We had a fun stay over the weekend here. This is a Horse Riding Campground, so most of the people there had their horse-trailer campers. We don't ride, so we looked a little out of place. The sites are very un-level in places and just in big grass fields. The site were not well defined, so you found your power and water pole in the middle of the field and pulled in the best way you could. A few sites had sewer hookups, but most did not, dump station was available. Most sites are 30 amp only sites. The onsite restaurant The Rattlesnake Saloon was fun and the food was great. Wasn't a bad trip, but not your typical campground. - Mhallman9903

Kind of a barebones campground, but spacious sites with nice views. Good mix of sun and shade. We were in part shade facing a huge grassy area next to the restrooms. Very nice restroom/laundry area. Some pull-thrus and some back-ins. Excellent customer service! There are train tracks across the road and go by frequently in the early evening and a couple of times in the middle of the night - they do sound the whistle, but it did not really bother us. We would stay here again if in the area. - Deb and Chris
May 2018 - $25.00
Not a bad park for a night or two. Electric seems to be okay and was an easy plug in. Sewer was towards the middle of the site. It was a pull thru gravel site with evening shade and a picnic table. - JustDon
Apr 2016 - $25.00
On our dirt/pine needle filled site there was no picnic table, no fire pit, no grill, and we were close to the next RV. There was low water pressure. A train goes through several times a day (and night), and the highway noise is prevalent. The WiFi is a medium-to-weak signal but when it works it's okay for email and streaming music. The laundry, showers, and bathrooms were good. There is street behind the park accessible via a short trail that was okay for a short walk, but nothing special. If we end up back in that area, we'll look for a better alternative. - RobtL

This is a great park for a short stay while seeing the sights. We stayed here to see Helen Keller's childhood home. There are four pull thru sites & we stayed in the end one. There are a lot of long term campers, area workers. Their sites are clean & well kept up. There is plenty of grass for the dogs & lots of space to walk them. Yes, there is no shade. There are no playgrounds or dog parks. There is no problem getting satellite signal. We got over the air signal & they do have cable. The site was level. The hook ups work fine & they are easily accessible. The host was very friendly. They recycle here. That is a plus in our book. We would stay here again if traveling through the area. - Connie's Co-Owner
Jun 2018 - $24.00
Pros: Convenient for our stay in the area. Nice staff. Big rig friendly. Wide sites. Quiet at night. Cons: No patio, no fire ring, no picnic table. Pretty much a gravel parking lot. The full hookups are located at the back of each site. This means you'll need 2 lengths of water hose, 3 lengths of sewer hose, and a long length of cable for TV. While this arrangement was probably a convenient way for the campground owners to set it up, it's definitely not convenient for campers who may not have anticipated bringing extra equipment to reach the utilities. A lot of long-term campers here. People who work in the area. Don't be surprised if you return to your site only to find someone else parked there because they're visiting someone else in the campground. Seems odd someone would do that, but it happened to us. - The Other John Doe
Jun 2018 - $35.00
Good for an overnight stay. Clean. Garbage cans are located park and are emptied before they get overfilled. About 1/4 of the sites are occupied by long term units, some not well maintained. Far enough from the highway to be pretty quiet. - DangerousLampMan

I had to call over 5 times to get a person on the phone to answer questions. I left a message but no one returned my call. Every site we saw had bits of trash on it. The washrooms and showers were disgusting! On the up side, it's a pretty park on the river with a lot to do in the Florence area. Scope out sites before choosing. - Madd Dogg
Jun 2018 - $20.00
Stayed here for two nights in a "pull-thru". This park is city operated & has a few issues. The entrance off of hwy. 20 is nice and wide and remains easily navigable all the way back to where the rv section is. After passing thru the gate, you will encounter the entrance, which is a very acute 90 degree right turn, followed by an acute 90 degree left turn. We decided to pull just passed the entrance, over to the side & disconnect the tow. We are in a 42 ft. class A and I don't think we would be able to make the tight turns connected. The other issue is the straight 90 degree pull-thrus that are a bit of a challenge to turn in to. If you are a seasoned driver of a class A, you should be able to manage all of the turns, just go slow & take it easy. On the plus side, the utilities worked well and the view of the Tennessee River is pretty cool. Walked over in the evening with beverage & chair on the bank & watched the boat traffic. - Smooth Running
May 2018 - $20.00
Roads: Paved and easy to get around on. Sites WES 20,30,50 amp. Sites were paved with picnic tables. Our site was well shaded by choice and was plenty long enough for the coach and the toad. Sites were spacious. If you want sites out of the shade those are available too. It is now 1st come 1st served and it was filling up fast as the weekend got there. We pulled in on a Tuesday and had no problem getting a site. By the weekend the place was full. Bathrooms and showers were clean until the weekend hit. They may have been cleaned in the morning but but by the time evening rolled around they needed shoveling out again. The showers are push button with vaguely warmish water and lots of pressure that blast into the area where your cloths are. They are adequate for getting clean but barely. For being so close to town the park was very quiet with a great view of the river. If you like hammocks they have a whole forest that seems like it was specifically designed for them. We pulled in from the Natchez Trace and were able to explore the Trace and many other attractions in the area. We'd stay here again if we're in the area. - pumper9x9

