Alabama State Park which reopened (campgrounds) after extensive rebuilding. Sites are now hard packed gravel, level and bordered by large wood timbers. New bathhouses, all roads repaved. All sites now have 50 amp and sewer. Several new sites have been added pull thru and back in. During our stay they were installing coded gates to enter. We will return this fall. - bowl2764

Our first time at this state park. It was very nice, good site with lots of space. As others have noted, make sure you're RV is in good running condition because the hills getting there are a real eye opener. - Spirit1999

This park is totally run down and unkept. The sites are not cleaned (cigarette butts in grill and all over the site, dog poop, weeds, poison ivy). The site we were given was long enough but, not wide enough. Our awning if pulled out would have been in the road. Some of the sites had a piece of paper over the electrical box stating there was a problem with it. We paid an additional entrance fee (typical for state parks) however, we had to pay extra for a map of the park with hiking trails which wasn't even correct. We did some hiking in the park and found trash everywhere (in some places it was as if someone literally dumped out a bag of their trash). Very disappointing and we won't be returning! - Dab888

Easy on and off from the highway, great stop for the last leg of our trip home. Pull thru level gravel site with full hookup. The best part of the park is the Damn Yankee Restaurant! Good service and terrific food!!! Great chicken wings to start than excellent fresh fish and ribeye, cooked perfectly. I would highly recommend for that alone. We travelled here in a 38' Motorhome with a toad. - CarenCharlie112

We found this place to be very nice for an overnight stay. The sites were gravel and level with easy access on the pull through sites. We have a 41 foot coach and were pulling a toad. All sites have a concrete pad for your patio. WiFi was excellent as we stayed in one of the back lots. Had full hookups but we only used electricity. The panel breaker did trip even though I was not drawing full 50 amps and voltage stayed around 118 to 121 volts. I just manually controlled the ACs and all was good. You check in at the Damn Yankees Bar & Restaurant, and we ate there, the service and food were excellent. - Land of Nor

We have stayed here before enroute from Atlanta/North. As mentioned - about 45 minutes from Atlanta and a few minutes off I20. East to get to and exit. Park has a lot of units that look full time. A few spaces in the back will work for 75 feet rigs/tows and seem to be where overnighters stay. Utilities are in the Front of the space - bring extensions. Not sure who laid this out but it is bizarre. The park could be pretty - there is a nice river that runs thru the back and there are lush trees. Check in was easy - exit easy. Not a resort but a very acceptable overnight stay that does not pretend to be what it is not. - Zoey and Reba

We stayed here to escape hurricane Michael as it tore through Florida and So. Georgia. It was an emergency decision to stay here but the place is nice, quiet and clean. The grass and ground are well cared for, no trash or debris around. Our site was gravel and reasonably level an nearly 100 ft long. The spaces are fairly close together. Close enough that I would not extend an awning all the way. We are in a 45' motor home. Most of the sites are occupied by long term construction workers. The park is outside town in a rural counrty area and Cane Creek flows right next to the park and could be a concern during heavy rain. - Vstarrider1946

This park is off I20- and about 45 minutes west of Atlanta metro. It was a great park for a stop over. The new owners are very involved in upgrading the park. The setting is actually very pretty - creek runs thru the rear of the park and the overall facility is very attractive. Only a few permanent campers and not a problem. I am 45 feet long with a 20 foot trailer and I had a choice of several spaces that were perfect. Other comments about tree limbs - I am 13.5 feet tall and had no issues. New owners took care of that issue. I would definitely stop by again if I was in the area. The owner walked me to my space to make sure that I would fit. - Zoey and Reba
