Very basic RV park located in a residential/commercial neighborhood. It is a gravel lot with hookups. It is surrounded by trees and the Kenai river on one side. Access to the river by a long stair way to a small dock. Owner is personable. His grandson/manager is competent and friendly. All utilities are convenient and worked well. Much too expensive and basic for what is offered. Rated as Below Average, we would not stay there again. - Pacatrader

The resort is a nice location, however that is where the nice stops. The owner was very controlling and condescending it made what should have been a relaxing vacation a nightmare. I have stayed in many RV parks in the Soldotna area and I have never had any treatment like this. My son (first trip to AK) and brother in law and I went up for a nice quite fishing vacation. This was not the place for that. They do have a clean shower, however the hours are 9:00 am -9 pm somewhat inconvenient. There is one toilet for the whole camp. This camp is expensive for what amenities are offered, worse than that is the treatment we received from the owner - buyer beware. - Minnesota Fisherman
Jun 2019 - $100.00
Only electric hook up, hose for all to use to fill water, 1 bathroom for all, and 1 shower that is available only between specific hours 7AM-9PM. While our site was spacious and quiet and the family was very nice and helpful, we were mislead in the registration process. This is an expensive park at $100/night! We were told the price was high due to the location for fishing and the regular help and instruction we'd be given, and that they'd be there with us while fishing (and they were only at times). And I was enticed by the owner telling me that our timing was perfect for when the salmon are at the height of running by them. However, I learned from published information in their bathroom that the run for sockeye salmon (for which we were fishing) ended a week before we arrived. In fact they were running in another river further down, but the owner never said a word about going there to fish until we checked out. This was a misrepresentation of the facts in order to get us to book. When deciding to book, he also told me that the were filling up. Yet, there was only 1, and at times 2 other spots filled while we were there. Very disappointing! There is a policy of no refund there also. Check when and where the fish are running with local Fish and Game people before you book. - Adventurous Retirement
Jul 2018 - $100.00
We made reservations for two motorhomes. When we arrived we were told that we would be charged an additional $25.00 per night for our towed vehicle payable immediately, payable in cash. We were required to follow the owner around the campground so that he could point out all the amenities and the rules pertaining to them. For example, the single shower was only available from 9 am to 8:45 pm. I don't normally wait until the middle of the day to bathe. There was also a single bathroom available and he pointed out the cleaning supplies and told us to clean it if it was dirty. There are no sewer dumps or individual water for the sites so you either use their facility or you have to go to town five miles away and dump. The last straw from the owner was when he discriminated against us because of our beliefs. We told him we did not feel comfortable staying at this site. He immediately told us there would be no refund. When I told him this was not right to keep my money he told us we had five minutes to leave or he was calling the troopers. We left and found a very nice campground in Ninilchik. I called my credit card company and canceled the transaction. - User821

Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful, well maintained park. Level sites. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - ChuckReagin
Aug 2019 - $45.00
This was the best RV park we stayed in Alaska. Friendly staff, clean and convenient to Soldotna and for fishing on the Kenai River. This park has trees and so many others looked like parking lots! Hookups were good and the wi-fi was free and adequate. Would definitely stay here again. - themadcamper
Jul 2019 - $60.00
This campground is pretty much just a place to park when the salmon are running in town. There was a lot of noise from the road. - Fulltime Travelers

OK for a night. Did laundry, $2.25/$2.25 but several units were 'out of order'. The sites are grass/gravel and would be close together if it were anywhere near full, which it wasn't. I don't recommend the restaurant. If they can't even do breakfast right, they aren't worth visiting. The road into the campground past the motel is unbelievably rough with big potholes. Use extreme care. Kenai is a lovely town, however. - mockturtle
Jul 2018 - $35.00
There is nothing special about this park which is on a busy street on the way to Kenai. The hookups all worked well and the sites are level. There are some pot holes and areas in the campground that hold water when it rains which it seems to do often. It is pretty quiet except for an a/c unit that runs all of the time in the lot behind the campground. - mrracechaser
Jul 2018 - $35.00
Rate excludes tax, $37 with tax. As noted in the previous 2010 review, the park is level firm gravel and is located a block behind the Best Western Motel. Access from the main road is good. Since the park is a block off the main road, it is quiet, but yet near all the Soldotna shops. Checkin is at the Best Western Motel registration desk. Sites are wide compared to most RV parks in the area. The park includes 22 pull-through sites, long enough to easily accommodate our 45 ft Class A motorhome, but not long enough to leave a tow connected. However the tow can easily be parked alongside the RV in these wide sites. There is good Verizon and AT&T cell service, several over-the-air TV stations accessible, and the park is open enough to acquire satellite services from most of the sites. We've stayed here twice this summer and would return again anytime we are in the area. - Johnson's