Needed a place to stay near Muscle Shoals awaiting a service appointment. Choices in the area are very limited. About 10 miles from town, this campground is out of the way and quiet on a pretty spit of land along a feeder to the Tennessee River. I had the only "pull-thru" site. Site was level, clean and very large. Power, water and sewer connections were all well placed and worked perfectly. Verizon Cell reception was 2-3 bars and the WiFi reception was good. This park is exactly what I was hoping to for my several day stay. Expect to pay by cash or check. - 2ndRoads
May 2017 - $22.00
We needed a week stay that would be close enough to the Huntsville airport and striking distance to Red Bay. We looked at other options in the area that looked like open parking lots. This campground isn't much more than that since there are no trees around the campsites. But what sold us was the surrounding area. There's a boat launch and a couple of great nature trails along the river and around the rest of the county property. We walked them every day, plus down a neighborhood street on the other side of the river with homes, chickens, horses, fields. The camp hosts were very friendly - gave us information about the surrounding area and received an Amazon package for us. The other campers were also very friendly. There was no picnic table or patio/pad, but that wasn't a bid deal for us. Free WIFI, which was surprisingly strong! We would definitely stay here if passing through the area again. - Roaming Together
May 2017 - $16.00
Quiet campground. Level gravel sites in open area with easy satellite reception. Wifi good, Verizon service 3 bars. Two Individual unisex bathrooms in clean block building. Each bathroom has toilet, sink and shower with cement floor. Campground premesis also has tornado shelter, playground and free boat ramp. Manager lives in home on property and is exceptional. We arrived two days late due to need for brake repair. I had notified him. He was extremely accommodating and never charged us for the missed dates while saving site #1 for us. His wife took us to see two birds nests with baby birds we could easily see (in cedar about 4 ft above ground serface.) - User2477

We needed a place to stay for a few days before we had work done on our motorhome. This was perfect! The setting along the water with lots of trees is beautiful. We had a pull through site in the middle of the campground, but still walked around and enjoyed the public area where you can walk to the water. There are lots of locals who leave their trailers here and treat this as their weekend "lake house", so there are few sites available for transients. They don't take reservations, so that makes it a little tricky. It's a nice quiet campground, and you can walk/run/bike down the road to the boat launch and pavilion areas for a nice two miles roundtrip with mostly trees for scenery. After the work was completed on our motorhome, we came back here for another couple nights! - Roaming Together

We have been at Cedar Ridge for 1 month. Its a very nice area to explore, the campground is near a lake known for great fishing. The campground itself is very well maintained by a very nice couple, with well groomed gravel sites & great trees. Owner offers pump out service. The small store is well stocked with basic camping items as well as food & bait & tackle. A clean laundry room as well as clean restrooms with showers. There is no wifi, very limited TV reception, & the only cell service available is ATT. - jstrom

We stopped here for a weekend on our way back home from a fall trip to the north because of the rave of others on this park. The park itself is nice with the lake, marina, golf course, lodge and restaurant but the campground was somewhat of a disappointment. Sites are wooded and set up for privacy but the pads are in poor shape. Mature trees that are braking the pads with the root system. You have to park just right to be able to open your slides and awning, not being able to use the awning. None to little ATT service and wifi. Campground says it has wifi but it doesn't. Over the air TV is spotty and too many trees for satellite. Been to quite a few state parks in Alabama and this one is rated towards the lower end. Think we'll pass on this one next time in the area. - southernsky
Apr 2018 - $27.00
One of the best state parks we've visited. It is very well kept and the layout of campsites are angled for more privacy. The interior roads are asphalt paved and wide enough to easily navigate. However there is a sharp turn as your leaving the A loop. Just take it slow around the curve.
We didn't use shower rooms except during a tornado warning. the local emergency sirens sounded and the ranger began circling the campground with his siren on telling everyone to move to the closet shower building. he then stopped by several times to check on everyone, and give us updates on the storm.
There is a restaurant at the lodge, which is next to the marina, good food and service at a reasonable price. There is also a Day Use section with athletic fields, tennis courts, frisbee golf, etc. you can also have a picnic at one of the shelters there.
We enjoyed our time here and would visit again if we were back in the area. - Our rv journey

Beautiful, beautiful park. Lots to do; swimming, boating, hiking, fishing, golfing and very nice restaurant. Large shaded full hookup or primitive sites. Large 4 private stalls and 4 private seat bathhouse in each circle of sites. Can see lots of wildlife; deer, turkey and squirrels. Very pet and child friendly. Nice marina and several places to fish from the banks at the Lake. Our site was C009 and was right on the water. Will go back to this one often.. - Mickey K

Rockie' Campground if you like to fish and enjoy the friendliest people on earth. The owner and her husband will do anything to help you. Nice clean site, close to the boat ramp. Will camp here whenever we go to Pickwick. - User1192
Nov 2009 - $18.00
Rose Trail RV Park is directly across the street from Colbert County Rose Trail Park. We were able to walk across the street to the lake, boat ramp, and piers. There are only 14 sites. While we were here, we were the only over nighties. The rest were vacant except for two live-aboard and two empty seasonals. Gravel pads are level and partially shaded. Amenities are scarce. I don't know if they even have bathrooms or showers. The general store has typical mini mart inventory plus a good assortment of fishing tackle. Wi-Fi works in the general Store. Several loose aggressive dogs made it difficult to walk ours. At $18 including tax, this is a good deal for 50A full hookup site. - whizbang
