Roads are very wide, access to the sites is easy. All are backin. Part of park is only 30 amp.
The park is a mix of houses, longterm leased lots and rv sites. The facilities and the park are spotless. There are activites going on every day at the clubhouse and visitors are encouraged to join in. Be sure to go to happy hour.
Very large fields adjacent to the developed area makes ideal dog walking but folks are a little casual about cleaning up.
No WIFI or cable, but AT&T data worked fine and OTA reception was good. We look forward to returning for a longer visit. We

The rate reflects a weekly stay. Rainbow Plantation is an Escapees park. As such you must be an Escapees member to stay here. The sites are spacious and easy to back into. The office staff were friendly and helpful. The area was nice. The laundry facilities were clean, inexpensive, and worked well. There were many permanent residents and long-term guests, but they kept their sites neat. Community meals were held several times per week, as well as other activities. There was a DVD lending library. We were in the minority being below the retirement age. Most guests were diligent about cleaning up after their dogs, but not all were. The rate reflects the SKP member monthly rate, plus electric. This is the first park we have ever rated a 10. This was our first time to this park and we have already booked for next year. Everyone in this park was so welcoming and there are many, many activities/dinners planned. We felt like family as soon as we arrived. The sites are very spacious and level. The sites are grassy and there were lots of ants around, but I believe this is normal for this area. Good open spaces for satellite reception. Utilities worked very well. Did not use the Tengo WIFI as we have our own. The only thing we could think would be an improvement would be the sites being paved as we were constantly tracking into the camper. Large grassy sites, ours was level. Large Clubhouse with plenty of activities. As an Escapees park, there are plenty of seasonal and permanent residents, but they are very friendly and welcoming, and they want you to be a part of their activities. We were always invited to join them for meals, and never ate alone. This was our second stay, and we will stay again. We camped at Rainbow Plantation - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rainbow Plantation is an Escapee Park. The sites are all back-in on level grass or sand and very spacious. Roads are paved and there is plenty of room to navigate into sites. Utilities work well although only half of the 97 sites offer 50 amp elec. No cable TV is offered and internet is thru Tengonet. I found the internet to be useless. I was not able to get a signal in the trailer. I did get a good signal from Dish Network. As with all Escapee parks, there is plenty to do with many planned activities and functions. This is my third visit to Rainbow Plantation, but I doubt I will return due to the sandy/no grass sites. For my future visits to Lower Alabama I'll look for campgrounds with better sites. Outlet mall Foley. Good Walmart in Fair Hope. Bring a large mat since sand and grass do track pretty badly.