We have stayed here several times over the past five years. We have been extremely impressed with the quality of the way the campground is taken care of by the volunteer hosts. The bathrooms are well maintained and cleaned on a daily basis by the hosts. The camp sites are cleaned when they are vacated by the Hosts.
There are several large pull-throughs along the center of the campground and all of the outer campsites are large back-in sites. There are several sites offering 2 side by side rig spacing. We have a 38 ft 5th wheel and we can fit in any of the sites. All sites have trees and bushes in between. There are several public fishing docks an easy walk from the campground. We will be back to stay here whenever we travel to Alaska. - Doris and Art
Jul 2015 - $15.00
If you don't need full hookups, this park is great. There are water spigots to fill your tanks if needed. There are about 40 sites, 10 of which are pull thrus. There are also a few double sites. The campground is laid out in a loop with the pull thrus in the center. All sites are very big and offer plenty of space and privacy. The vault toilets are kept incredibly clean. This park is also the park headquarters for the Alaskan State Parks so things are kept quite nice and neat. You can walk to the river for salmon fishing. Highly recommend. - Buckie

This campground is not very well maintained & is totally dry camping, although there is water available nearby. There are no restrooms other than pit toilets & they were not always very clean or well kept. The roads in the campground as well as leading to the campground are very rough dirt roads full of potholes. Really the only thing this campground has going for it is being right on the Kenai river with salmon fishing just steps away. - 2justroamin
Jun 2008 - $32.00
The park has nice sites. The sites are wide and spacious. However, the check in person (presumed owner) has an attitude. Very stringent rules about everything. Not a good place to bring a pet. They say they will ask you to leave if your pet urinates or defecates in the park. You must take your pet to the woods behind the park. No bathroom facilities. Showers are clean. Wi-Fi worked well in our site. We will not stay here again. - Jim Sathe
Jul 2007 - $15.00
This was a homely, no frills CG (no hook-ups, no showers) right over the Kenai river. The park was extremely busy but we got a pull-through site that fit our 30 ft class A and toad. The dirt roads to and through the CG were very rutted and pot holed. There is a Fred Myer very close to the CG. CG noisy and busy late into the evening/night with an awful lot of traffic on the CG road. It seems to be a popular place for folks who don't mind standing elbow to elbow with dozens and dozens of others to fish the Kenai river. (I guess that's basically the point of the place.) OK for a day or two but overall we thought it was pretty bad. Next time we'll drive the extra miles to the Discovery CG in Captain Cook recreation area, it was much, much nicer and less money. - mahaffee

We didn't actually stay here as we are staying at another c/g right in town. We went in to have a look in the tow car. The road is nothing but pot holes. I am so glad we decided to stay in another campground. It is very busy because this is the Salmon fishing season in Soldatna. The roads are very busy in July.
The sites are a mix of some in the trees and some level pull thrus which for the most part were empty. They were long and wide enough. We really didn't ride around the whole c/g as the roads were just too bad for me. The campground itself looked clean. There was one section that was full of tents and easy ups. - mrracechaser

FHU 30 amp, located on a very busy intersection lots of traffic noise, easy access from hwy. and enough room to maneuver in campground, almost no trees, level spots, power, water, sewer, Verizon good, close to town, close to river but cannot see or hear it, just a short walk from camp, WIFI bad. - RandL
Jul 2018 - $38.00
When we checked in here the attendant had a devil may care attitude. Sites are tail to tail and tight. We had a 30AMP stanchion, water was terrible, came through tea colored and we chose not to use it for anything. We bought bottled water. First night the power died and the staff offered no explanation. The sites are dirt, gravel and weeds. There is traffic noise to deal with but the main problem is, there are no other choices. - SilverBear
Jul 2015 - $42.00
This is a small RV park with small sites. Staff was very nice. Good location to fish the Kenai River since they have their own access to the river. Also good location to tour Soldotna and only 20 minutes to Kenai. Power and water were fine but wifi is with Tengo and you must pay to use it. Prices were OK but not free and very slow. My Verizon Mifi worked well as did my cell phone. I would stay here again. - RayN

