I have to agree with previous notes. This is a good overnight stopping location. The assistance I got from the man checking me in was" find a spot on the first road. One of the spaces has a bad breaker so if you pick that site, plug in at one of the adjacent sites." Several of the sites ( mine) required you to pull in and back out as there was a large hump that blocked access to the road in front of the site. We camped at Walnut Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The place is right off 231 south of Troy and makes an OK overnight stop. The sites are pull-in/back-out so we had to disconnect our tow car and then hook it back up after we backed out. We parked in a line of of about 16 to 18 RVs and looking out our window we saw large mobile homes being put in. A previous review stated something about student housing so it looks like they are in the process of converting from an RV park to just student housing. Cost was $17.00 cash not sure if that included tax or not. Didn't pick up any WiFi so doubt if they had it. We camped at Walnut Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Level grass sites with good cable. No trees/shade. Mixed use with "new" mobile homes and travel trailers for lease. Well maintained and mowed. Used as a overnight stop and it was perfect for that. Would come back. We camped at Walnut Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

First about the park. The park is easy to find and get into. There are two RV site locations in the park...those with a lake view or those nearer the office. Some of the roads to and around the lake view sites are a little rutted and potholed from rain. The lake view sites are also where the majority of long term guest are located. The owner called all sites "pull-throughs" but those near the office have no clear exit path. From observation, many 5th wheelers chose to back out while Class A's with tows pulled through, did a tight loop and then pulled back through an open site to exit. This works if there are open sites in the right place but if the park was near full it would create a problem. The site connections are good with water, electric and sewer being located center of each site. Water pressure is good, no pad, no picnic tables. The sites themselves are tight for many RV's. A larger 5th wheel or Class A with slides on both sides consumes all but about 3 feet of the site width. However, they are very long. The sites are grass and dirt, or should I say sand. We found it all but impossible impossible to keep this "sticky sand" from tracking into our RV. The park owner is in the process of setting up new furnished mobile homes to serve as student housing for nearby Troy University. These mobile homes are adjacent to the RV sites near the office. We departed the park three days earlier then our originally planned date. I won't go into details but after three years of full time RV'ing this was the first time I've ever had park management angrily threaten me with, "You'd better not leave me a bad review or I'll come back on you." Now I ask you, isn't that like admitting you deserved one? But I've tried to be fair. We camped at Walnut Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very roomy. Easy hook ups, level sites, large pavilion, grass areas, no pads, no picnic tables, reasonable PPA. 30 & 50 amp power. Cable tv. Nice place to stay if you have things to do in the area. No play ground. I would stay again for a night or two. Would recommend to stay. We camped at Walnut Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We found the campground easy to find off the highway and it was a breeze pulling into the site. The owner was very friendly and nice to talk to and hooking up was easy. We stayed 1 night going to Huntsville and 1 night on our return. It was a no frills campground but a great place to stay. We camped at Walnut Creek RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Used this as a rest stop on the way to FL. Easy to get to and lots of space, easy and well designed hookups. We did hear road noise (not from US-231, but connector road, much of the night, racing cars) and lots of upset cows bleeting for mom all night and day. Used to use the park for Samborees and large gatherings so if full, it would be very tight. That said, it was a good deal and owner is working hard to improve facilities. Worth it at PA rates and for overnight stay. We camped at Walnut Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed at this park overnight on trip through AL. Large fairly level grassy sites. Did not use any of the facilities. Grounds were neat and clean. There is a lake and a large building for gatherings as well as a pavilion. Would be a good place for a group or rally. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There are a few RVs that appear to be here seasonally or longer but they were all very clean and tidy. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Walnut Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.