Did not stay here due to size of my RV. Best for smaller then 30 ft. Very nice, heavily treed camp ground several miles off the main road. Camp ground is a bit remote, but beautiful Pit toilets and water spigots located throughout camp ground. Dump station across from CG. First come first serve. Above average. Would like to stay here. - Pacatrader
Jul 2017 - $5.00
Directions from 2015 are accurate. There are 3 loops. Lake Loop has 6 sites, 1 is handicap and USFS is now enforcing usage. Great CG, EZ access, plenty of pit toilets. We had bear visitors through the park, but no interest in humans. 44 total sites, 5 handicapped mixed in the loops. Awesome CG for boondocking. Spacious wooded sites. Would stay again. Park is patrolled by USFS and Federal Officers regularly. - Nevada Nick
Jul 2015 - $10.00
From the Sterling Highway towards Soldotna turn on Skilak Lake Road (gravel) to find Hidden Lake about 3 miles in. Nestled in the woods you will find paved and level sites in a very quiet setting. Trees between the sites, so privacy is good. Some pit toilets around and some hand water pumps. Water was murky, it's better to come with a full fresh water tank. Sites have no view of the lake but it's only a short walk no matter where you camp. Two pull thru sites, the rest is back in. A very nice campground and way less crowded than other places along the Sterling Highway. - TheSchweitzers

Jul 2019 - $80.00
We stayed for three nights in our 32 foot motor home. We knew we were assigned a spot in their pasture and were under the impression that we would at least have electricity, WiFi and TV. Instead we were parked in a cow pasture filled with cow patties every few feet. No close bathrooms to our site #65. We decided we had enough and gave notice we were leaving a day earlier than we paid and gave a 48 hour notice but were denied a refund. We were running out of fresh water and did not have water available for us. Later other campers said they were so sorry they filled their tanks with the brown tea colored water and had a hard time flushing it out if their tank. Our over priced cow poop patch was large but totally treeless. Plenty of picnic tables were stacked at the end of the field but not provided at the sites. We will never return and don't suggest you do either. - Dr B
Jun 2018 - $65.00
Lovely working ranch on a bluff above the Kenai River flats, with lots to see and do on site. Excellent location from which to head out and see the Peninsula. Level gravel sites with space between, very friendly owners and staff. Long term sites are separate from transients. There is road noise from Kalifornsky Beach Road during the day, but it quiets down long before bedtime. WiFi was excellent. We did not have a site set up for satellite, so cannot address its quality, but they are few in number. We located only one over the air channel, and its quality was bad. Lots of excellent walking paths, a very friendly cat will greet you as you stroll past the barn, goats, sheep, horses and cattle will greet you from the pastures, and tons of mosquitoes will gnaw upon you in the woods (it's Alaska, which does not have a single mosquito. They are all married and have lots of children). We didn't notice any mosquitoes at our site. Every Saturday night, the owners host a potluck supper on the observation deck, where, if you are really lucky, you'll see moose or the caribou herd stroll by. Front office was extremely helpful in setting up a birthday salmon fishing trip, and can assist in setting up other activities, too. An unusual feature here are the pull-through sites arranged in a square around a grassy common area with a huge fire pit. Four such setups will handle groups easily. We would happily stay here again. - L'Andante
May 2018 - $45.00
The parking spaces are adequate, average for an RV Park. Our problem with this RV Park is that they have bad water. We filled our tank, then found that the water looked like weak tea (brown). They know it and told us the water was good, but we did not feel comfortable using it for cooking or drinking. We are still working on getting it flushed out of our rig's system after draining twice and refilling. The park mentions it in writing in their agreement and you are required to sign. We won't go back to this RV Park again. - R WAGNER
